another one I made in like 2 minutes where I tell you be nice to people and as an example of being nice I teach you the FOIL (first outer inner last) method in math where you find the equation using 2 roots or something like that. its really just useless but hey maybe you pass a math test

Jol-shi place high values on family and tradition. Aside from the face and hands, the entire body is covered in grey or black cloth to match their colorings, consisting of headscarves and thick cloaks. The concealing clothing is a result of the modesty ingrained in Jol-shi culture, which applies to all parts of their lives. A Jol-shi will rarely be seen in extravagant clothing or jewelry, or living in a luxurious manor house. However, decorations and patterns can be found in their clothes. Beaded tassels around their neck and waist, and stitched patterns, both geometric and organic, on their clothing. Star-like patterns are common. Their food less plain, as Jol-shi have a surprisingly strong taste for all kinds of food, but their everyday meals consist of what they can "borrow" from the market stalls.

Traditional courtship rituals involve each side presenting something of value to their beloved, both wearing veils over the face. These meetings are held at the nearest shadow shrine, or a similar place. Marriages are a quiet affair, when the veils finally come off and the couple sees each other for real for the first time. A married couple may have two to four children, raised and tutored by their parents to the age of seventeen, adulthood, when they may leave the clan to find another, though many live in the same clan their whole life.

An small amount of Jol-shi youth have begun abandoning the life of modesty and shadow, and forgo the dark clothing for bright and colorful clothing, though the general style of it remains the same minus the headscarf. Bright face paints and hair dye are common among this group as well, as they wish to stand out from their more plain brethren. They can be found living it up in bars, exotic marketplaces, and other loud and social places. While the older, more traditional Jol-shi heavily disapprove, most simply have a neutral stance on these people.

decided that I will also put things that are not art in here

DID SOME BUSINESS WITH NITAM RELIGION, STARTED GENERAL WORK ON GRE-SHI, RHUGA AND RUKETHA ALMOST DONE, BAZRET BACKSTORY FLESHED OUT, JOL-SHI HISTORY IN PLANNING, AND ONCE AGAIN THE MAGIC ADDITION IS FORGOTTEN
but i do have the main magic page done and several schools of magic at least mostly written up which I will add to the viewing doc sometime today

  • BUG SHENANIGANS

  • Kthvz T'tchx - Mental Link - A unique ability all Xtchot develop. By emitting a low buzzing sound and headbutting, soft or hard, another Xtchot, they can send a brief flash of information. A few words, a sound, a series of images, a location, or emotion. A small crowd of Xtchot buzzing and headbutting is a common sight in Xtchot inhabited regions, especially during their ceremonies. If any other race attempts this, they'll have the painful result of headbutting a large, thick-shelled beetle with many horns.

The Xtchot are built like humanoid, muscular beetles. They have a thick, short neck, with a large, bulky head on top. The face is the only part of the body with large, exposed skin, which is typically a grey or grey color, or a lighter tone of the carapace. Their mouths are quite a bit wider than a normal face, with both sharp and dull teeth for eating meat and grinding plant material respectively. In place of a nose are two small nostril holes, which do the job just as well. Their dark, beady eyes are much better at seeing in the dark, but can adjust to the light quickly enough. Their forehead, and upper and sides of their head are adorned with large, sharp, chitinous horns similar to a stag beetle or related insect. Sprouting from the front top of their head are two antennae, which function similarly to other beetle antennae. Their carapace is typically a dark tone, blues, blacks, browns, with rare purples. The rest of their body has thick carapace plates covering it, with occasional chinks in the armor, around important joints such as elbows. They have digitigrade legs similar to other beetles, and broad shoulders.

With the Xtchoti belief of honor, they go about warfare in a dignified way. Their skilled Vukz (knights) and lesser warriors go into battle with their banners raised, and swords held high. All common Xtchoti warriors in the Tchkvotzi army fight armed with a broadsword, shield, and spear. Fighters outside the army may use whichever weapons they like, and knights are gifted with specially made weapons, with a shield bearing their personal insignia and an elegant broadsword. They will not strike an enemy while he is down, this is the most serious rule for them.

Xtchot are native to Voshniuk, though some have left the globe to explore other lands and spread their ideals of honor. Located in the cave globe is a large kingdom called Tchkvotz at it's heart.

they arent torrp i just liked the concept of warrior beetle and i like bug people in general and also i needed a race that would actually hunt the lossi in order to fulfull their backstory

might put in more writing, here's a snippet of the extinct human race for now

The physical form of humans depicted in the ancient carvings shows them as a powerful race, tall and muscular. Through old scripts and other works, it was found that human skin shined like bronze under the sun, and their eyes were like glittering diamonds. Human hair was dark and flowing, worn long by either gender. The faces of this lost race looked to be carved from stone, a powerful expression demanding respect. Given the variation the modern Humanii races have, it's impossible to truly pinpoint much else.
Even without being a scholar who studied Human culture, Humans are known for their extreme arrogance and decadent attitude. The ancient empires conquered vast swathes of land, enslaved and massacred entire races to extinction. They could be the most cunning and intelligent foe, and the cruelest. The term "memory like a Human" was coined, for Humans during the prime of their race were known to never forget an insult.

Bazret Breathe.gif
General outline of how a Bazret's igniting works.
  1. Breathe in.
  2. Air goes to lungs and half that air goes to the [unnamed] organ where it mixes with some liquid thing and begins flammable fuel.
  3. After changing into fuel, goes to storage sac.
  4. When the Bazret is ready to ignite, they pump it through the [pump] organ.
  5. Fuel is pumped through the veins where the Bazret can control the intensity, length, and location of the flames.
  6. When it reaches the inside part of the fire pores, the fuel ignites and blasts out of the body.
