Opening Letter

With deepest commendations to those who have fought for our return to order, we owe our peace to you all. However, there is much yet to do, and healing is not an instant process. Wounds must be tended with patience and consistency, and even so, scars may form over what has healed. The abundant kindness and support from those who wish to see our city flourish once again has been only more of a reminder that there is good within all corners and creeds of our citizens, and that when called upon, that goodness can become a force. There will indeed be an October monthly report, which will hold details of upcoming events, efforts, and opportunities for you all to join us in rebuilding. For now, however, let us address the most pressing concerns of the Alms Ministry, and what we intend to do as we move forward.

Officer of Commoners Position:

Duchess Hera van Hal has relieved herself of the position of Officer of Commoners. She is commended for excellence in seeing to the needs of the position, and it is with gratitude and fair wishes that she will continue to serve the city through her position as the Privy Officer.

The Officer of Commoners position is now open, and accepting applicants. Applicants can send a letter to arrange a formal interview, and this position will be filled when a suitable applicant is found, and those wishing to step forward have had their chance to apply.

The Officer of Commoners rights are as follows:
The right to host "Commoner's Assemblies" wherein citizens may proclaim concerns and needs.
The right to access Violet Order records for investigations into matters raised in Commoner Assemblies.

Be aware that this position will involve a bi-weekly (or monthly, depending on attendance) hosting of Commoners Assemblies, after which a summary document should be made public. This position can be held by a noble or commoner, and is a fairly active responsibility.

Reconstruction and Relief

As pursuant to the Lord Chancellor's latest decree, restoration efforts must be organized with care and planning. While larger projects happen across the city, however, let us not find ourselves idle. There is much to be done, even for those of little coin or skill. Therefore, our efforts will focus on the following types of actions:

Community Outreach - to mend the scars of a city's people, and bond us once again in kindness and unity.
Handiwork - to clean the streets, prepare for infrastructure, and put our hands to good work.

Economic Opportunities - to see to the needs of displaced people through job-finding and support.
Compassion Projects - religious, social, or otherwise tending to the wounded hearts of those afflicted by tragedy.
Education - to ensure that all citizens have a fair chance at achieving their personal goals.
Reconstruction - with proper channels of approval and funding plans, we will repair what has been broken.
Commoners Assemblies - for anything we miss, once a new Officer of Commoners is appointed, we will see the return of these essential Assemblies.

Additionally, the Minister will hold frequent open-hours and is available through appointment.

Monthly Reports

There are no Monthly Reports for the months of August and September, however an October report will be released at the end of the month, including the beginning steps already being taken by the Ministry, as well as upcoming efforts to which you can pledge your support.

As always, there is no approval process needed to become a volunteer with us. Simply heed our notices, and join us as we put our hands to work!

Glory to the Empire, and its People.

Signed,
Her Serene Grace Sivrid Sorenvik
Archduchess of Irvainvik
Alms Minister
Valsung and Jovrlov of the Velheim
