How would your character respond to experiencing Fear? Having been raised alongside prideful warriors, hardened veterans, and politicians, as well as being a war veteran himself, Edmure excels at suppressing his fear and keeping his head cool during stressful situations. As long as he maintains a sense of control or understanding of the situation, he can remain relatively calm and continue to plan ahead. The second he loses oversight, or encounters something terrifying which he cannot explain with logic, he would panic. During these panic attacks he tends to mumble his thought process to himself in an attempt to drown out his instincts. Typical signs of fear for Edmure include: Sweating. Increased heartrate and alertness. Jumpiness How would your character respond to experiencing Stress? Much like fear, stress is something he has been taught to handle throughout his life. He generally has the foresight to avoid stressful situations, but sometimes if his workload becomes too heavy a task, or if his plans unexpectedly fail him, he tends to recede into a similar state of panic where he will begin pacing the room and mumbling to himself. Depending on his time situation, he will sit down at a table and try to draw schematics or diagrams of the situation to try and help him get a grip. If all tactics fail him, Edmure would try to flee the situation altogether. How would your character express feeling Happy? Being of male noble birth, Edmure has more or less always had plenty of opportunity to pursue his dreams and thus he tends to feel quite fulfilled, if not even grateful. Contrary to many of his wealthy peers, Edmure acknowledges his privilege and having served as a law enforcer, seeing the less dainty sides of city life, he has become more grateful for what he has. Thus, Edmure is rarely seen in a poor mood, and is very content with his life most of the time. He takes great pleasure in the smaller victories in life, but tends to bask most fervently in the glory of an achievement or a larger victory he worked hard to reach. Happiness comes to him quite naturally and while the man might seem a bit more jolly or cheerful during times of contentedness, it is hardly a large change. How does your character view Law and Authorities? Edmure is incredibly respectful of the authorities. He holds the view that without order, discipline, and control, men are no more than beasts, albeit with far more malicious intents than any ordinary wolf. Edmure always seeks to cooperate with the authorities, if not trying to involve himself with the authorities to actively help them solve a situation. Edmure has had many years, both serving as a law enforcer, and as a military general, which would explain his stance well. How does your character feel about Races other than their own? As an Ailor and a Unionist, Edmure believe in the superiority of the ailor race. He, however, does acknowledge that ailor are only surperior on a spiritual level and remains woefully aware of his species physical inferiority to other races, and sometimes even intellectual inferiority. He holds the potential of other species in high regard, and generally finds that humanity will never be able to fulfil their goals without relying on the strengths of other races, as slaves, soldiers, or scholars. Edmure is certaintly not opposed to using non-human units in his military strategies. How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths? Unionism is the only true belief for him, though he tends not to engage too zealously in its practice unless riled up. He has his theories about most of the religions simply being misinterpretations of the spirit's nature, and thus he can excuse their failed prophets for the most part. He is repulsed by void worship, viewing this worship of carnal emotions and sin as a clear lack of self-discipline in life. He finds Old Gods worship fascinating, albeit a bit primitive, while Estale worshippers tend to have his respect for their generally more peaceful nature, with few notable exceptions. Edmure disagrees with the sacking of temples and religiously motivated pogroms on all other than those related to the void. How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world? Magic, for Edmure, is a very circumstantial aspect of life. He agrees that some forms of magic draw on energies heretical to the spirit, while he can see the clear benefit of integrating other forms of magic into ailor society and especially in a militaristic regard. Having studied warfare all his life, he easily recalls the absolutely crushing advantages which magic had given an army in almost every circumstance and event it was used. He rarely expresses his positive view of some magics, but even so, believes it a resource to be harnessed for the good of mankind. How does your character feel towards their family? "By the power of the wolf pack.." Such goes Edmure's personal and family motto. Ever since his earliest years, Edmure was taught the extreme importances of kin, teamwork, and duty, or more specifically, one's duty to the pack. Being a very familial man himself, although he might not be the biggest fish in the pond, nor the most social individual in the family, Edmure harbors extreme loyalty and close bond to those related to him by blood. The man's undying loyalty to his family transcends even that of religion or society, believing that in the end, his house will endure if they stick together, beyond empires and faiths. What is your character's biggest insecurity? Not having scored any large achievements for his family, leading to a feeling of being dead weight. He is also a tad anxious about large crowds as well as strongly emotional or spiritual events. For an example, Edmure rarely attends mass in the cathedrals, instead praying with his eye of unionism chain, outside of the cathedral during the mass. What is your character the most proud of about themselves? His endurance and willingness to keep trying for the sake of his peers. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? Failure from which learning can be obtained. Victories which indicate his progress in the right direction. Encouragement and advice from his peers and especially family elders. What is your character's biggest fear? Expulsion from his family or social isolation. The death of his family, or the ruin of his house due to his own mistake. First Paragraph: To most people, Edmure would come off as a witty and mindful man who is often caught up in his studies and hobbies of philosophy and strategical warfare. He strictly maintains his posture and remains eloquent at all times in an almost ithanian fashion. He can also have a militaristic feel to him, his attitude sometimes turning a bit stern or commanding, even slightly apathetic if he needs to adress a situation subjectively. If provocated enough, Edmure will turn arrogant and cruel, a colder side of him taking hold of his personality than usual, he is however rational and it is not difficult to talk him out of that state. He also holds a strong an conservative sense of properness and respect. Second Paragraph: The man tends to neglect his own emotions for the most part, striving for whatever is deemed socially acceptable in his mind, and whatever is best for the family. In truth however, he is a troubled soul, blaming himself somehow for the death of his father and fighting an internal battle between his more cold-hearted side, and the passionate and artisan child that he once was. For the most part it holds a middle ground, and he is more likely to show the cruel side to random folk. Besides that he is lonely as his relatives and friends are all getting married and he struggles to fit in with the remained of his family. Third Paragraph: He holds an inherent love and admiration for his family. His kin will always be those he puts first and while he doesn’t always show it equally well, he feels very at home, and is happy with the family he has, eventhough they have occassional discussions and arguments. To friends, he is caring and wise. Edmure will often offer advice and guidance to those who need it. He is a shoulder to cry on, a friend to drink with, and a lover with a flair for the romantical and poetic side of it. Fourth Paragraph: Edmure is motivated by his principles of the unity of humans and devotion to Unionism. His morals are a bit conservative, in favor of retaining the old ailor values and rejecting the interference of liberal political parties or 'misguided' prophets. His morality would generally be considered a lawful neutral, believing strongly in hierarchy and structured organisation. He generally takes a middle ground on most controversial topics, even though he is a tad more conservatively inclined. He very rarely acts upon his political opinion, but is happy to share his views if asked. He likes to retain a sense of neutrality and, above all, practicality. Thus, he generally avoids taking sides unless his family is involved. Edmure doesn't know Warren too well, but he knows that William respects him, and so does he. He has always frowned upon the flirtatious ways of this Coen. Milahme Howlester @D3RPOSAURUS : "She get's to your heart in several ways. With charme, or with a blade" William's sister whom he met together with William when they first aquainted. He always admires her strength and courage. Willard Howlester: "Cranky and pissy. But in a funny and slightly lovable way." Edmure first met Willard when he was in the resistance. A lot happened but Edmure holds nothing against him. Devona Howlester : "Hurt my sister, and I will hurt you tenfold." Edmure's sister and the person he holds most dear of all. He is very protective of her and doesn't like seeing her around men. Melissandre Howlester: "My loving mother. Oh how I miss her gentle voice in these harsh times." Hrodgar was yet another rolemodel for Edmure whom he looked up to much. He mourned his death more than many in the family. Wulfric Howlester: "Hmm.. I wonder.." Edmure's deceased father, he always wondered how he died and was devastated upon his initial death. Dianne Black: @darkarely : "Glad she married Christopher.. Of all people he will treat her well." Edmure's cousin and another individual held quite dear to him. He always keeps a protective eye on her just incase. Luckily." A good friend he met in fort Kronau during the Kronau resistance days. Jannik Sinclair @TutiDias: "A good man once. How far he has fallen." Another friend from the resistance. Edmure has helped plan a few battles with him. His recent disgrace in Obermark has worsened his relationship with Edmure. Benedict Laine (Deceased) @Seidou: "Good lad.. Sad he ended up the way he did." A younger man who was in the Kronau Resistance too. Edmure gave him a few sparring lessons and had almost gotten a bit of fatherly feeling for him. She was in the resistance as well, and since then he has bonded quite well with her. He enjoys their chats and finds them quite humerous at times. Maria Bigge @SlyChung: "I wish we could have spend more time together. She was dear to me." An old love interest, they are not on very good terms. Spoiler: Enemies N/A Childhood-Early Adulthood. On the 10th of April 271 AC, Edmure Artairé Howlester was conceived by Melissandre Moreau and Wulfric Coen. He was named after his 5th great-grandfather who was a successful Coen tactician who fought off many attacks on their old keeps. He was raised at the Chateau Loup Blanc in Merinvague along with his sister Devona. Edmure was a passionate boy, at first, not featuring any of the warrior spirit and honor-bound ideals of his battle-eager cousins but with a powerful obsession with strategy and board games, such as chess. He preferred to take his time and sit back to think about an issue instead of barging through it. He was commonly found in the family garden, reading books or playing a board game against a servant or a friend, demonstrating high levels of mental capabilities and versatility. His mother taught him to play the piano and he initially took a liking to the musical arts and he would come to study nodes and the like. Edmure eventually wanted to become a conductor, his oversight and pristine mind falling in good line with the ranks of conductors, and his mother got him an apprenticeship under a local conductor in a nearby city. This was, however, until his father discovered. He proclaimed that no son of his would become some bloody cheironomist and instead his father shoved a blade in his hand and began practising with him. He eventually gave up on his musical career, and once they moved to the mainline's castle, his cousins only riled up his battle-spirit even more so. Edmure always had a more scholarly pursuit than his cousins however. He sought to understand the philosophy and intellectual aspects behind war. It was around this time that he started participating in chess competitions. Early Adulthood - Adulthood. Later attending the school of Marshalry, Edmure found himself among the most elite and capable children and men of the empire. He quickly adjusted to the stern attitude around the school and built a wall of apathy around him, until his expression seemed almost grim and unapproachable to those around him. There wasn't much to do for recreation apart from the academy's chess league. After some years, as he grew older, he and his fellow comrades begun taking trips off of the premises to party with the common folk and dance with the ladies. Eventually, they were caught and reprimanded when they tried to sneak into a nearby griffer institution, some of them were thrown out, but Edmure's teacher owed his father a favor, so he was allowed to stay. Edmure maintained contact with a few of the more daring griffer girls for a few years until his graduation. When he returned home, he found that his sister had also been sent to a military academy, and that his father was dead. He spent little to no time in Merinvague, immediately sailing off to Gallovia and later join the rest of the family in warfare across Aloria. There he would spend the next many years going from battle to battle, taking his spite out on the enemy lines, rising through the ranks and eventually leading entire regiments into charge from the tent. Adulthood - Now After spending 11 years in various wars and conflicts, Edmure travelled to Regalia where his other family had moved and established themselves, only to find himself locked in the Lo crisis, forced to fight for his life in the battle against the undead Queen. However the long quiet winter nights in the various holds and keeps that they occupied allowed him many empty hours to reflect. His spiteful personality faded some, and his composure became more gentle one. One more reminiscent of his old self. Many years of war had however left its mark. The screams and cannon fire had bored themselves too deep within him to be ever pushed out, but the scars recovered a bit, and Edmure was happier than he had been in a long time. Later came the campaign of Rothburg, where his cousin Alistair in the form of an Ulfman, disarmed and mortally wounded Edmure who was unable to retaliate at the beast. He could only watch as his kin tore a hole in his stomach and threw him aside into the nearby building, where he was saved by a grace that reminded him that his blood was still on his side. Whilst his cousin Dianne hauled him to the medical bay and treated him, Edmure’s conscience drifted off to memories of his old quiet childhood until he was eventually torn back to reality by the calls of his cousin and the screams of the fellow patients. The tactician sat back from the remaining events of the Lo campaign and eventually recovered completely. It was a few months after this time that he won a chess grandmastership in Gallovia, fulfilling a longtime ambition of his. Edmure is now living with his family in the holy city of Regalia, searching for a wife on his family’s demands and also seeking the opportunity to rise in rank an station. He later received scarring burns at the elven front, ambushed by a squad of elven fire mages. Changes- Enough for a rereview I think. So I felt like I wasn’t getting anything out of having his entire character skillset dedicated to leadership, when he 1. isn’t in a discipline of leadership where he can actually take a leading role in any form of events, and 2. when the aspect doesn’t come to usage in roleplay like.. Ever. And it would also suit a man of a warrior heritage to be more of a warrior. And there are no Coen cavaliers sooo. YEah. All Coen mentions changed to Howlester. Scaled down his height 2 inches. Changed his body build to Athletic. Removed Expert School of Leadership. Replaced with Champion Drixon (Permission pending.) Removed personality expressing him as “A typical ithanian aristocrat” And replaced with a more “Stern and often subjectively cold militaristic attitude on occasions” kind of thing. Removed all mentions of School of leadership. Changed some of his backstory to fit the changes. Added a bit of artwork I have gotten for him to a spoiler. Changed the “Tactician” talent to fit a more experienced field commander type of person. Few small changes. Set his combat school down from Champion to Warrior, since his physical state can no longer contest at such a tier. Added an education in the school of Bannermanship as well. Added the neccessary changes to the life story for Bannermanship. Aged him up 4 years from 34 to 38. Restored a bit more of his eloquent and poetic side that he used to have. Removed Etmophobia weakness. It was abundant, and I had trouble portraying it properly. It also didn't seem in good coordinance with the character itself. @HydraLana
Okay, you didn't understand what I meant: He would still be listed as having 38 points in total to spend in both areas. My Review: None of the images are fixed and I ask that you either do so or delete the error code because it is a serious eyesore to read through. Remove the Main Ambition from the Basic Information section and the Weapon of Choice from the Visual Information section as they are no longer part of the Character Application Format. His Body Shape is incorrect in how it is structured as it lacks the Physical Stat calculation, please add this and remove everything from the spoiler as it is an essential part of the application and cannot be hidden. Please remove one language from his listing as he is only 38 and cannot know more than three officially. His last Personality Paragraph is extremely short, please add at least two more additional points of content to it. From what I am aware, his Life Story ends a rather long time ago. Please update his status with at least one point of content to indicate what he is doing now. Tag me once the edits have been done in green @ScaledSupremacy
My only point of review is that his Life Story now exceeds the maximum 900 words allowed. Please restructure, compress, and edit to conform to this template requirement. A less important point is that there are some areas of large blank space on the app so consider cleaning that up to make the paragraphs closer together.
