Just for reference in case I need it and to find some advice for working on art, I'll be posting some crap from my sketchbook here. My most recent work will not be hidden by spoilers, while crap that I've done a long time ago will be hidden away to mitigate some of the embarrassment. Enjoy (if you can stomach it), and hit me up with some advice if you've some to share!

ABOUT REQUESTS

While I cannot guarantee that I can draw your requests, you're more than welcome to write your requests into this thread. When I have the time, I'll see if I can give it a shot.

And no, no payment. I'm not going to charge for art that I don't feel is quality enough to be worth monetary value (Which is most of my work). :)

I'll also be picking requests when I have time and motivation. This means that not all requests will be picked up.

A page of sketches that I'm not overly embarrassed about.

A picture of Roland finishing his speech during the rebellion against the Qadir, done in the style of the game Darkest Dungeon.

A study of eye shape. Didn't get very far, but I thought it looked kinda cool to show off.

Aurelholt Kurt, the darndest sea-sailing scoundrel you will ever meet! Also a wind-mage in secret and heavily paranoid of his self-image.

Joscelin Francis, in all of his slack-jawed glory! Left for when he left Regalia, right for when he returns from Daendroc in three month's time to exact just and relentless revenge against his sister.

http://**********.com/images/29430607472121580844.jpg
A map of the first dungeon! It's supposed to lead to a network of caves dug out by a killing monster of an alternate dimension, though the PCs were spared from that horror for the sake of getting them a bit tougher (And more indignant) before they all die.

http://**********.com/images/69917200684048000725.jpg
The regional view of Lake Pelim, the body of water found in the center of the Telridan Marches. Its filled with dead people, all slain by the killing monster from the alternate dimension. Holes pock mark the region, from where the beast emerged. Quite pretty, if you ignore all that.

http://**********.com/images/98679283285204234377.jpg
Northford, the starting city and the seat of the duchess of Oddech. Stone walls surround and create every building in the city, all sundappled to a yellowish hue. Much of the city spills over the hillside, creating a cascading display of stone houses and red-tiled roofs seen from far and wide. As it is built upon the meeting of two tributary rivers, much of the city's upper districts are constructed on firm, foreboding cliffs. A city for soldiers and warriors, plagued by thieves and murderers.

An overarching map of the Telridan region, complete with little geographic drawings to indicate where the pointy and incredibly important defensive mountain range was.

The collected heroes of the Telridan campaign, depicted in a low-variety pixel portrait. From left to right is

  • Robert (The bastard son of the duke of Kaarjeras. A warrior, fighter, team muscle, and an all around good guy knight fella.)
  • Ace (The gambling and women-obsessed magician who casts by flinging inscribed cards. Binded a soul from the Feywilds to his familiar, creating an ultra-powerful raven familiar that has telepathic powers.)
  • Mar (The group's youthful and naive monk, who has nearly forfeited his vow of celibacy three times throughout the 8 session campaign. Also, cocaine addicted.)
  • Venir (The professional thief with ties to the Telridan underworld, and far too pragmatic for his own good. Rallies the team for an invasion against a rival criminal network.)

OLDER CRAP
http://**********.com/images/55752519814922967238_thumb.jpg
Mechanical pencil sketch of an indignant Winnefred!

http://**********.com/images/43605672753315894063_thumb.png
A medieval-esque impression of Joscelin Francis. Used a bunch of weird-ass brushes for this one, think I did alright with capturing that antiquated look. Nothing to be proud of, however.

http://**********.com/images/87765074679728022410_thumb.png
Another medieval-esque, this time of a low-ranking Regalian knight preparing for battle. Tried to go for the stiff and old look here, though I think I might have made him too rigid.

http://**********.com/images/28295366810960467886_thumb.png
Draft of what I think to be a pre-Cataclysmic Elven Imperial soldier. Glaives and all, with fancy helmet flourishings.

http://**********.com/images/84739960636852471033_thumb.png
A body proportion study that ended up way too edgy for its intended use.

http://**********.com/images/57014880100606427151_thumb.png
An armor design of a mercenary company hailing from Nordskag. One of my very few color works.

http://**********.com/images/14327616002529231848_thumb.png
Another armor design, this time drawn as a draft for a skin idea to be auctioned off. I forgot about it, 'tis why I never got around making that skin.

http://**********.com/images/86180969640006117863_thumb.png
A color image of Gerin Tirell, my thief character. Waaaay to thin, but it was an early practice for coloring moreso than a depiction of the character.

http://**********.com/images/55373283915209487486_thumb.png
An image of a Hedrylli Raider, drawn for the Hedryll page I had been writing a few months before.

http://**********.com/images/56327314864495278882_thumb.jpg
A bunch of sketches of the filthy freshmen at my old school that I was commissioned to do. If you see this, freshmen, I mean what I said.

A sketched picture of mai feic

http://**********.com/images/75382970818711289561_thumb.jpg
Luca drawn like a French girl, because he's a majestic piece of man meat like that. Rawwrrr.

My concept of the Dakkar, because I felt strongly against fire lizards one day. The idea was that these Dakkar could have 'hair' to distinguish themselves by applying pressure through leather bands or metal rings to shape them into the desired form.

http://**********.com/images/25791782900690342613_thumb.jpg
A collection of mentally-challenged looking Kurts. Seriously, that's all I can read from that Stonewall's stare.

Ruprecht Francis, the brother of Joscelin Francis and Leah Kade.

Ohmygodohmygod. hOOoOOW. This stuff is amazing!
AND YOUR HANDS. HOW. HOOOOW. how does one draw fingers so well wekaugdvkesudg.

All of this, including all of the 'older stuff' is absolutely fantastic, good job!

I've still got one of your older ones of my old character. I still reckon you're pretty amazing. Ever tried doing some digital art?

Yes, hello, this is a public service announcement. Could everyone kindly stop being so unreasonably talented!

There is one giant issue I can see in some of these works. You failed to use the proper orientation, and some heads are sideways.

I don't know if you realize, but the 'sideways' views are thumbnails; if you click them and open them up in a new page, they'll be the right orientation. Just at tip!

woah there

woah

how come I didn't know you had a magical ability to draw

This is Cynrick.

Cynrick is a half-orc, around 36 years of age. He is very much a non-orc, having refused his orcish heritage by conscious choice and chasing around the behavior and manners of his human father. He barely speaks casually, reserving his disgustingly gruff voice for commanding, Stallone-esque one-liners to charm the listeners. In addition, he is my D&D character for @Green_Hood 's upcoming campaign, so he'll hopefully be kicking some butt while he's around.

Think I might have skewed the perspective on his hair during the transfer, but I think I did alright with the facial expression this time around. To add, he's also got a little pixel art that I did a bit earlier.

Oh, he's just looking for attention :) His art is good and he knows it
With all the art flowing around MassiveCraft, it's understandable to be hesitant to post your own art. It can be intimidating, so I'd say he isn't just looking for attention, but instead, trying to come across as lighthearted with the title. I guess that's up to @MrHappyTinkles to say, since he created the thread.

Personally, I think this art is amazing and the style is its own-- keep it up, Tinks! Amazing work. :D I'm really jealous of the pixel art.~

Hehe. To be 100% honest, I've been extremely hesitant of posting art on the forums major for at least a good two years. This is somewhat a cry for attention, because its sort of a way to say that I can at least do art and feel confident about posting it now. Hence the thread title. :)

There is no chance you could draw other people's characters, I suppose?
Cries because he's poor.

There's nothing wrong with wanting attention or wanting people to see the work you've worked hard on. In this case I think you totally deserve all the attention this thread is gathering, your art is bomb.

This is a falskgriff, or the wingless griffin. I was gonna submit some player-written lore about these apex predators of the kingdoms of Torse and Silver Shores about a month ago, but I never really got around to it.

Aww, they're so muderously cute!

Hello again, everyone! I've been back from Kyoto for about 6 days, now. Since I haven't been practicing much form/face sketching while I was there, my skills have rusted up considerably. Despite this, I managed to struggle out two new character sketches; an upcoming D'Ithanie character and Roland Blakely in new armor.
