Character Information

  • Full Name: Dunois. Known as Bâtard de Bataillain (the bastard of Bataillain). Dunois is not his full name, it is purely the surname of the ruling family of the County of Bataillain in the southern Perrion Ithanian lands.
  • Heritage / Culture: Dunois is Perrion Ithanian. He is full Fin'ullen but culturally behaves entirely Ailor.
  • Age: ??? but at least 120 years old.
  • Gender / Pronouns: He/Him.
  • Occult: Mundane.
Core Concept
  • Dunois is visually and conceptually a reset of Cedromar Kade before that Character got shoved into a storytelling black hole. Dunois is a roided manlet with excessive energy and gregarious capacity, while not taking life too seriously. He routinely violates personal space, the comfort of others, courtly behavior, and courteous language. I don't do Combat Roleplay. Please do not ask me to "beat up" your Character either, I do not like Combat Roleplay. I have omitted all CRP-related aspects of this Application.
Appearance Information
  • Dunois is a 5 feet and 6 inch tall stout (muscular with a brick-like build) Fin'ullen with bushy facial hair, rampant body hair, and a buzz-cut head. His face and arms and hands are filled with scars, his ears have multiple silver pieces of jewelry in them. His eyes are sky-blue and bright, contrasting his intense and darkened eye sockets. He has slight graying on his facial hair. Dunois frequently roams around with his heavy steel armor, not because he expects a fight, but because he got comfortable in full armor over the years. Occasionally he has a more informal Ithanian blouse and pantalons.
Languages
  • Ithanian, with Perrion accent, Southern French, spoken with bark and a loud tone from progressing deafness.
  • Common, with a heavy Perrion accent, though he has a good command of the vocabulary and grammar.
  • Despite being an Elf, Dunois does not speak Altalar. He never learned it, and it is not used in Bataillain.
Interactions
Interactions are a set of things you can/should interact with this Character over. This is an easy list of things I always enjoy roleplaying about, so even if your Character has nothing to say IC, I can talk your ears off about this in RP dialogue. I will attempt to keep this section up to date as I go along.
  • State Functioning: Dunois, despite being a roguish mercenary, knows a lot of the functioning of the bureaucratic and judicial state, as well as the nobility as a whole, on account of being a bastard himself.
  • 200-Year War: Dunois, being Perrion Ithanian, and having spent (by his own claim) at least 100 years fighting in the 200-Year War, knows of many stories of the war and its many conflicts, battles, and sieges.
  • Forging: Dunois, as a Forger himself, has an Elven-amount of experience when it comes to crafting and tinkering on one's armor and weaponry and likes sharing techniques and styles.
  • Ithanian Complexities: Ithanian lore is not slapstick French opulence. It has complexities and nuances, and intense intrigue in Court. Dunois, by proximity of his family, can explain these.
  • Unionist: Despite appearances and behavior, Dunois is a devout Unionist who is well aware of his flaws. He fashions himself a lay priest and does permit confessions and guidance.
Integrations
Integrations are a set of things that can create pre-established relations between your OC and mine. Pre-established relations are relations by which Characters already have familiarity or shared experiences before first arrival in Regalia, and know each other by name. If you would like to integrate, please comment on this thread with an @ tag.
  • 200-Year War: Dunois has been active in the 200-Year War for at least 100 years. If there was a reason for a Character to fight in this war between Perrion Duchies and Counties, they could have fought alongside or against.
  • Regalian Wars: Dunois as a mercenary has fought in several Regalian Wars. I try not to be specific, but if you would like to have a shared side with this OC and yours, I can add certain wars.
  • Regalian Guard: Having been in Regalia for several years, he served in the Guard before it became Metro, resigning then, due to disagreements over style, but still was a Guard for several years.
  • Blackmark Liaison: Dunois has been active around the Blackmarks for a while, dropping in and out as Forger and Instructor in siegecraft due to his experience with castle-busting.
  • Ithanian Courts: Dunois despite his brusque appearance and behavior, has done the circuit around the Ithanian lesser and major courts, including the previous and current Ithanian Sovereign, where he was familiar.

Perrion Politics

Perrion Politics are violent, flippant, and chaotic. As a by-product of the 200-Year War, the land is fragmented, and frequently engaged in multiple free-for-all conflicts. This section will set out some very basic understandings of each state, with more details exposited in Roleplay.
  • Duchy of Brisemar: Most powerful of the regions, rich on merchants and navies.
  • Duchy of Déchira: Badly fragmented state that broke up due to fratricide.
  • Duchy Dalaloure: Wealthy coastal duchy that is the most peaceful one.
  • County of Blancévé: A County which produces the world's majority of nitrate.
  • County of Nasmouragie: A County built around a major Magical school.
  • County of Vallèluce: Green valleys with shepherds and monasteries.
  • Marche of Viscoviolette: A Marcher County where soldiers wear purple flowers.
  • Duchy of Nevadore: A Duchy that routinely fractures into religious infighting.
  • Grand Everie de Saint Gillard: Grand Everie named after the missionary Gillard.
  • Grand Everie de Saint Lorrean: Grand Everie named after the missionary Lorrean.
  • County of Martifeux: A region with a fanatic fire-worshiping Religion, considered insane.
  • County of Férocépine: A region with ferocious woodland warriors and knights.
  • County of Daillombreux: A County where there is much gold and Undead in the hills.
  • County of Sulamer: A majority Teledden County with Perrion armies and lineage.
  • Viscounty of Préfleur: A trade hub with a strong demand for flowers and perfume.
  • Duchy of Lusinière: The second strongest Duchy with holdings and ties to the Ithanian Court.
  • Duchy of Andois: A Duchy with strong Elven historical ties to the Allorn Empire.
  • Duchy of Visois: A Duchy ruled by the sister of the late executed Ithanian Sovereign.
  • Duchy of Risore: Risore is a relatively peaceful Duchy where Ithanians go to vacation.
  • Viscounty of Armefroi: A Viscounty that trades and produces the best weapons.
  • County of Bataillain: A small County that kicks up as the regional bully invading others.
  • County of Ardugère: A tiny County squashed frequently by Bataillain as bigger neighbor.
  • Duchy of Deluc: A Duchy that produces the majority food stuffs for the region with fertility.
  • County of Soldaige: A beautiful vinter land cast in golden sunlight and temperate weather.
