So with the god4all controversy i have to say one thing from a noob's perspective this is amazing. Our lives are much easier! my doodle.png

And more people get to pvp.Didn't pvpers say pvp was dead?

More people can fight now.I'm just trying to look at the positive side of the whole thing not trying to bring down any one side

The PVP community is unhappy about the free god gear since it reduces the costs of it, as many people sold it for profits myself included. The fact of the matter is that now its near impossible to make money from it, but all you have to do either way is /vote, and you will be as rich as Gethelp in 32 years.

This is possibly the most idiotic argument I've ever seen in my life.

I really hope this is a joke :c

I mean I assume it's a prank, but uh, I'm very appreciative of the free picks and axes, they're pretty dank for building and stuff.

Although I do enjoy when noobs put up a fight, @greenman99 nailed it with the response.

Those drawings are beautiful though

Pfff Jes you just like to hate on anything that makes some aspect of PvP marginally less convenient.

His point is valid. It's much easier to become established when you get free stuff. I don't know that it's making more people willing to try PvP, but it's at least allowing those who already wanted to a quicker way to do so.

....1. Yes I do, because pvp on this server is already altogether crappy and doesn't need any more "inconveniences." 2. This isn't a minor inconvenience... It basically completely removed the reward system, as well as the risk, to pvp. It's not fun to lose nothing when you die, and gain nothing when you do. Not to mention that a ton of pvpers lost hundreds of thousands of regals due to this. So yes, I'm going to "hate" on this.

No it's not. One way or another you're still doing to have to grind. And during that grind you'll get more than enough god armor to start off. So giving out free stuff doesn't help attract new pvpers, it just increases the supply, thereby reducing the price and the value of god weapons/armor, and therefor pvp.

I don't know that it's making more people willing to try PvP,
No, it's not. I'd be willing to say it does the opposite.

but it's at least allowing those who already wanted to a quicker way to do so.
Already wanted to?... What. If you pvp on massive, you already pvp... There were a couple people who came back after the recent changes, but that had absolutely nothing to do with gift4all's, it had to do with people not having to pay to pvp anymore.

So yeah no, nothing about this argument was valid.

To put it to the roleplayers, it's like this "Give every roleplayer the same character so they can all roleplay!" It defeats the purpose of doing it, there is no gain.

back on topic
i don't really pvp much but like.
god4all does seem like it's screwed things up a bit economy-wise
the tools are aight but the armour and that have dropped god gear prices so far they're in the middle of bloody china mate
that ain't a good thing, especially when lots of people made crazy profits from it and had methods n' shit
it's a nice idea but the effect it had kinda threw shit off imo, even if it does help the server a whole bunch (which i'm all for obviously)
while it's still alright, and it does let new people get into it easier, whether it's worth it or not i'm unsure
the improved /vote rewards are a serious help for making up for it though
good shit, that is.
but hey, that's just my opinion.

So, there have been arguments saying that more people won't PvP just because of this. I can state clearly and bluntly: you are all wrong. There is at least one more person willing to PvP now that he wont lost his endless hoard of stuff: Me. The sole reason I go outside when my bases get raided now is because I have some God4All stuff I can afford to lose. If not for God4All I'd still be ignoring raids and not even attempting to help people defend. I'm sure I'm not the only person who would leave PvPers sitting outside an iron door if not for God4All.

I'd also like to tell all the people bitching about God4All ruining armor prices: Get over it. The voting rewards screw over any hope I ever had of reopening Mechbank (anyone dedicated enough to pay a loan back can just vote for the money instead) you don't hear me bitching about it at every opportunity. If you can't make money selling god armor anymore, sell something different.

@markcraft27 you are the only reason why this thread is still going. It's veered way off track of the original purpose.

thats me =)
i agree with mech. although i really hate the /vote stuff. i almost wanna ask for more money when i sell stuff. i don't though cause people still have this idea of what the regal is worth.

ima gonna create a whole new thread about the economy.
