    ❂ Core Concept

» Constanze may have been a strict adherent to the tenets of Unionism and leaned toward the beliefs of the Priscelle sect before her infection, but life as a Sanguine has driven her to a more loose belief and has mostly become Unionist by convenience, and mostly agnostic.

» Constanze is a Sanguine who has kept the formal, refined persona she held as a wealthy noblewoman, and so operates in a similar way: preferring the elegant cut of the rapier, a fine appreciation of expensive spirits and an overall ruthless approach to life.

» Constanze's Infection has left her with cold alabaster skin, darkened eye sockets, sleek raven black hair and dull crimson irises.

» Constanze stands at a moderate height of 6'1" with a trim, streamlined, lithely muscular build. Her hair is a sleek raven black, cropped at chin-length but typically held up in a small ponytail. Her features are angular severe, leaving her to have a perpetually glowering stare.

    »
Constanze's vampire form takes the shape of a creature from her childhood fairytales: a headless horseman. She loses anything in the way of real skin, her body becoming a hollowed suit of slender steel with dark black and red gothic raiment adorning it in places. From her neck, wicked white flame of no tangible heat spews forth, ensconcing the suspended pieces of a broken helm-like mask within them. Smoldering scarlet eyes peer out from behind the steel, and her jaw is disconnected: metal forming sanguine fangs in obvious fashion. A few tapered spikes peel off from the hinges of the jaw.

    Life Story

» Constanze was born into a long-dead Leutz-Vixe noble house in the southerly swamps of Brissiaud, to a father who made a living as a wayfarer in the bog and a mother who was raised classically Ithanian.

» Constanze was injured in an accident as a young girl and ended up with a malformed jaw, leading her to take up competition as a fencer which she trained at day in and day out.

» Constanze's prowess led to her taking some mercenary work with a roaming Darkwald hunting party for some years, until she put her sword away and started a distilling business in her home town called Buck & Bramble that she eventually brought to operate in the capital city.

    »
Her wealth and influence was used as leverage to join the Empire's nobility proper, and made a name for herself as a selected Lord Chancellor. She would eventually retire from the position and noble life as a whole, departing to travel the world abroad. While in a secretive comfort house in Ithania she was infected by a Sanguine.

    »
Donning a new name and guise as Camille von Mordsreik, the now-sanguine Constanze eventually returned to Regalia in search of flames to spark-- both old and new.

Born into the a long-dead Leutz-Vixian noble house situated in the southerly swamps of Brissiaud, Constanze knew a small and sheltered life out in the quiet morass. Her father made a living as a mirekeeper-- offering safe and convenient travel and protection for wayfarers making their path through the dense bog. On her fifth birthday she was gifted a violin from her aunt and uncle, and her mother Florence taught her: a sometimes-player of the instrument herself. She spent the next four years practicing and grew rather adept, finding joy in the bow and strings and the wondrous melodies they could create. As she grew older, though, she grew more and more restless: Her father spent all day out in the swamps, why couldn’t she? She was permitted to play outside at times, surely, but staying out after dark was always forbidden. And so at the age of nine she sneaked out of her bedroom window and went for a lantern-lit walk through the bog, exploring its dark corners. The foolish girl hadn’t brought spare lamp oil with her, though, and eventually she lost her light. Panicked, she began to run home: only to lodge her ankle among the twisted roots of the swamp’s trees and fall rather unceremoniously, shattering her jaw upon another root. Her parents only managed to find her deep in the bog by following her hoarse, blood-curdling wails.

Her accident resulted for her in a malformed and disfigured jaw; while the best attempts were made to heal it and keep it bandaged, Constanze was left with a grim reminder of her insubordination every time she looked into a mirror. Gone were her father’s dreams for her to be an illustrious and famed duelist and gone were her mother’s for her to marry and have a happy family of her own. The year passed as the girl recovered, and then at the age of ten her father, rather disgruntled, used his ties to their noble family to hire a tutor knowledgeable in fencing to educate Constanze. The next ten years went by with Constanze’s life utterly consumed by her various practices: rigorous training with her tutor during the day, and hours spent reading at night or learning dancing from her mother (something Constanze saw as solely pragmatic), who was delighted to teach her. She plunged headfirst into it all, blocking out any need for sociability and drawing the approval of her father and the worry of her mother. She became an incredibly adept fencer, her small and svelte body enabling her a great degree of agility and none of the encumbrance of typical womanhood. She traveled to tourneys around southern Brissaud, an oftentimes victor, finding solace and freedom in the sport: wearing a mask meant nobody ever needed to see her face, and to everyone watching she was simply a skilled fencer.

She set out upon her own at the age of twenty after her training was complete, and sought out glory and fame as a duelist on her own. She competed wherever possible, boasting and swashbuckling her way across Brissaud until she turned twenty-two when a traveling Darkwald knight spotted her at a tournament, and recruited her into the knighthood after being soundly impressed by her agility and combative capabilities. It would be there at Castle Virgadulvlas she honed the raw steel of her mettle into something far more sharp and purposeful, proving herself an able and prodigious hunter in the years following. At the age of 30, she grew weary of the rigor and decided to quietly retire from the rigorous Darkwald lifestyle, departing Tirgunn silently. Returning home to Brissaud, she used her inheritance to fund the construction and thereafter ownership of a small craft distillery there, naming it Buck & Bramble after her family's old heraldry of elk and thorny roses. This eventually brought her to Regalia, to sell stock to local taverns and see about opening a regional office for the blooming business.

Buck & Bramble inevitably blossomed into what is the largest wine, beer and spirits distribution company in the Empire, acquiring her own brewery and winery beneath the label as well. Financial success and her father's early abdication from the title of Maraisburke led to her sitting in his place and bringing the family to unseen prosperity, raising the title to that of an Archduchy and bringing the Hinterlands beneath them for a larger, stronger, consolidated Brissiaud. She took up the role of Lord Chancellor for a term before resigning.

During all this, Constanze married Eléonore Ravenstad and remained with her for the tenure of her time as Lord Chancellor, until Eléonore departed under private circumstances.

Since then, Constanze vanished from public life entirely. Her present whereabouts are unknown.
