Fathiyaa’s vision blurred, the pain overwhelming her nervous system, her legs failing her. The Songaski collapsed backward, her armored body hurling to the stone steps. The Cathedral, that was the last thing she saw before it all went silent. The clicking sounds from the monsters, the screams and shouting of everyone around her all faded to a sweet silence. And for a brief moment all she could see was the towering steeples and gargoyles looking down on the horror that had cracked open just a few meters from her. Blood rushed from her stomach, bright red spilling out quickly from the wound left by the claws of the creature. She lurched, Fathiyaa twisted onto her side bright red liquid coming from her mouth as she spit up. Her blood quickly flowed from her ruined armor to the stone steps and the images of the Cathedral faded to darkness as Fathi went unconscious.

She was swept up by an old friend carried her through the city into the underworld she’d avoided for nearly thirty years. Along with her fellow Inquisitors, the bleeding Songaski and her carrier were met with odd, skeletal...beings, people they may have once been long ago. They took the group in, protected them despite their words. They led the Inquisitors deeper into the sewers, into a library of sorts into momentary safety until the clickers made themselves known again.

Through the battle between the Lich and the creatures she dreamt, lying helpless on a cot, Titus on another across from her in the small section off space in the lowest level of the library. She heard nothing of the shouting and screeches from the exchanging blows, saw nothing of the fight these strangers and friends fought alongside one another in the underbelly of the city. Nothing of the trembling fingers of the alchemist as she prepared her ingredients or the steadying hand on another's shoulder. Fathi just lay there, not aware of any of this going on around her.

Two of the people that called the library their home hoisted the wounded Inquisitor from her cot, out into the middle of the room laying her to the ground. Her wounds had stopped bleeding but the color in her face had faded by the time the monsters left, until they knocked someone from the stairs to the ground on top of the Songaski and others tending to her. She lurched again, spitting up bright red matching the color that flowed again from her wound in her stomach. Fathi’s vision cleared for just a moment, she knew this place..knew a face or two of those around her. She knew the Sihndar’s hand that was gripping hers, green eyes and red hair, Deldrax. One of the skull-faced strangers fed her something from a vial before the pain that stabbed, radiated out from her stomach faded along with her vision. The Songaski’s head fell back against the ground, she was out again. Her wound stabilized and she was carried again, this time my one of her own kind. A Songaski with red hair, bleeding from the same monsters, carried her into the city alongside her fellow Inquisitors. Fathiyaa woke once more before she was taken to the clinic, seeing the destroyed bridge of Greygate and the mass huddled before it, people crying, wounded trying to find each other and parents pleading for their children's lives.

It all went silent again as she collapsed to the ground, bright red coating the stone under her.

She would not wake again. Not for a while at least.
