Drachenburg Chancellery: Final Decree

FROM THE DESK OF HIS HIGH EMINENCE
THE LORD CHANCELLOR OF THE REGALIAN EMPIRE
A PROCLAMATION​

As remarked in my previous decree, today marks the end of my tenure as Lord Chancellor of the Regalian Empire. Having serves since June of this year, it has been an honor and a privilege to serve as the Crown's representative in civil government. As I begin the transition process, there are a few final matters to handle before the next chapter of Regalian governance begins:

• On the Subject of my Successor, the Noble Assembly has elected Jared Bancroft, the current Minister of the Whip, as the next Lord Chancellor. His Excellency shall take office tomorrow morning, after which he shall exercise the full power of the office just as he predecessors have.
• One the Subject of State Law, the following modifications shall go into effect:
  • Regalian City Ordinance 5 shall replace the term "Old Guard Charter" with "Violet Council Members," to reflect the recent reform that has gone into effect.
  • Regalian Knight Law 1 has been modified to read the following:
    • "Any member of a Knightly Order is permitted to open-carry non-military grade weapons and wear up to plate armor, so long as the Order colors and identifying symbols are visible displayed."

With these final legislative decisions undertaken, I now offer my final words on the Chancellery, and my outlook on my months of service. If there is a single word that best summarizes what I've come to see the position of the Lord Chancellor as, it is this: duty. Duty to the Emperor above all, and to serve the Crown to the best of one's abilities. To acknowledge that while one might not always be able to balance the needs of oneself and the needs of the office, that they continue to do their duty for the betterment of the Empire as best they can. Just as the nobility have a duty to rule competently, so to does the Lord Chancellor have this duty to the entire Empire. And through duty, we work to progress the Great Way just as our forbears had. I trust that my successor shall his his duty, just as I shall continue to do mine when I leave this office.

Thus, with the final hour of the Drachenburg Chancellery do I welcome in the beginning of the Bancroft Chancellery. May we see an even brighter tomorrow than the one we see today, as we work dutifully as servants of His Imperial Holiness and the Imperial Spirit.

The rulings of this decree take the full effect of State Law.​

Addendum​

In regards to the right to enforce Regalian Law to handle the Sanguine threat, the Boodcast and Darkwald Orders no longer have that authority granted to them by the Chancellery. Any knight wishing to enforce Regalian Law must seek out the Violet Order or Chancellor.
