Backstory

Upon the death of the dwarven empire, Clan Mardöll took flight in a hurry, grabbing whatever possesions they held, and selling them to buy ships, taking with them as many dwarves as would follow. With these ships, the Mardöll's and their folk took to the sea, fleeing south, knowledgable that their time had come to and end. Away from Ellador, they intended to take refuge amongst the Veilheim. However, a powerful storm sent them southwards, and for many years they were lost at sea, often rejected by the lands they arrived at- Until they finally came to rest at the island of Basta, where they carved a territory for themselves. From there, their goal has always been to reconquer the holds of the dwarfs.

Clan Mardöll then became the leading figure amongst the dwarven population, and from that point onward, history held little of interest for these dwarves, even after the appearence of the Regalia Empire. Their culture mixed with the local Ithanian, and eventually turned into the Manninor culture, distinct from the ithanian in how much dwarven it was. Even when Unionism came, they upheld traditions and values from their Fornoss faith. They built their castles, and business, and architecture, and as such, it is perhaps why in 147 AC, the young heiress of the family, Jnöra Mardöll, caught the eye of Nolvenn. After a night of passion, and nine months, Jnöra would give birth to Frouwa Mardöll, and her younger twin sibiling, Fraiwa Mardöll, who was not born with any blessings.

From a young age, Frouwa was expected to be a triumphant figure for the masses- She studied for most of her youth in Calemberg's military academies- And long after her graduation, she fought in the Krainivaya campaigns, earning her Knighthood, and a great honor for the Mardölls- Which helped her earn a case to Emperor Allamaria for recognition of the dwarven minority in Basta. After this, she returned home, and married her suitor- A young dwarf of a prominent commoner family named Rödr. Yet their union, albeit sweet, would be cut short with the beggining of the many campaigns of Emperor Allestrain I, in which Valsyria swiftly rose through the ranks with many victories and triumphs. And so she lead unionist armies against the many different kingdoms, eventually raised to Imperial Officer, and even becoming friends with Arch-Chancellor Alexander. With the eventual death of Allestrain, the time finally came to return home, and settle roots proper. The Mardölls were amongst the many Brass Bloods that were granted noble status around this age, becoming the first dwarven noble family the Empire had seen, becoming cause of celebration for dwarves around the Empire. It also marked, in 213, the birth of Frouwa's first child, Nossa, and in 247, the second, Gimerse. Frouwa also joined the Tyrian Order around this time, rising through the ranks of Imperial Guard.

Morgan's administration then eventually came- But Frouwa herself was little involved with it, focusing more on the matters at Basta, expanding business and the involvements of House Mardöll throughout other territories, and expanding the arts and culture of dwarves with an Ithanian spin, bringing forth a golden half-century to the Manninor dwarfs.

When the half-way point of the century came around, and the Empire returned on the war path, Frouwa once more took on her warrior persona, and fought many conflicts abroad- Fighting in Perrion and dunden- And even being deployed to fight in the Heartland Uprising. In a very distinct way, she stood out from other officers in that she constantly fought on the frontlines along her regiments, endearing her to many of the common troops and commanders, for to see Nolven's daughter, often shorter than most, yet charging the first in line, brought valor to their hearts. She was experienced, too, and her triumphs became source of pride for the dwarfs of the Empire.

However, her return home was void of joy, for in 270, her husband, Rodr, took to the sea, having bought and hired a crew. As her daughters told it, he too wished to help his wife's triumphs, and while she had been away, he'd delved deep into the matters of the dwarven holds. Somehow, someway, he had reached something, a clue, an idea, an artifact that would serve as a way that would ensure the triumph of the dwarves over the dakkar once and for all. He was never seen again, but even now, Frouwa holds hope, and has not remarried.

Conflict came in the Chrysant War, a war that despite the successes of her conqueror persona, Frouwa would forevermore see as her greatest moral failing, for the actions that had to be comitted onto the Allar- And fate would have her wounded on the fields, causing her to return home. That, would be most appreciated at the end of the conflict, when a Slizzar assasin attempted to infiltrate her household, and murder her and her children. Needless to say, she stopped the assasin despite her wounded state. Forevermore, she'd grow to despise the Slizzar after this event.

After the events of the Undead Scare, and the Ramon War, Frouwa had a change in heart- And requested to be transferred to the Aelrrigan Brezelourien Santel Chapter. While partly, the reason given was to protect and safeguard the holy armaments of the faith, it is through this new order that she desires to eventually, find her husband once more.
