On may the 24th, Ulric’s battle camps were awoken to the horns of battle of a Qadir army approaching. Prince Isdevli Osmanli of Osmanliyye was leading a 10,000 strong host against the Regalian troops, hoping to catch them outnumbered and off guard. Ulric rapidly summarized the battle plan and formed the lines, putting his bet with a four armed trident formation, a very unconventional battleplan lacking a central column, breaking from the usual regalian tradition of flanking a central line. Prince Isdevli was taken off guard by this switch of tactics, and replied with a normal trident formation, hoping he could pincer both the vanguards and the flanks and push them into each other back to back. With the battle proceeding, Qadir cavalry charged between the lines to secure the loosened positions, before the Qadir infantry ran in and the battle commenced.

Aron Santorski and Alistair Coen were the left vanguard and flank respectively, finding their battle groups pushed against each other and surrounded by an overbearing Qadir force. Luckily for the Regalian forces, the Qadir officer corps of this army was abysmal and presented no real organized threat. The army was directed by the Prince of Osmanliyye alone, and so the Qadir troops had a considerable morale disadvantage. Atilio Amaya and Casimir Santorski managed to correctly orchestrate a rotating porcupine formation, cycling the troops from left to right like a spinning blade and large kite shield. The Qadir attempted to break the formation numerous times, but where Regalians fell, new marched forward and kept the lines stable. They were finally able to push out the Qadir troops, forcing them into a retreat as the lines surrounding them grew thin.

Aron Santorski fought competently where Alistair Coen received a cut on his leg and was incapacitated from the battle halfway through. Aron Santorski was able to excellently take over command and with the help of their retainers, victory was pressed. Marcel Santorski performed very well next to his brother, and Luna Levine once more distinguished herself excellently on the battlefield like a true maiden of war. Eranduril Teldallen and Ramone Diaz quickly switched to assist Aron, also performing well in the battle.

Liam Typhonus and Thomas Kade were on the right vanguard and flank respectively, finding their battle groups similarly pushed against each other and surrounded by an overbearing Qadir force. As opposed to the more defensive stance taken the left battle arm, Thomas and Liam opted for a more offensive tidal wave formation. When the Qadir surrounded them, Thomas and Liam together led a straight charge through the Qadir line with their retainers, breaking open the formation and allowing Regalian troops to counter encircle the encircling Qadir forces. This way it was now the Qadir that were pincered from both sides, fighting the steady forces in the center and the aggressive attackers from behind. Despite their glorious victory over the Qadir, causing a quick route, the actual battle performance of Liam and Thomas was lacking in spirit and vigor. Most of the praise came to the average soldiers, Typhonus and Kade bannermen. Their retainers performed similarly. Thurinor Agalrebon and Marek Dredros only just barely avoided injury from a wave of arrows, while Darius Valor performed averagely. Damian Steere was shot with an arrow in the shoulder, carried off the battle towards the end. Graeton Pileran and Maximillian Typhonus did fairly little during this phase of the battle, relying mostly on the direct aggressive stance of their officers to perform well.

Thomas Kade and Aron Santorski then led the remaining forces to charge after the retreating Qadir who had meanwhile set to an almost full route. The objective was to turn the route into a massive disorganized panic, and that objective was quickly achieved. With the encirclement broken, the officers and remaining retainers took to the horses, flanked by the Typhonus lancers. With a solid wedge formation, they charged into the Qadir lines, waves of green purple and silver crashing through the red lines.

The battle quickly turned into a slaughter house, with Prince Isdevli fleeing as far back as the Northern shores of Qadiriyye. The court responded positively to the performances of Aron Santorski and the creative yet unconventional battle tactics of Ulric Typhonus. New orders were issued for both the third, fourth and fifth armies. Ludwig Fuch’s army had already merged with the fifth, now forming the second army. Due to the relative easy victories the Typhonus army had secured, Ulric was placed at the head of the first army, helm of the invasion force.
