    Personality and Abilities

How would your character respond to experiencing Fear?

Faraine experiences fear in categories. There is the fear that follows a battle - which she knows is fear to be overcome. Then there is the fear of the unknown, which she endures in a far more chaotic and confrontational manner than anything found on a battlefield. Mastery of fear towards action and goals is the path she tries to follow, unless it is a rare fear that has been pushed down and ignored.

How would your character respond to experiencing Stress?

Faraine both physically and mentally retreats to work through her stress at a slow, methodical pace. Reason, meditation, prayer, and exercise are the ways she falls back on the most.

How would your character express feeling Happy?

Not necessarily one to betray her feelings to those she does not trust, public happiness might be expressed by a less-acidic tone to her comments, or a rare act of charity. Privately, she is more willing to spoil those she favors with gifts when she herself is happy.

How does your character view Law and Authorities?

The law of her own people is one to be publically touted and privately manipulated. Law and authority, in any culture, is seen as an extension of the ruling power. To those authorities she scorns or feels are false and unworthy, they are seen as corrupt apparatuses meant to be undermined.

How does your character feel about Races other than their own?

Faraine sees Altalar as the superior race, and cheated of their rightful place as the leaders of Aloria. Other races can range from barely tolerable to completely animalistic, in her eyes. Her behavior towards them is dictated by her own personal set of goals at any given time.

How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths?

Faraine holds true to the worship of Estel and the pantheon, both the inner and outer courts. Respecting all deities within the pantheon, she traditionally gives special attentions and prayers to Tal’Sieth, Stalwart of Guardianship. Other religions are considered infantile and self-serving, beyond the respect of weighing them as possible equals.

How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world?

There is a line between magic used for the good of her people, and to damn them. Justifying magic as a means to an end comes naturally to her, as experience and practice demonstrates the truth of the matter. No one thing in magic can be considered completely good, or completely evil. Void worship has both condemned many of her kind to terrible lives, but has also pointed out the weaknesses within her own people. Magic, therefore, is a tool to be wielded by those who can resist the temptations of the void.

How does your character feel towards their family?

Faraine prides herself on the strengths taught to her by her family. They are aging, and have remained in the Allorn Empire. Family, to her, is the primary source of learning and navigation into the world. She traces her innate powers, personalities, and birthright as an integral part of her beliefs that the elven empire is meant to rise again.

What is your character's biggest insecurity?

Faraine has innumerable insecurities all centered around her ability to meet her own goals. Whether she will be strong, clever, or opportunistic enough to accomplish.

What is your character the most proud of about themselves?

She is proud of her ability to plan ahead, maintain her sense of control and goals. Patience, motivation, and persistence are part of her intrinsic makeup that drives her to continue to invest in her plans. Faraine is proud of her ability on the battlefield, and in the precision and stamina she has in fighting. It is in her nature to believe in her own beauty and skills, and to condescend to those with whom she must tolerate.

What motivates your character to move forward and better their life?

Faraine’s motivation lies in the decline of the Allorn Empire, and her wish to see the return of elves as the most powerful faction on the world’s stage. She sees currently political and economic structures as a threat to the continued success of the altalar. On a more personal level, Faraine regards herself as capable of seeing the big picture, and making wise decisions quickly, along with being entitled to success and the life she wants.

What is your character's biggest fear?

Faraine does not enjoy acknowledging her weaknesses, and underplays her occasional loss of direction and lack of confidence in her decisions. Faraine has a morality that is typical to most well-off altalar – one of moral superiority and willful ethics. To her, any indignities visited upon other races than altalar are a means to an end for her people. Her fears lie in not realizing the goals she has put in place for herself.

    Life Story

    Birth, Childhood, Adolescence (0-30)

Faraine Olawenys is born in 227 AC to two Central Altalar parents in an Altalar principality. She is descended from an old Allorn Scalay line, and is raised with considerable wealth thanks to this, alongside numerous other siblings.

Faraine discovers her magical abilities at the age of eight, and comes under the tutelage of another mage hired by her parents to hone her magic to its greatest extent. This training dominates her teenage years.

At the age of 30, Faraine embarks on her Year of the Bright Star, going on a pilgrimage across the lands of the old Allorn Empire, paying tribute at each Pantheon shrine until she reaches the Shrine of Talea, where she chooses Tal’Sieth, the Stalwart of Guardianship, as her patron god.

    Early Adulthood (31-60)

After receiving her ring, Faraine enlisted in her kingdom’s military; serving under Altalar generals in skirmishes all along the Teled peninsula. Learning how to navigate a battlefield, make calls during the heat of battle, and understanding the way combat and decision-making combine into true skill, take up the majority of these years.

Far from home, Faraine learned how to navigate life on her own away from family. It was also the first time she came into extended contact with other races. The contact with the rest of the world and its various conflicts begin to shape Faraine’s ideas of altalar supremacy and the need to restore the empire to its former glory.

    Recent Decades (61-90)

Faraine has continued to fight in the defensive wars her people engage in. Never making time for a family or to consider settling down, her life has consisted of training regimens during the seasons of war, and honing her political knowledge during times of peace. Finding time between war campaigns to engage with some of the more politically savvy military mentors within her unit, Faraine has slowly learned how to use her talents and planning to gain prestige and promotions from her senior officers.

Her goals have, since the world continually erupts into war, attempting to rise in the military, and eventually strike out on her own to make connections within foreign nations. Building a small, faithful, steady group of zealous, like-minded elves who believe in the restoration of the Allorn Empire, Faraine has made her way to Regalia with the purpose of grasping the culture, people, and goals that the ailors choose.

I see nothing wrong with this app, but I notice some of your personality bits are scraping the bare minimum. I'd love to see you expand on these as you learn more about the character and play her.

Being that this is a well written app, I have no qualms marking it as approved!
