Alms Ministry February Report It is the Alms Ministry’s desire to promote trust and transparency with matters concerning state funds, public donations, and community projects. Therefore, at the end of each month, a publicly available report of the ministry’s doings will be available for review. A letter from the Minister, This month has seen even further hands-on efforts from people of our fair city, all of whom prove not only a strong will to serve the people, but a level of creativity and genuine good-spiritedness that shines like a warm beacon to all. From lectures in mead-making and animal husbandry, to far off missionary work, to large-scale renovations, and even an expansion of our very rights, the Alms Ministry continues to grow from its foundation of devoted staff, and generous supporters. Let us take time this month to reflect on the universality of charity. People of varying religious and cultural backgrounds stepped forward this February to remind us all that despite our differences, some things remain constant: that the privileged shall serve the less fortunate: that no person in need shall be overlooked: that every innocent person is deserving of security. Let these universal truths sing to each of us, no matter the form in which they are preached. Let us disagree with one another, vary from one another, even dislike those we choose to; but let us recognize what we can accomplish together, if we decide to work as one, for a common goal: for the good of our society. Animal Husbandry Open House - Grace Tuija Viduggla, our Events Manager, invited the public and peerage to bring their favorite animal friends to the Alms House courtyard, where we learned how they’re cared for (and how they like to be petted). Mead-Making - Dame Humaira Reinard has seen to using the honey from our bee boxes to teach the public how to ferment honey-mead! Fire Brigade Assists the Violet Order - The Fire Brigade assisted the Violet Order in a controlled burn in the city, proving their bravery and training! Filling of bowls - Mr. Lee Ming-Qie and Mr. Alasdair douglas have each devoted several evenings to cooking and serving food in the kitchens. Thank you for warming the fires, and the bellies of many! Spiritual Discussions - His Grace Abelhard Latimer, Curate Miguel de Grizio, Grace Cillian Mac Conall, Mr. Onan, and Ser Alduir Stormblade all took time to make themselves available for religious discussions, sharing their faiths and inviting others to join them. Fire Brigade Training - Captain of the Brute Squad and Fire Chief Duchess Natharia Mac Conall has not only seen to the meeting and hiring of many new members of the Brute Squad, but has ensured that our Fire Brigade remains at the ready with training exercises. Settling In - Many of our reliable volunteers were seen assisting newcomers to the city, offering tours, chatting with them, and showing them where they could find food and shelter as they settle in the City of Regalia. Ongoing Projects These projects are more day-to-day activities, and are headed by our Supervisors. Seek them out if you are interested, or apply for a position with your own ideas! Eponia Eledhwen: Organizes and runs self defense training classes. Alisdair Lachlan: Established a system to offer guided city tours to newcomers (accepting tour guides!) Natharia Mac Conall: Oversees the Fire Brigade as Fire Chief, and oversees the Brute Squad Dame Humaira Reinard: Forges and repairs weapons and tools/brews mead from bee boxes Tuija Viduggla: Offers many lectures on various topics Anyone is free to jump in and stir up activity at our vegetable garden or in the public kitchen at any time! A Villiers shakes his head with a smile as he reads through the report. "They give me too much credit." He says to no-one in particular, before tacking the report to a small noticeboard next to his door. He gazes at it a moment longer, before he grabs his helmet off the counter, replaces it on his head, and pulls his cloak around his armored frame as he makes his way back out into the bustling streets of the Holy City, glowing slightly brighter than normal.
