This is not a post on hating prems
My suggestion is the character cards for non-prems too, as this I think could help role-playing alot, as well....
well actully I don't really have an argument to back me up, apart from that, as I said I just think it would help role-playing, becuase it is not like a massive feature of prem, like quicker McMMo leveling up and the keep armour on deaths and the backpack.
I would like to hear what you have to say on the matter too.

Here is my suggestion: give Character cards to everyone. This will make RP better for everyone. However, give prems an expanded character card, with sections such as "Height/Weight" "Clothing/Acesseries"

I actually think Pets and emotions are much more usefull to prem roleplayers than the cards.
And the added visibility of an orange name is nice as well.
However I think a simple character card with age and race would be extremely usefull.

I hardly see how would extremely improve role play if everyone had a character card, many do not even look at them, from my understanding.

One could simply state basic things such as the height, when it comes to be an important part in roleplay. While it would be nice to have character cards for non-prems, it does harm the incentive for premium. Also, for people with pets, the premium pets are very handy.

What about character cards for everyone, and prems have the ability to save/load multiple character cards with ease?

What about. Now hear me out. It may seem a little old fashion here, but follow these steps.
1. Observe a person across the room.
2. Tell yourself. "That guy/gal seems to be a pretty cool bloke."
3. walk across the room.
4.

5. Continue the conversation. Thus learning about the other person's character.

Just a suggestion here. May seem out dated. Some people would rather just facebook the blokes character, and then text them from across the room, but my method can guarantee results. :D

that's all well and good, but what if you want to know their height or how big or small they are, so you know if you will be looking down or up to them. And maybe they might have a large scar which is now shown on the skin or something like that

Character Card is used to create incentive for role players to donate. Take that incentive away, and less reason to donate. So no. This won't happen.

Pets in Regalia are rarely used, at most I've seen one or two people with a dog or cat around. Half the time it's someone roleplaying with the pet it's a 50/50 chance they're roleplaying it as a stronger thing than intended (examples: dire wolf)

As for emotes in chat, again I rarely see them used. When I do it's for OOC things, or just not taken seriously in Rp.

I have to agree with badtrou- I mean @AmericanTrout that this wouldn't make a difference either way, as everything in a character card can be described in roleplay in like, what? two sentences? You just have to be creative.

Perhaps a simple thing stating race?

You have no idea how many times I've accidentally flirted with a kleinfolk

Non-Premium Character Cards would make roleplaying better for everyone on the server.

Non-prem character cards would be good, but premiums would have multiple character card saves which they can easily switch between while non-prems would have to rewrite their character card if they change a roleplay character.

character ca-?
oh, those things, i forgot i even have one, probs half filled in for the wrong char. i honestly wouldn't mind if they became a non-prem feature, it's not that /i/ use it a lot

Why is it that three staff members can more or less approve of an idea (even if it is only hypothetical), but then be instantly shut down by one?

I think character cards would improve RolePlaying massively.
I have had multiple times where everything about appearance needs to be told OOC. This takes a lot of time.
It would be much easier with just a shift-rightclick.

The ability to change between characters is super useful. I know most just write 3 chars in 1 char-car, but that severely limits your writing space.

And since MPM is not working yet on the server it could really help. It would be really nie just to be able to know that they have a small scar on their left cheek, or they have ear ring, something small which you cannot really add on a minecraft skin. ANd it would make role-play more imersive in my opinon. And as lots of people have already said, hardly any prems even use them.

Because OldmanJ is a Quest staff member, Madus is a tech staff member and Dr_Fong doesn't even have an official server rank beyond his RP staff status. The "shut down one" just happens to be a Direction member who is in charge of maintaining and increasing the appeal of the premium package, as well as maintaining the roleplay department.

I'd appreciate it if you didn't constantly make digs at me. Direction make the directive decisions of MassiveCraft. Both as Direction 3 and CCO, that authority trumps any other. Get over it.

Bu

but barely any Prems I know use their character card
That's a rather pointless argument in favor of nothing. All the Premiums I know use their character card. The point in the end is that people do use it, and the fact that people want it is a good reason to keep it as a premium feature because it will entice people to donate, which is ultimately a more important goal than the hypothetical roleplay quality increase.

I would like it for Non-Prems, but as MonMarty said, people donate because of everything that comes in prem.
I don't donate because I really don't havê the possibility to do so. Don't you people remember when they took off almost all the perks from the premium pack? The problem is that most people just donate because of that!

Ok I understand now

@MonMarty

Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, I'm not out to get you. You're a fantastic RP'er, architect, and admin on Massivecraft, and I am grateful for the countless hours you have poured into this server to make it so fantastic.

However, I believe that you are very often a bit too harsh when replying to individuals (whether on the forums, or in game), and that the vast majority of players on this server are probably too intimidated to say something about it. Perhaps you don't mean to be harsh, and I greatly admire strong leadership, but your responses come off as fairly aggressive, condescending, belittling, and negative. Here are a few examples just from this thread:

I've been meaning to send you a message about this for some time, but quite honestly, I was too intimidated and afraid that I would be banned for speaking my mind to express my concern. Confrontation is awkward and difficult for me, and I don't get any satisfaction out of this. I'm not a staff member, and it's not my place to call out another staff member, especially a direction staff member, but I simply can't ignore a problem I believe could be hurting the server.

Please consider what I have to say, and look past the fact that I wrote it. I'm not out to get you. I'm far from perfect, but I know my motives are pure on this. You're a great staff member, I just think that your interactions could be handled with more gentleness and less intimidation, that's all.

On the other hand, OldManJ98 responds to the idea constructively, and speaks his mind without compromising gentleness and respect for the player:

Please no not use my post to attack Marty. He was responding to players comments, while I was giving a idea based on the OP. This is like apples and peaches

@eman1000 i do see some meaning in marty's harshness, however @MonMarty has points and he is the one who is correct. no need for attack on an opinion.

I will not contest claims of abrasiveness, though I will contest claims of incorrect decision taking. My deal breaker argument is sufficient for this subject. I am locking the thread to prevent further derailment.
