Ulric Typhonus's fourth army was the first military force from the Regalian Empire to make a move against the Qadir forces in Osmanli. Officially, the fourth army was to act as a decoy to the third and fifth armies led by Fuchs and von Trippenwitz respectively. Ulric Typhonus met Prince Isdevli Osmanli in the field after the landing near Aslaqqa, a 6,000 troop force versus the 10,000 Regalian troops. The formations were made, the Qadir going for a conventional 5 officer army formation while the Regalian forces went for a 4 officer army formation. The Vanguards of the Qadir quickly closed in on the Regalian flanks, Thomas Kade on the right and William Coen on the left.
The first to fight was William Coen's flank, outflanked itself by the Qadir vanguard, but outnumbering the Qadir flank it was to fight. William Coen did not distinguish himself in battle, in fact his performance was brilliantly outdone by Eranduril Teldallen who was assigned as his retainer and bodyguard. Many of the orders issued by Ulric and passed through tactical planning by Graeton Pileran were actually issued by Eranduril as William was too busy charging enemies around and trying to fight them personally. Marek Dredros was equally poor in his performance, getting knocked in the head by a hammer and knocked to the ground. He came out with a large bruise on his face. The flank was victorious but only averagely so. The vanguard was unable to force trough and the flank was defeated soundly by the combined Coen and Typhonus troops.
The right flank followed by Thomas Kade, outflanked by the Qadir vanguard though similarly outnumbering the flank. Thomas Kade did not perform good either much like William, though in this instance it was because their tactician was completely incompetent. Dimitri Vernay was more at home charting and navigating, as well as knowing a large extensive record on fishes, but nothing about tactics really. Thomas got himself surrounded by a large amount of Qadir and was only able to fight out with the help of his retainers who both performed poorly, especially Darius Valor who got a slash in his side from a Qadir sword. Despite the stumbling in the right flank, Ulric's direction eventually made them victorious and the vanguard and flanks of the Qadir were crushed.
The central column thus commenced severely outnumbering the Qadir force with no flanks or vanguard to support them while the Regalian column had both. Aron Santorski and Liam typhonus jointly commanded two halves of the central column into battle that quickly became a route on the Qadir side. Despite the route however, the Regalian forces chose to save their strength and stay back, rather preserving their forces for setting up a foothold in Aslaqqa. In the perspective of the battle itself, Liam Typhonus performed poorly in comparison to Aron Santorski who was really the only officer worthy of any credit in this battle. Maximillian Typhonus and Casimir Santorski adequately provided tactical support, though Maximillian obviously outshined Casimir as he had no conventional tactical training and relied solely on books and manuals from his youth. Thurinor Aglarebon performed well in battle, preventing Liam Typhonus from being pushed into a corner multiple times, though Kristoph Amsel was very badly wounded. He was crushed when a camel fell dead onto him, breaking several ribs and both his arms. He was dragged off the battle, unlikely to be able to participate in any future battles any time soon. Marcel Santorski performed poorly as a bodyguard to his brother, bettered by Luna Levine.
The battle while a resounding victory for the Regalian side, had upset the court somewhat. All officers performed poorly on the battlefield with the exception of Aron Santorski, and the only shining examples of good soldiers on the field were two Elves and a woman. Ulric Typhonus's regard had somewhat risen in face of the defeats in the past, though no crippling defeat was inflicted on the Qadir. Prince Isdevli Osmanli was able to retreat without losing a single officer and retained nearly half his army while Regalia only lost a few hundred.
