Archived Game Mode Suggestion. {mob Arena With Massive Mobs}

As a PvPer i often darkroom for countless hours with no real entertainment. Sure killing mobs is fun but it kinda gets er well boring. With that being said after someone else sorta have suggested it i felt i should request it or suggest it on the forums. I think many Darkroomers would enjoy a massive mob arena. Heres all of what im thinking.

  • Each round you survive there will be more mobs.
  • Every alternating round or so the mobs will upgrade (from white, blue, green, etc)
  • Every 5 rounds a mini boss round (Yellow)
  • Every 10-15 rounds a major boss round (Pinks)
  • Depending on how high you can go will determin the severity of prizes.
  • Mob Drops and random money drops are dissabled.
  • Max teams of 4 players. Each only gets 1 life a round but respawns the next round. If all players on a team dies the game ends and they will have to start from round 1 again.
  • Maybe have classes such as Tank, Archer, Healer, Axes, etc.
  • Consider having McMMO enabled in the arena so you can gain levels on stats as well.
  • Some prize suggestions: 10 or so regals every 5 rounds (even if you die on 5th), Completing a Major boss round awards 1 RANDOM god item, Completing 15 rounds gives you a 50 regal bonus. Every 10 rounds gives you a random lot of items (say 16 quartz blocks), Say the mode only has 50 rounds completing it entirely will give you a special lore item exclusive to completing Massive Mob Arena.

I know this sounds very basic and theres game modes exactly or simular other places but i feel it would be unique with the massive touch on it. Also i feel it would add a fun Non-PvP/Eco way to earn a fair amount of money and items. As a person that loves round based survival modes i can deffinently say this would be one of my top favorites on massive if it was implemented.

This *needs* to be looked at very seriously once pvp and everything else gets fixed. If that could be implemented, that would quite possibly be the best thing added imo since I've been around, probably even beating kitpvp. I will fully support this if the topic gets brought up again if/when current issues are resolved.

This is a very interesting proposal you have. I anticipate, however, that if something like this is ever implemented that it would be quite a ways down the line as it would require a decent amount of coding from the Tech department. Their priority at the moment is fixing our major bugs and similar issues as well as coding for EULA related issues.

That being said, I could certainly imagine this being possible in a simplified format as a staff-run event. At the moment this is not possible either due to bugs with Massivemobs. Once these bugs are fixed, however, this can certainly be discussed as a possible new event design for us to run depending on how much time we anticipate the event would take. We have the ability to create mobs only available for events with either specialized or no drops.

As much as id like events i really would prefer it to be a constant game mode like Kitpvp. So i can choose to grind that instead of DRing my life away
 
I think it should be additional to DRs (believe it or not, there are some people out there who love DRing just the way it is). If it can't be implemented as a constant mode, because our techies are busy with other things, I think it's a generous offer from staff to cover this idea with an event.

@Neckerei : How would a healer in a team of four work? Health pots tipped arrows?

Well as omnomivore said there are really two ways to go

The staff held event since you can have a hidden staff running commands to spawn the mobs

Or have to wait a while for this to get to the top of the tech department priority list so they can code a freestanding gamd.

Do those work yet? I knew there was an issue with those because in order with arrows to work you need to be able to hit the person. But you technically don't hit them if you are in the same faction or Allied or truced.

I think it should be waited on as a permanent and possibly an event till its full on implemented. I feel that would be the best way to go.
 
I really want to see this added in. It'd give me something other to do than farm chorus fruit and melons all day like I've spent the past 2 days doing. xD

Well we had those Arena events at those festivals.Perhaps we could use Neckerei's idea as a weekly event that we the players can gamble on.Penny bidding against a computer is boring.
