Drow/dark Elves Are They Lore Friendly

Well the title kind of explains it, but to expand is there a subrace of elves called drow/dark elves? Sorry if this is an over asked subject like halflings and the like but yeah.

Yes, the drow elves are on drowdar fighting off the demons, and the "dark elves" are the shendar, which are trying to destroy nature. Look at the wiki pages for elves and shendar for more information.

I was thinking that or maybe a child of one that was sent out by the elders but for some reason not able to come back maybe from sickness or an injury

Without being considered dishonourable? There is no way. If a Drow isn't in Drowdar, it left, or was forced to leave dishonourably.

...Or was sent away as a child? [ For some dishonourable reason of the father ]

Careful with that. If you steal a character from existing lore like Forgotten Realms, we may have some problems. Originally my friend, though a character loosely based on the eye-patch wearing drow would be somewhat acceptable.

Yes and Yes.
It's fairly easy to make up an honorable way to get a Drowdar out of Drowda.
