Greetings.

In the past i enjoyed creating landscapes with Voxel Sniper and WorldEdit.
Now i want to take it one step further.
I would love some feedback from minecrafters and their opinion if they actually would want to play in a world like this. Especially from Massivecraft Players because we enjoy this awesome quality of worlds to play on.

The Project:
The plan is that i update this thread from time to time with progress shots.
Once I'm done in World Painter, ill get in there and do some hands on work WorldEdit Style.
For now, theres only the basic terrain shape and a little editing on one island done.
The map is 5k times 5k blocks large.

Hiramas WP is so fun to make worlds with. I mess around with making worlds to. Maybe I'll show some if you'd like me to sometime?

Would be awesome to see some stuff. I like the terrain shape for now, atm I am struggling with mountains. Looks so easy on the tutorials ;)

edit: Maybe a good question to ask would be: What makes massives maps interesting?

I'll post some stuff tomorrow most likely. What I think makes MassiveCraft worlds so good is the combination of WP plus one other world creating engine they use, but I can't remember its name. (MonMarty ?) Worlds MonMarty does, he also uses custom brushes he makes, so that adds a bit of flare to the worlds. I also think it's just the experience that the World Makers have.

I think i read somewhere that Terrain Control isn't used anymore because its too difficult to use properly. I tried to use it a while ago, its really really hard and changing one number can screw up everything you fine-tuned. BO2 are custom made objects like trees that are put in the world by the tools.

Yeah no university today so i got some time on my hands to work on the map.
Progress!

BO2? TerrainControl?

Those aren't it. BO2's are objects created that can be made into a custom layer that can be painted in. For example, the special trees the world department make are packaged and exported into a Bo2 file, that allows them to be painted into the new world.

A little update. even if i don't know if anyone is interested ;)

If you are interested in world making techniques I suggest looking at jamzieboy on YouTube, he uses much more programs then just world painter to create his super realistic maps.
