Basic Information Carter Kilmer is a 36 year-old male Ailor. Carter is the first-born child of the family and the only child of the Kilmer family. His mother and father currently lives in Southern Ellador that is separated by water near Trollstigel. None of them have passed away yet, but however his father recently suffered from a heart attack and is stuck in his bed. Carter is married to a woman, who is currently suffering from cancer in her lungs. He has a daughter who is only 6 years old, named Vixen. Carter currently doesn’t have a house and sleeps in the tavern when he needs to. He gets his food from friends and guiltily sometimes resorts to stealing if he needs to. Carter’s main goal in life is to become an explorer and go to every known continents there are in Aloria. He wishes to find an unknown land and explore to become a renowned traveler. Carter's goal is to get a job and receive more stable income to continue afford on taking care of his dying wife and his traveling funds. Visual Information Commission by: inappropriateclouds (NSFW Tumblr!) Body Description Carter’s body is large and bulky, almost in a muscular sense. He stands at 5’9 and weighs around 169 lbs. He has a massive shoulder span and most of his fat is stored mostly in his chest and stomach, along with his arms. Carter does not suffer from any physical disabilities. Carter’s skin is nicely tan and looks ‘warm’. His skin is rough to the touch however from the years of work and sometimes he has tan lines around his arms and back from the constant wearing of his work clothing. Carter has a large scar going across his chest, along with two horizontal scars going across his nose. Carter has an adequate amount of body hair around his chest that travels down to his navel and has a large amount of hair on his arms and leg. Head Description Carter’s face is weather-beaten for being outside, most of his entire life. The features of his face however is slightly chiseled, holding a strong jawline and his nose is slightly turned upwards. His lips are thinned and his appearance overall is rough looking. Carter’s eyes are a bright sky blue color, though with a mixture of grey. His expression is always friendly, almost energetic and happy. Carter’s hair is shaggy, from a short to a medium length, brushed forwards. The ends of his hair that is brushed forward is pointy. His hair is soft and silky to the touch, often taken care of. The color of his hair is greyish-white, though not his natural color. Carter has two scars running horizontally across the bridge of his nose. He doesn’t have any other facial scars. He has a small scruffy beard on his chin, barely forming a goatee. Clothing and Accessories Carter wears a blue, torn up vest with a yellow-golden colored lining in the middle. His pants are a striking grey, while his leather boots are generally brown. The vest also seems to be sewn with parts of shirts that travel down Carter’s shoulder, though never reaching his wrist her hands. Leather braces are worn and always seen on Carter’s wrist. A white sash is also tied around his waist to tighten the pants. Carter wears a silver amulet necklace around his neck, inside of the amulet is a water vial. Behavior Information Personality Traits Friendly: Carter is a big ol’ friendly fellow, kind and caring towards strangers who even aren’t human. He always tries to reason during fights and arguments, preferring a pacifistic way. The act of hurting makes Carter deeply uncomfortable, even though he could easily try and battle. Forgiving: Carter cannot hold grudges against people, even if they did a vile thing to him. His friendly and kind heart makes it easier for him to forgive people. He believes that if anyone tries hard enough, then they can become someone great. Energetic: Carter feels energetic around his friends and likes to go on travels. He tends to climb onto trees and play hide and seek. Athletic: Carter enjoys participating in athletic activities because of the feeling of rush and adrenaline that sparks up within him. He likes to keep his build and doesn’t want to be seen as a fat or obese man. Anxious: Carter’s past bullying makes him an anxious man, unable to feel if some people are good or not. He feels greatly uncomfortable with plenty of people around, making him sweat nervously. He can't handle many people and it makes him want to get out of the area, sometimes abruptly excusing himself out of conversations. Soft: Carter has a soft heart, making him easy to be manipulated or tricked into many things. He is considered weak-minded and indecisive. Progressive: Carter tends to get things going and wants to progress from where he is with his ambitions. He wants to complete his goals in life and help others achieve what they want, as long as it isn’t harmful. Honest: Carter tries not to lie to others. It’s against his morals to tell lies about others and sticks true to his opinions. It’s against his morals to lie to anyone, even the worst people. Disorganized: Carter is unable to keep track of his items or friends. While traveling, he sometimes loses little things and bits but always keeps important items. Other thing that can easily be replaced, he doesn't mind losing. In his house, it's considered a mess. Likes Traveling: Carter enjoys taking good trips or camping out in the forests. When he first started to travel, he became a hardened man to the elements in nature and enjoys occasional trips to old and known ruins. Drinks: Carter likes to sometimes intoxicate himself while around his friends, just for the sake of fun. Hangovers don’t feel too good for him but he gets over them quickly. Performing: Carter sometimes likes to show his strength off for fun and to hopefully impressing people to become his friend. He needs more friends. Calm Music: The sound of calming music makes Carter feel like he could sleep forever. He makes himself distracted by listening to music near the taverns and inns. Cats: To him, they are the best animals in the world. Carter enjoys on how refined and independent they are, having a cat himself that he feeds. Carter sometimes feeds stray cats in the winter and shelters them with his house before letting them go in the spring if they wanted to leave. Romance Novels: Carter likes to enjoy reading romance novels that are extremely cheesy and sappy, sometimes giving him a good laugh or super into it. Tea: Carter sometimes likes to enjoy a few cups of tea here and there in the tavern. He remembers drinking a lot in Ithania and accidentally overdosing on caffeine, unable to sleep and feeling jittery for at least a day. Dislikes Hypocrisy: Carter becomes incredibly frustrated by hypocrisy and tries to shun it off. He hates himself if he ever becomes a hypocrite in any situations and it bothers him. Swimming: Carter was never good at swimming in the first place and only knows how to float. The thought of sea serpents really puts him on edge and frightens him. Lizards: Carter is uneased by their scaley appearances and the unique shape of their eyes. Carter has never seen a Naylar before in his life until he traveled to Daendroc. He was disgusted by their appearance overall. Small Spaces: Carter is claustrophobic and becomes uneased with small spaces. It faintly reminds him of the mines that he was once trapped in with his father. He only dislikes small spaces and doesn't have a severe fear of them however. Violence: The act of violence deeply makes Carter uncomfortable. He is unable to understand how someone could take another’s life, causing him to sometimes question his own existence and purpose of life. Abilities and Disabilities Strengths Strength: Carter can perform great feats of strength and practices on lifting things. His strong body allows him to throw a strong punch or lift something heavy up. Years from working in a physically demanding industry made him strong from the hard work. Kind-Hearted: Carter is an emotional man with much understanding towards others, finding compassion within his own heart. He is able to stay determined about his feelings and doesn’t let negative opinions of others get in his way. Insight: Carter gains an accurate understanding of a person or an animal while talking to them, trying to see their emotions and reactions. He will try to find out how a certain person works and what their habits are just to get to know them better. Trying to understand and find out the situations is not an easy thing for Carter however. Weaknesses Big: Carter’s big stature makes him horrible on stealth missions with his clumsiness and inability to stay low. He sticks out from crowds with his hair that is dyed a whitish-grey and him being large doesn’t help either. Abused: Carter’s soft heart is easy to manipulate and abuse, twisting his actions and mind about himself. He cannot reject people’s requests or offers if they are particularly ‘close’ to him. Coward: Carter can never hurt anyone purposefully. Despite his size, he is a soft man, resorting to pacifism the best he could. Even when he could perfectly resort to violence without struggle, the act of killing deeply makes him uncomfortable. He will try to incapacitate the opponent instead of killing them the best he can Combat Styles Offense: Carter only needs to fight back if it means death for him or troubles for others. He will try to incapacitate his opponent with a blunt object to prevent them from worse injuries. Defense: Carter shields himself with his hands and with objects surrounding him to protect himself. Sometimes he’ll resort to running away. Weapons of Choice Fists. Blunt Weapons. Relationships - Parents: Carter feels strong about his mother and father, believing that they tried their best to take care of them. He however feels slight negativity towards his father for taking him and forcing him to work in the mines when he was only a kid, but knew that he was loving nonetheless. Life Story Carter was brought into the world of Aloria on December 14, 267 AC. His birth was expected and he became the first child in the family. As a newborn child, Carter’s father expected great things from the first born. While growing up, Carter was a large child, subjected to teasing and bullying from other children near the neighbor. Carter lived in Ellador, near the colder parts of the mountains, where his family held a mining company for long amount of time. Carter never had any other siblings in the village and only socialized with other children who were nicer to him and other adults. Carter began to help his father who worked in the mining industry, by bringing him materials, food and water. His help eventually gradually increased when he started to actually perform work at the age of 14, mining away rocks and helping on setting up supports to prevent the mountain from caving in. Carter acted polite to the other workers in the mine who also treated him like family. The family and workers earned a good income from the abundant resources of coal and iron in the tunnels until one day, it collapsed due to the poor structuring of the wooden poles that held the rocks together. The people who were trapped while working was Carter and his father, along with several other miners. Carter was at the age of 24 by the time the mine collapsed, desperate to get out alive. While the miners were in despair and didn’t expect to see the light of day, Carter brought their spirits up for several days by providing speeches and shared a majority, if not, all of his food with them equally. He was determined on moving the rocks with his strength, pushing them. The large rock that blocked the entrance couldn’t be moved. For days, they remained trapped in the dark mine, until Carter managed to budge the rock and roll it down the mountain, setting the miners and himself free. Carter was deemed as a hero in his village but soon, everyone seemed to have forget about the incident, even himself. At the age of 32, Carter left his house with some fortunes from the mining industry that eventually closed down after it collapsed again, luckily with no one inside. He set sailed from Ellador to Trollstigel, staying there for a couple months with some cousins. His experience in Trollstigel however went bad as he caught a cold from the extremely low temperatures, causing him to stay longer. When Carter managed to become better, he set sailed to Arlora and saw the sights of Mount Dom from a far distance, listening in to the legends and stories by the locals of ill omens and creatures. Carter became quite a traveler and was interested on learning about cultures. Carter set sailed from Arlora towards Ithania, reaching it after several months of traveling on the ship. He also managed to befriend plenty of people onboard of the ship who also headed onto the same destination as him, giving a sense of friendship and bonding with him. Carter arrived at the Ithania shores before camping and traveling over to Lusits by foot. The group of travelers that Carter followed was calmed by the scene of Lusits and how the climate was, which it was certainly tamer than Daendroc. Carter took notes at the sights of O Palácio Real, breathless from the architecture and how grand it was. After settling in Daendroc for a few years, Carter set sailed to Regalia at the age of 35. When Carter had arrived, he became clueless until finally adjusting and buying a home at 304 AC. Since then, Carter has been living comfortably in Regalia. When growing older, he plans on going back to traveling and exploring. His next stop is going to Farah'Deen.
Review! In the character goals, perhaps add a few more personal ones? Developing a relationship, maybe a stable job to fund his explorations, and so on. For the personality traits, I see a fair amount of, but hardly any negative ones. I would personally add two more negative personality traits to balance them out. As he isn't necessarily a bad man, perhaps he's messy - accustomed to a life of adventure, and even easily distracted. Personality traits along those lines. For the relationships section, if you could add his general relationship with the NPC Mother and Father, that would be much appreciated. That aside, I must say I really like this character. The genuine good heartedness is certainly something I hope to meet IC. Lovely art too.
