Hello. As you may know, I'm from America. I've been all across this country, from my home in Pennsylvania, to the plains of Kansas, the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, to the plateaus of Texas, to the red, rocky deserts of Nevada and Arizona. America is a diverse continent full of diverse people.

Now, this is the "feature and idea suggestion" subforum, not the "what places have you visited" subforum, so my suggestion is what if there was a continent based on the Americas? According to the Massivecraft Wiki, only about 30% of Aloria has been discovered. It's entirely possible that a new continent exists out there, possibly several. So, why not have a continent based on America, or the Americas? It could feature rocky mountains, plains, red deserts, tundras, redwood forests (something I'd love to see), swamps, rolling hills, etc. There are even jungles is you include Latin America. America is a very diverse place, so there's a ton of material to work with. I'm not suggesting this because I'm some kind of über patriot or something. I legitimately think this would be an awesome place to see.

The people of the continent could be based off of Native Americans. This would explain why they haven't been discovered yet, since Native Americans didn't go out to sea much, if at all. They mostly stayed put. Maybe the other types of humans that live there would have American accents (big maybe, since that would possibly break the medieval feel of the server). Possibly, there could be even more new races, but I know new race suggestions aren't really accepted, so I won't name any ideas here.

Now this world wouldn't need to be playable, at least not any time soon, but I feel like it'd be a nice addition to the lore. And, if world staff does get around to making it, they would have so much to work with. I feel like they could have a field day with a continent like this.

Please comment your thoughts and ideas below, but keep them civil and respectful. Thanks for reading, and have a Massive day!

I think there's been quite a few continents discovered that take parts of "America" and put it into the lore. I don't think there's a specific culture based off native American, but I do know Mezoamerican was considered for Songaskians. As such, you could say the continent of Solangeria is a sort-of South America and Central America. At the same time, look at Fendarfell. It's the most "recent" in terms of Regalian colonies and has lots of elements from northern america. It's the current frontier and I'd compare it to 1600s America.

I reckon if we ever wanted to the main area of Regalia could gradually progress to be alot more like 1920s (fantastic beasts esque) America.

Or atleast the progressions in technology and advanced poltical opinions.

In my opinion a gradual transition like that should begin, just subtly until nobody noticed it happened. It shouldn't be 'oh good morning, welcome to the 19th century, it seems you missed the past 800 years while you were sleeping good fellow!'

I love that idea. Or maybe there could be a secondary roleplay world.

I would love to see this in a lot of ways. Put them west of Daen. There were a lot of huge empire's in southern america, that could have probably rivaled the Roman Republic in some instances for size and sophistication (and road networks), that could be drawn on for inspiration on a culture. My ideal would be one or two largeish cultures in a far north stretch of the continent with more tribal societies dominating the south or something. Could be interesting.

Though there would have to be some major, unignorable places in the page where it states that people from this land are extremely rare in Regalia, maybe the larger cultures know about Regalia from trade with the Elves or something.

There was the Muird continent with the Tarchlann people a while ago, which was somewhat based on America and Native Americans. They had cigars and their own type of magic involving a variety of spirits and stuff. It was redacted quite a few months ago since it was barely played, plus the lore was a bit messy. Source.

I'd be for an America-inspired continent just because cactus are indigenous to the Americas and I would love to see an equivalent landmass in Aloria :D

Although I would love to see another continent, just having yet another Ailor culture i'm not sure i'd be a fan of. As much as I love reading their lore, there is just simply already so much. And like said above, I believe a lot of the fringe-Regalian colonies have the kind of American-esque vibe. I would however love to see more of a Native-American culture somewhere on Massive- maybe the Mu-Allar for example, who as of yet have very little information on their base culture. They live isolated in the jungles of Sendras, so there could be something worth looking into there. Maybe a Mayan sort of culture? They have been isolated for almost 200 years.

well, personally I think the technology and politics in Regalia are too far advanced. This is supposed to be a medieval roleplay/factions fantasy server, and I think that's what works best with the mechanics and items minecraft gives. I really feel strongly that any move that would culturally advance the environment of massive into another time period is a bad idea. As for the world, I think the more medieval parts of america have already been integrated into several worlds. But really, one of the reasons I don't roleplay as much as I would is because Regalia just seems too industrial revolution for me...

From what i've gathered, I think the lore is leaning towards a 17th/18th century without hand-held gunpowder weapons. Everything else seems to fit nicely into that era, from my view. Military, nobility, other tech too. But yeah, it's advertised as medieval so I really don't know.

I would like to respectfully disagree as to why I don't think this is a good idea and to also inform people of the current lore.

In terms of America, I would assume you mean geographically speaking. There is no place better than Essalonia, which already exists in our lore. The continent currently possesses an arid southern climate with steppes and deserts as well as wetlands, woodlands, plains and mountains elsewhere. This nation is the sort of all-in-one terrain that encompasses the United States.

The culture of this region is the Colonial Culture which is comparable to the Puritans of the Mayflower and the other similar sects who came from Europe. Their accents are about as close as you might get to an "American" accent in our world.

Fendarfelle is one of the older regions of colonization for the Regalian Empire, the continent was known to exist for a number of years thanks to the Ithanians. Also, it's not that North American as the multiple volcanoes (active and inactive) are nothing like what we have today.

Thanks for making me aware of this continent! I was unaware of it, mostly since it's not on the official map of Aloria I just assumed it was a small island somewhere and never really looked into it. Too bad there are no Native American style people, but I'm happy to see this suggestion is already a thing!

yea... it is more 18th century and I don't like it =P

Aloria is whatever time period it needs to be for story purposes. Generally it seems to fall under 17th-18th century, with the architecture and fashion, and tech, barring hand held gunpowder weapons. It also has a lot of elements of the 13th century, some steam punk thrown in for good measure, and a lot of other things.

I don't see much issue in the setting, its not meant to be historical its just meant to be cool.

I totally agree with this, and I'd love to see some time period progression in Regalian RP since it's been stuck in the medieval era for well over a few centuries. It's already got steampunk machinery and cannons anyway.

well yea its cool, but I just really like a medieval setting =P
its still really well done though. I just have weird personal preferences from being a nerd

A little off topic but if you want accurate results for a poll, it's better to just have 2 answers available; one for yes and one for no. Makes it a lot easier to read than having the responses spread over 7 answers.
Then again that's just one of my pet peeves.

Sorry.
