Should we adopt this for our faction worlds?

Here's a quick little idea for getting the economy flowing within Massivecraft. Upon doing some research over irl international enterprises and international trade, I got the idea of 'What if factions performed such tradings?'

What if factions did tradings upon a large scale trade for resources and income? Perhaps having a plugin that allows faction leaders to buy and sell mass abondances of rescourses like wood and valuable metals.

I could only find a few worrying flaws/issues involving a trade system such as this. The most important issue being the idea that factions may not be popular enough for this trade system to be a success. The trade system would indeed introduce another aspect of realism to our faction worlds and even draw attention from regalians, but would the demand for needed rescources be great enough to actually bring a form of mass trade?

For the demand of large intakes of needed resources to go up, we'd need more factions having a demand for supplies to build new homes and cities. But this idea brought a new light to me that I found absolutely exhilarating. With a form of this kind of economic trade there is the idea of having a risk to it, a risk that makes my bones jitter. There could be a form of trade raids, the raid for needed resources like pots and materials.

This would bring both pvp to our very economy and give this kind of trade system an even greater aspect of realism and RP. For this to work we'd need the trade between factions to be manual however, which brings the fact that this can and will draw attention away from our safe markets. Drawing attention away from the markets, by my own opinion, can prove to be an issue for individual marketing of rescouces. This is a matter I would find important to discuss about with other players/staff if we were to consider having mass trade between factions.

I would greatly consider this kind of trade since it could bring more attention to our faction worlds just like our Crisis of Kings had. With the inclusion of trade raids we can allow factions to raid each other for resources WITHOUT bringing damage to player made builds within our factions while keeping our wonderful vaults safe, at least until one was to decide to do tradings with another faction. This can also allow players to hire pvpers to defend their trades from raiders, which brings a greater flow within our economy while giving the pvpers something fun to do and get more God weapons.

As a merchant I love the idea of having a risk when making trades and making money, so I would be greatly thrilled to have our economy become an exciting experience of battling for both profit and triumph.

I would greatly welcome everyone's ideas on this and hopefully make this a reality if it can be both achieved and make our experience on Massivecraft better than any other server could manage!

Why not just use a stall at /tp Market for your whole faction and offer money to your members for harvesting resources that you put into your "Faction Shop"? I personally don't like the influence the Server Market has, since most of the top earners are people who own one of the stores in the middle of the market.

As a gesture of self-promotion, I'm hoping to set up markets and easy access to Hoyle for this exact reason, so people can come browse goods that my members put up for sale and maybe find good deals. However, for us specifically, it's going to be a matter of how many of my players personally decide to set up shops to browse.

For self promotion I would most recommend using trade chat since it would gather the attention of everyone online.

Factions can most definitely do that. There's not many factions with shops within their territory however, the only successful one I know of is Salemslot. However with my idea you can still do the same thing when it comes to paying your members, but also bring more light upon factions pvp with trade raids. You and your members can go on raids for your own source of profit or go into trade and sell the goods while you all share the profit. The purpose of this idea is to bring more competition to both our pvp community and our own economy. With competition there's more goals to be achieved for our players, giving even new players to dive into and become apart of our community.

Of course players owning the largeshops are the top earners. They've invested thousands of regals into both buying and upkeeping their shops for greater income. Nowadays largeshops owners sell their shops for more than 30k regals, so the largeshops would have to rake in the most profit to make such an investment worth the cost. This however doesn't stop mediumshops from making sales as they are able to compete against prices and attract customers through self promotions within Trade Chat.

In the older citys on the server, you find old trade boats with the emblems of now dead factions, if somehow you could create a siege type scenario, where the faction in question has to protect the ship in its harbour from raiders, if the raiders manage to clear the ship or deck of all defenders then the booty on board becomes theirs, also i feel for this to have any real meaning, defenders would not be allowed to hide below deck during this siege/ raid scenario. The ships would allow for direct trading between factions but also as a point for raiders to attack for their own benefit. I know the chances of it coming into play are slim but it is just an idea

Let me explain my point. I don't like the Server Market's influence regardless of Medshops or Largeshops. The Server market creates a *centralized* hub of trade where people can compare and contrast prices so literally everyone can see how ****ed the server economy is, with regals flowing in faster than they are drug out. I don't personally think that the server economy needs *fixed* however. If the centralized server economy was "removed" then people would have a harder time of seeing how bad things are price-wise comparatively. This would mean that newer players to the server in general would feel more confident in selling/buying items with the *MASSIVELY* (que laugh track) inflated Regal, and the market would at least work, as opposed to the current status of regals being good for no more than paying upkeep tax on your faction.
