    • Garret has an angular jaw and cheek bone structure which is hidden by a goatee and a full beard. Overall his face is relaxed, having rounded ears, mouth, and a shorter forehead covered by his bangs. His eyes are narrower than others though this is easily overlooked by the large burn scar on his right eye. With his hair graying in streaks at a young age and his grizzled beard, Garret often puts his long hair back into a ponytail, letting his bangs loose.
    • Garret's body is a slightly tanned mural of scars, the most major of which are deep claw marks across his chest and burn scars around his legs. A tattoo of a Niloom is also present on his left shoulder, ocean like style though replaced with western Regalian bands with the Niloom in the middle growling. His right arm depicts a new tattoo of a Ceardian Bloodhound, brown in color with a white stripe running across its face as the hound bears it's teeth. Recently he has also lost his right hand which is now replaced by a dark wooden stump.
    • Loose casual clothing is normally worn by the man, sometimes Daendrocian style but normally just a red shirt, more notably you could spot Garret wearing his tattered old mercenary coat. Normally you wouldn't find Garret with piercings or accessories except a silver necklace around his neck showing two arming swords clashing. Items normally kept on him is a flask he carries everywhere, and his arming swords and daggers when permitted, one dagger being kept by his lower back.
    • Speaking Daendroque and a tiny bit of Parcal, Garret speaks in a laid back manner which quickly turns into a fast paced harsh tone when annoyed.

    Life Story
    Garret was born in the city of Arvost in Daenshore. His parents were both very poor and both of knew they couldn't support a child along with themselves. He would be cast away in a canal left to die though the guilt his mother felt overtook her and she saved him while the father left abandoning them both. Without a male figure the two lived in the streets, Garret still at a very young age watching his mother throw away her youth to raise him and eventually she died from sickness and neglect. Now alone Garret felt anger towards the world and the father that abandoned him. Desperately he turned to petty crime and gang violence as another orphan on the streets. He'd live this lifestyle until an older boy forced him into the arenas to fight or face starvation. After surviving the first battle and being paid what little a child would he continued to fight until an opportunity presented itself. Garret was arrested being involved in gang violence and in his sentence a guard took pity on him and offered him a place in the Arva'tal, the Arvost Privateer/guard force. Garret joined for housing and food and learned the basics of sailing and marine combat. Past his teenage years Garret met his father in chains being sentenced to be thrown in the cities sewers for his crimes. After begging his son to release him he was met with hatred as Garret blamed him for his mother's death and outright killed him, planting it as an accident. Soon afterward Garret fled the city in fear of being discovered and vowed to take the world for all it was worth in his mother's memory.

    Now a young adult Garret involved himself in lots of shady work such as privateer work, smuggling, and mercenary work. Creating connections and a bad reputation for himself Garret grew into a cunning man with self centered desires which would cut off most relationships besides that of his crew. Eventually he'd come to Regalia near the time of the Lo Occupation. There he was imprisoned during the siege and escaped to join the Marked men seeing it as a chance for power along with the benefit of his freedom. During his time with the marked men Garret would commit terrible acts in pursuit of power though in the end Lo died and the Marked men disappeared along with Pride, the leader of the marked. Falling into a deep depression due to his actions he though nonredeemable Garret despised the Arken Pride and vowed to kill him.

    Abandoning Regalia Garret set off once more to continue his information gathering and work more as a privateer. Eventually he'd return and create his own mercenary company the Niloom, later reformed into the Bloodhounds. After evading castration due to his crimes once more he'd be dejected from the swords once more and swore his sword to the lord Gallus Tyrannian as his retainer. Dedicating himself fully to the family in hopes of becoming something of himself he continued his work though his depression lingered from all those years ago and he felt himself in a stagnant position. After convincing a young women to marry him he'd set off abandoning her to start off as a captain once more. He'd grow old and become a captain of his own ship, along with forming another mercenary company as captain. Now he spends his days doing mundane tasks always thinking about the Arken he swore to kill and what else there was for him to accomplish.

      • Outside View: Garret would probably be seen as a laid back alcoholic. Though he is outgoing and flirtatious when speaking with others. Often joining in on others conversation just to be apart of something, otherwise when in lack of entertainment and left alone he turns Aloof, often staring off into space in thought. Finally Garret has a very on edge temper, often landing him in trouble when set off.



      • Inside View: Inside Garret is a mess, never allowing himself to open up to others due to the sheer embarrassment of doing so. He often bottles up his feelings to which then turns to a bottle and other addictions to just avoid the situations of the real world. So far the only persons he's ever opened up to was his parents, and most likely will remain independent in the near future.



      • Friends & Family: Garret can be seen as caring once he feels he developed a strong enough friendship with someone, often offering advice and counseling to others. This normally works out with how philosophical he gets at times, though with the lack of family he doesn't have anyone to turn to himself.



      • Morality: Garret lives a self-serving life, always fitting in with the mercenary type bands, and doing what makes him happy. Despite this being his main point of view, he does help other when needed If he feels like it. Overall he lives by his own code of pleasure, living life and fighting for what he believes is beautiful which often seems cruel to others..



      • Faith: Faith has always been a questionable subject fr Garret, rather than devoting his life to one set religion he often lives by philosophies and what seems logical to him. Not fearing what comes after death due to the fact that he often drinks to forget death and pain. He titles himself as a unionist and knows a short number of the creeds to make life easier for himself, though in reality it's all just questions he normally avoids in the end.

      • Sailor - Just as long as he has been a fighter, Garret has been a sailor. Throughout his adventures, the sea has always been a common pleasure whether is be his time in the Arva’tal or his time aboard the Spirit’s Blessings. And with his time at sea comes experience, Garret himself has the skills of a captain, being able to command a crew skillfully through naval battles and sailing. In fact Garret could be a captain, though he falls short in lacking any navigational training, meaning if he was to ever take the title of captain, he would need a navigator beside him throughout his journey.

      • Gladiator - Garret has been a duelist his entire life, earning a reputation as a excellent gladiator in some circles. This talent extends to many different combat proficiencies such as being able to manipulate the environment and his opponent, being tutored in the school of Turall, and most importantly, make a show of it all. His style is that of variety using weighted nets, chains, rope, daggers, and swords all to his arsenal of dirty tricks. Overall he is very skilled in these battles and finds the concept of arena fighting to be that of pure enjoyment and beauty, often praising the sport and jumping to any chance to prove himself.

    Personality Traits

    • Outgoing - Garret is one of those figures that don't bother waiting for someone to approach him in conversation. Instead he will simply walk up to them, introduce himself, and then move from there. This trait has allowed him to speak to someone he just met as if they where life long friends, though being outgoing dosn't stop him from voicing his opinions on certain problems he finds need brought up. And sometimes this leads to an unneeded argument, though in the end he sees his outgoing behavior as one of his greatest traits.

    • A Fat Cock - Garret has the fattest cock in all of Regalia

    • Witty- While the crude look Garret presents dis-ways from this, he can actually be pretty witty at times. Though this talent isn't offered in a good sense as most of the time he sparks something clever, it's some sort of backlash statement to someone, anyhow he finds this trait useful while practicing wordplay with others.

    • Joker - Garret loves making jokes and laughing with others, a joke is just a start to a good time. Finding someone with a similar taste in humor is something Garret looks for in people. A good drink and a fun time of drinking and laughter is what Garret hopes to instigate with his humor. Though sometimes his jokes could be seen as a bit offensive, though he sees this as just 'humor' and nothing more.

    • Flirtatious - Enjoying the company of a female just comes naturally to Garret. Paired with his outgoing behavior, he dosn't mind throwing the occasional complement or two when speaking to someone he fancies. Though this sometimes lands him in a spot of trouble, but that dosn't stop him from attempting to impress the ladies.

    • Aloof - Regalia is an eventful place at times, but when it reaches that time where nothing is going on, Garret just gets into a super uninterested or bored state of mind. During this time he will probably be sitting at a table with a drink and book in hand. Dazing off and unobservant is something you would notice while he is in this mood.

    • Crude - Spending most of his time with mercenaries, Garret developed a sort of crude personality. While normally outgoing and such, he could be seen as crude to others not used to the sort of behavior. The behavior beings rowdy jokes, heavy drinking, and other things seeming unpleasant to certain others.

    • Forgetful - Memorizing someones name that he met only a year ago is not Garret's strong suit. Forgetting names, streets, locations, etc is one of Garret's lesser quirks, though he tries his best. After getting to know someone for a while Garret can start to have a vague understanding of who they are without forgetting as soon as they depart from another.

Not soon after he also recruited himself to Arvost’s military force, one of the Arva’tal in which his service gave him a early grasp of naval service and manipulation of tools. Therefor as years past Garret became an incredible contester or of age Gladiator, earning himself a reputation, though one small compared to that of a champions. Garret’s fighting style would adapt to that of dueling or small free for alls, becoming quite adept against single opponents by using different skills such as weighted nets and manipulation of the environment. Eventually though, wonderlust would take ahold the better of Garret, causing him to set off with a crew of friends and an old captain, so with a heartfelt goodbye- Garret set off to his next journey.

    And thus they were off, the crew was skillful in their endeavor, most members of which came from the Arva’tal. They traveled all along Aloria, short of uncharted realms, becoming a band of swords for hire and makeshift privateers. During their journey the lot became addicted to the freedom, developing a code of pleasure which seemed rather pirate-like. Though the crew did involved themselves in shady work, nothing heavily illegal was committed to seperate them from common pirates.Spirit’s Blessing was the name of the ship, an ironic name due to how rowdy the crew was. The addiction to freedom further increased as months passed, Garret and his lot drinking themselves silly and bedding wives without a care in the world, often fleeing cities before any impact of what they’ve done would catch up with them. And so garret traveled like this for years, eventually falling back to fighting as he fought in the pits of Farah’deen, and the arenas of mercenary bands or cities honoring the gladiatorial sports. Pleasure filled nights did bring along danger, often Spirit’s Blessings would flee, and one occasion almost cost their lives. Being attacked by Songaskia pirates between Farah’deen and Old Ceardia, and the attack was almost fatal, Spirit’s Blessings being brought to the verge of sinking only foiled by Garret’s leading in a last ditch effort to board the pirates. The attempt was successful and the crew won the day with their lives.

    Being forced to dock at the Zenithian, Garret was stranded in the lands for a month before being able to set off again. The experience shook him to reality, he suddenly wanted more in his life and was offered two choices, take lead as the captain of Spirit’s Blessings or settle down. His choice was to settle down, despite his love of the sea Garret had no sense of Navigation and while he could command a ship, he could never navigate one. And so he requested to be taken to Arvost, where he learned his parents movement to Regalia and thus- he followed. Reaching Regalia Garret learned of his mother's death, the news shook him and he fled again, facing injury of an explosion to the face while he was off. Soon after his father’s death would come during the Lo occupation, slain by her deathlings. Garret responded with hate, growing a desire for revenge that would take him to serve the Marked and further his wrongs. Afterwards all that he had done caught to him, being granted a mercenary captain, he instituted the Bloodhounds Corp under his lead as captain
    Life Story v.1

    Garret was born to a commoner family in the city of Arvost, being an only son he was blessed with good education and compassion from both parents. Swordsmanship and Literature was the two most pressed subjects brought onto Garret, his father offering the studies of his knowledge on the School of Turall. Arvost influenced many cultures to Garret's life, showing him for a love for many things. Being born under the cardinal Varmir Dolowise, he was pressed into a more militaristic lifestyle, brought into the Arva'tal as a recruit and his participation as an upcoming pit fighter and Zweihand Duelist. Taught a Duel-Weapon Zweihand fighting style from mentors which he soon paired with his Turall teachings. His determination would show as he kept up with these jobs and hobbies, sparring with friends and combatants in his free time. After four years of fighting in the arena he became a Geschickt in Zweihand and well known by others. Though Wanderlust got to him and he decided to venture with a band of northerners by sea. The news left Garret's father disappointed in his sons decision to throw away a promising career in the arena, though rather than disown his son, he decided to support the decision and the two left on good terms.


    Sailing with his original crew didn't take long to dissolve. After a couple months of travel the group started to fade away, different crew members coming and going. Despite the falling out, Garret stayed with the ship.

    Traveling all along Aloria, obtaining a philosophy . Living by the code of pleasure, do what they want, live how they want. The code seemed similar to that of a pirates, though the group made sure to refrain from any heavy illegal activity, despite such they where seen as common mercenaries. Calling the ship, Spirit's Blessing, purposely ironic due to the crews rowdy nature. Nights went by, stopping at taverns and getting black-out drunk, inviting ladies of many different cultures to accompany them on the ship. Living life how they wanted, and became a family of themselves. As they traveled between Old Ceardia and Farahdeen the crew was met by pirates, a naval battle commencing resulting in heavy causalities on The Spirit's Blessings. Pirates attempted a boarding on the ship, though assembling his companions, Garret lead the men to an on-ship battle against the pirates. Though heavily outnumbered, the pirates lacked swordsmanship and were forced to surrender. The battled ended in a stalemate, the attackers leaving with their lives, and Spirit's Blessing leaving with a heavily damaged ship and low morale crew.


    Spirit's Blessing stopped at the tip of Zenithan Lands, the ship leaking and the crew shaken up, spending a few weeks stuck at the port and raising money to afford a rebuild of the ship. After they finally obtained the means for repair they sailed to Arvost, upon which entering Arvost, Garret learned that his parents have moved to the Military State of Regalia. It was this time he decided to settle down and assist his parents to the new environment, sailing to Regalia, Garret said his goodbyes to the ship and crew. Upon meeting with his father he learned of his mothers death. The news was a shock to Garret, asking he learned it was from a disease of some sort, though he soon came to peace with the passing. Garret insisted on moving to Regalia in the hopes of finding a stable occupation and starting a stable life. Seeming to obtain this ambition during his close call with death, he simply wished to earn enough money to own his own tavern and start a peaceful life.

Soon after his father’s death would come during the Lo occupation, slain by her deathlings. Garret responded with hate, growing a desire for revenge that would take him to serve the Marked, leading to more wrong-doings. Afterwards all that he had done caught to him, being granted a mercenary captain, he instituted the Bloodhounds Corp under his lead as captain.

    After the mercenaries disbanded he managed to keep in contact with a couple men, using each other as sources for contracts and potential money making schemes. In total a hundred men still use the bloodhounds as their banner, spread across the world along with Garret's bastards. While they don't work under Garret he still keeps in contact only when needed in situations requiring underground sources and such.

    Hello, I am here to Peer Review this piece!

    Basic Information
    • For the Main Ambition, where does this desire to marry come from? Somehow out of the death of his mother? Expand on that more possibly in the life story section.
    Personality
    • Alcoholic isn't so much a personality trait as it it perhaps a weakness or maybe, one of his likes is Drinking. Consider a replacement for that, and possibly combine it with Joker to form Jovial, Fun-Loving, or keep Joker and modify it a bit.
    • Similarly with Easily Bored, maybe, Aloof would better suit it.
    • Book-Worm isn't exactly a personality trait, but maybe instead do Informed or Learned.
    • With Bad Memory, perhaps Forgetful would suit that better.
    • Overall, also try to connect these traits and the rest with how he acts or would respond in interactions and how he would present himself to others.
    Strengths
    • Your Strengths overall could use small alternations or larger base changes. For intelligent, maybe make it more clear what his weaknesses in knowledge are as well. Horseback Riding, he was on a ship for several years, did he find time in what time he had off to rise horses and keep up this skill? For Swordsmanship, try to mention in the life story more about his training in swords and the like, I cannot find any mention of it when he was out at sea.

    • Consider maybe adding one of the personality traits as a weakness once you've redone them.
    Life Story
    • Overall, a very interesting read, but maybe mention more terms from Arvost's lore such as the Arva’than and what kinds of people he met when he was training in his combat arts.
    Overall, this was a very enjoyable read through and looks to be shaping up to be an interesting character @Varisus , be sure to tag me once you're done your changes and such if you want me to give another go at it.

    My Review:
    • Body Build for Turall needs to be a fair bit more dense than Toned, with Ripped being far more suited to the skillset of the school.
    • Addictive as a weakness should be "Addict" due to how he is addicted to different substances and feels.
    • Zweihanders (Or Regis Händer as our lore calls them) are not at all a weapon of the School of Turall. Additionally, the sword is a double-handed one and thus impossible to pair with anything.

    • His Cultural Points are 30 when they should be 20 as he lost 10 by entering into a school in the normal Proficiency Points area. Please correct this.

    • Your Basic Information needs to be adjusted to the most recent form of the Character Application Template. In addition, "Ailorian" is no longer acceptible, Ailor and perhaps their culture as well are though.
    • You need to take the Proficiency stuff out of the Spoiler they currently sit in, it's a needed part of the application and must be public.
    • The Body Shape section needs to show the calculations to reaching the Body Shape Stat you're using.
    • Your cannot be in control of 50, 10 or even 5 mercenaries in the Capital City at this time, from an RP standpoint, it is a position of power you cannot possess as the character. You can state you ONCE had such people under your command but you can't have any at your beck and call currently.
