Religion: The Faith of Estel Life Story » Callon was born in a village in an overgrown forest settled by ceilothar, yanar, and avanthar alike, a system which worked very well for many years due to the bond the three races developed. Being a ceilothar, Callon's main duties growing up included growing and harvesting wheat, and providing grain and other resources to the yanar, who offered fruits and medicinal herbs to the village. He also developed strong gardening and horticulture skills, and was a well-known name among the avanthar for his providing of many medicinal herbs, as the avanthar protected the village from intruders. » Callon began learning the art of stave combat from his father after his Trial of Estel, at 15 years of age, where he learned his path in life was to lead a village as a protector. He grew accustomed to carrying around a staff of various materials, including branches and bamboo, though for the first few years, he had not occured a real situation that demanded the use of the staff, aside from his training. This would change when Callon reached 20 years of age. » Soon after Callon's 20th birthday, word had spread of the orcs of a nearby large settlement intruding the forests of the territory near his village. The council members knew it was only a matter of time before the orcs struck, so the people of the village began to prepare, which included many of the male elves to be given emergency preparedness training, along with an expanded combat training. Callon's father began making the daily training routines much more intensive, and this time consisting of real duels between each other and with other members of the village who were in combat training. Through the blood and sweat of many fights with only his stave, Callon's skill increased tremendously, and his name among the village's defense system became more known. » Almost one year later, the village was surprise attacked by the orcs, and though the people of the village believed they were prepared, their defense was far from the level of fury brought on by the orcs. It was a total loss, with the majority of the nelfin either dead or enslaved. Callon himself kept fighting until he was eventually knocked unconcious, bloodied up and not quite far from death. It was in those moments that Callon was saved by a wandering mage, and he was taken to a safe position. During Callon's recovery, which took several weeks, the mage quickly grew fond of Callon's determination and his vocalness to succeed, despite losing his parents to who knows where. The two grew a bond as the mage decided to take Callon in as a pupil, teaching him the ways of nature sorcery. The two traveled together for years, and Callon's level of skill increased daily. During one of their trips, they met up with a friend of the mage, who also mastered magic, but in the school of order. This mage joined the two for a short couple of years, but in those years came intense training for Callon. Not only did the mage teach Callon order sorcery, he also instilled in him discipline, patience, and many other traits through a set of extremely tough trials. Callon, always determined to fulfill his goal given to him by Estel, worked through each of the trials, increasing his skills in several areas greatly. » Eventually it was time for Callon to go on his own, as the order mage had left the two to go back home, and the nature mage began the stage of nelfin life where he must stay in bed for most of the day, as he was very old. Callon continued to wander and take in information, increasing his aspirations and longing for true success for his people. To this day he remains bold, optimistic, and warm-natured, with a lot of wisdom for his age, thanks to all of his teachers. He has come to Regalia as the next step in his journey.
You need to invest 5 points into a proficiency to get the racial boost, which then adds another 5 to that proficiency. You don't just get the racial boost off the bat.
