FROM THE DESK OF HIS HIGH EMINENCE
THE LORD CHANCELLOR OF THE REGALIAN EMPIRE
A PROCLAMATION
On this day November the 15th, 308 AC, I, Lord Chancellor of Regalia, make the following proclamations.FROM THE DESK OF HIS HIGH EMINENCE
THE LORD CHANCELLOR OF THE REGALIAN EMPIRE
A PROCLAMATION
- On the Subject of the ludicrous amounts of public notices and threats of future violance that have congested the presses this morning, the Lord Chancellor has one warning. Any future acts of vandalism on the scale that has been seen last night, that take place in the immediate future, will not be met with investigations and diets and trials. It will be met with the consequences of severe Treason, which shall be a brief stay in Krakenburg followed by a swifter execution. Cease printing threats, and make peace in the streets, as best you may.
- On the Subject of the Crookback Burning, House Typhonus, with the backing of Houses Black and Peirgarten, calls for a Noble Diet to address the role of two Noble Houses in the burning of a Borough of the Crown Isle. It is roughly scheduled for Wednesday, November 18th 308 AC, 6pm Regalian Reckoning (6 EST).
- The Lord Chancellor will not pass final judgment on any Nobles who might be guilty of either fire until the Diet on Wednesday, so that both the Violet Order investigations have time to be completed thoroughly, and the Peerage can speak on the events that have transpired.
- Humaira Reinard has claimed responsibility for starting the fires, and as such, Augustin and Novellia Reinard, as well as all other members of Houses Reinard are not to be brought in just now but are heavily encouraged to attend the upcoming Diet.
- Members of House Haagenvig and Goretaan Throng are to be brought in for thorough questioning, before being allowed to roam the Capital under guard. Members of Houses Reinard, Haagenvig, and the Goretaan Throng, are forbidden to leave the Capital (unless in service to the War) until further instructed by the Lord Chancellor.
- However, no executions or maiming will take place, and no Nobles, guilty or otherwise, may be harmed in this process. The individual and organizations known as La Fra'ae and the Orthae Hold Sihndar, whom are suspected to be involved in the Crookback Burning as well, are also to be brought in for interrogation. The Lord Commander may pass judgement on non-noble guilty parties, but a more comprehensive list of charges and sentences will be dispensed from the Lord Chancellor's Office following the Diet on the 18th.
- On the Subject of the Petal Court Burning, the following organizations and individuals are publically accused of breaking the following laws.
- Kaahl Sarnai, Kaahl Khor'enn, the Withered Rose Coven, the Athanasia Scion, the Vlae'lona Cult, and the Soth'hrii Cluster.
-
Regalian Common Law
"To harm another citizen or non-citizen resident is illegal."
"To resist arrest from Regalian Guard Enforcement is illegal."
"To hide one's identity or to impersonate another is illegal."
Regalian Property Law
"To steal or damage the belongings of Regalian residents is illegal"
Regalian Arcane Law
"To utilize Occult Abilities which are harmful, unwanted, or negatively affecting another is illegal."
Regalian Political Law "To enter a criminal organization and/or work towards its cause is illegal."
"To support, aid, and/or associate with criminal organizations is illegal."
"To rebel against or disobey the Regalian State and/or Empire is illegal."
"To conspire against the Regalian State and/or Empire is illegal." - As such, the State makes clear that the above parties, are to be brought in for questioning to Greygate. The Requisition Bank has already placed bounties on the guilty parties above, and the State pledges to back that Bounty should the Bank fall short in its payments to deserving bounty hunters. The State makes clear it will cooperate with the Council's efforts through the Violet Order and the judgments of the Lord Commander, and that final judgment of those responsible for the Crookback Burning, in particular, will wait until the Council and the Lord Chancellor have spoken.
- On the Subject of the Refugees from both burnings, Reverend Harhold notes that the Salvation Church will be open to displaced individuals from both fires, and the Lord Commander makes note of the Estellian Temple being open to Petal Court refugees specifically. The Matron of the Dragon Temples notes the availability of refugees from either burning to rest therein. The Lord Chancellor decrees the Mercenary Keep to be open to refugees from Petal Court (and Crookback if necessary) until repairs may begin and instructs any Mercenaries operating in the Capital to begin making coin on hunting down the guilty parties announced in this Decree. The Crookback Council will oversee the housing of their refugees and rebuilding, as stated in their own adresses.
- On the Subject of Violet Order Reform, Cecille Typhonus is tasked with leading the Arcanum following the resignation of Commander Nym'vrae. It is noted that Commander Nym'vrae made their intent to resign clear a day before the Burnings, and it has only been made official following this decree.
The rulings of this decree take the full effect of State Law.
SIGNED AND STAMPED,
His High Eminence by the Grace of the Spirit
Lord Chancellor of the Regalian Empire
Dragon Knight of the Imperial Dragon
His High Eminence by the Grace of the Spirit

Dragon Knight of the Imperial Dragon

- The Next Diet is roughly Wednesday at 6pm US Eastern Time.
- If potentially guilty characters are arrested but not sentenced by the Violet Order at the time, they must be rp'd with at least every 15 minutes or be allowed to leave Greygate, with the understanding that they can still be sentenced in the days following.
- The "Lord Chancellor passes final judgement on all parties post Wednesday" is meant to allow this rp time to breathe and be enjoyed, and it is generally encouraged to not rush guard/council punishments.
