    Personality and Abilities (Required)
    • How would your character respond to experiencing Fear?
      • Before her pilgrimage home, she was a non-confrontationalist by nature and was quick to take her leave when the situation turned in her favor. Since returning to the holy city, she’s more likely to skirt along the boundaries of the things she fears. It borders on recklessness, but is founded on the basis of testing her limits. She’ll stand her ground until she feels truly threatened, attempting to appear as if she’s in control of the situation until she needs to pull back and rely on another.
    • How would your character respond to experiencing Stress?
      • Alice has since drawn out of her anxiety, often trying to grab stressful situations by the reins and taking them in stride. She’s prone to putting on brave fronts, intent on convincing those watching that she has the final say on the events unfolding. The Nelfin is more calculating than she lets on, attempting to minimize stress by preparing for the things that bring anxiety. In situations when none of the aforementioned is possible, she becomes manic easily, likely lashing out and entering a panic until things have been resolved.
    • How would your character express feeling Happy?
      • In contrast to her brother, happiness and its expression come easily to the woman. She’s keen on quick grins, flashing her teeth momentarily before covering the expression with one hand. The woman isn’t as emotionally reined in as the rest of her family, conveying what she feels freely.
    • How does your character view Law and Authorities?
      • She holds them in high regard, and is averse to openly defying laws and breaking regulations. They are the cornerstone of the civilized world, and what separates thinking individuals from livestock. She is not, however, reserved when it comes to bypassing laws if they’re against her best interests. The Altalar keeps such acts of defiance under the radar, and abides rules when they’re convenient for her. Since her conversion, her opinions of the law have become muddled. She views her progression as a mage to be the penultimate noble pursuit - something the likes of paltry laws and regulations should have no business in interrupting.
    • How does your character feel about Races other than their own?
      • Since her conversion and curing, her once solid opinions have been watered down with doubt. Where once she would’ve lauded the Altalar as being eternally in the moral high ground, her time spent as a Saivale has bred some compassion and pity where before there existed none. She’s firmly of the opinion that most common Ailor are short sighted and foolish, but feels that it’s a consequence of their shorter
    • How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths?
      • Her beliefs have been shaken and rebuilt endlessly over the course of her life. Prior to her stint as a Kathar, she was a devout Cae-maen worshipper, eager to protect and sacrifice herself. Her interactions as a Saivale would cause her to lose her ring, but after being restored, she’d find her faith once more. However, due to the allure of being in close proximity to arcane feats and progressing her ability as a mage, she’d forsake the Pantheon with finality.
    • How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world?
      • She finds immense pride in her talent, believing herself and other mages to be more capable than any footsoldier or craftsman. As a scholar first and foremost, she seeks to understand and catalogue the forms of magic she encounters. Her time spent amongst mages sparked a desire to see the magically inclined realize their talents - the treatment of mages amongst Ailor is a long-held point of contention to the woman. Her curiosity burns brightest when it comes to matters of the arcane, never a stranger to adventure or expeditions with the potential to discover something new.
    • How does your character feel towards their family?
      • Alice holds her family closest to her heart, her three siblings the most important individuals in her life. She very rarely draws close to outsiders, her true intentions and feelings only laid bare to Asher, Rhoen, and Severine. They are the pillars of her personal life, and she depends on them if her plans go awry and needs support or someone to rely on. To her, they are unshakable and infallible, sources of comfort and the most precious individuals to her.
    • What is your character's biggest insecurity?
      • Despite her flagrant pride in her appearance, the Altalar is entirely unsure of her position amongst her family and race. She spent months at a time as a Saivale, and her own wholehearted devotion to the enemy, their religion, and their empire has shaken her internal compass. Although externally she feels as if her loyalties have normalized, the seed of doubt has been planted deep enough that she often finds herself questioning her allegiances. Is there some part of her deep down that refused to be cured of her Dread possession? Was empathy for Kathar fostered during her time, and did it survive her curing? These errant worries plague her thoughts, marring her sense of identity.
    • What is your character the most proud of about themselves?
      • Her identity as a Silven, mage, and sister to a true Est’alorn favored by the pantheon. Her upbringing amongst other Altalar, and eventual residence amongst other mages fostered her sense of appreciation for those of Arken descendance. She sees it as an honor and privilege, the circumstances surrounding her birth blessed and elevating her above the mundane. Having spent around five decades studying the arcane and developing her own magic, her trade is easily the most important thing to her, just above her identity as a Silven. She holds immense pride about the circumstances of her birth - her parent, her patron, even the magic she studies, all because they point to her identity as a healer and protector.
    • What motivates your character to move forward and better their life?
      • The prospect of leaving a lasting impact on future generations. She’s willing to pay any price for the promise of achieving a legacy that will outlive her centuries. With her brother as a shining beacon of what’s possible in their family, Alice strives earnestly to live up to his reputation as Talea’s blessed. Despite her seemingly lackadaisical nature, she’ll apply herself to the tasks given to her, all for the sake of being useful to her family and her people.
    • What is your character's biggest fear?
      • The woman fears the spectres of her past. Those who’d hurt her extensively, and those who had been intimately involved in the process of her turning and curing. Since her pilgrimage, she’s built herself a tall wall, hiding behind extrovertive behaviors and mannerisms. She acts more confidently, as if to deny the plausibility of her fear. Alice ardently avoids the aforementioned individuals, fearing she might lose her hold on the mask she’s donned.

    Life Story (Required)

    Childhood

    • Alicientella Rhylovhas is born in 231 AC to Yraenor Rhylovhas in Teled Methen, on the 11th day of January. She is preceded by two siblings, one of them a bright-eyed Exist Silven much like herself. Her birth-mother differed from the others, though she’s treated just the same as the other children.
    • The girl is every bit like her mother - a worrywart through and through. Despite her reserved and bookish nature, she was always taking care of her youngest brother Rhoen, and her eldest brother’s child, Orym. The three were only a few years apart in age, and raised closely.
    • She’s educated rigorously, much like the rest, but she takes to her studies well. Alice spends most of her time in the libraries, away from most socialization, taking her flights of fancy from the worlds contained within the pages. While not as interested in history as her brother, the tales of archmages often captured her imagination, a frenzied interest that would persist throughout the rest of her life.
    • Her magic would eventually manifest itself - granting her the ability to control space itself. The Nelfin’s passion for the arcane would give her life purpose, and she’d exercise this new skill as often as possible.
    Adolescence
    • Having spent so much time around her mother, the girl’s predisposition as a caretaker is solidified. Her lack of socialization makes her uneasy, but she finds the urge to help others stronger than any sense of anxiety. She’s considered a black sheep to the proud Altalar, but she continues on.
    • With no other hobbies aside from studying and the arcane, the girl decides to leave the safety of her home to get real experience in the outside world. It would take her to various ports, as she followed local urban legends and other folk tales to investigate potential mages or the arcane.
    • At the age of thirty, she returns home, to be ushered onto her pilgrimage to commune in the Mirror Pools of Talea. She is accompanied by her eldest brother Aeralaanys, and after their journey, she returns home donning the Ring of Cae-Maen.
    Adulthood
    • Alicientella hears of her brother’s presence in the city, as well as rumors of a massive arcane presence, so she follows suit. She spends two years fitting into society much like her brother had before her, reuniting and assisting him where she could.
    • The woman’s beliefs are shaken and rebuilt countless times over, as she befriends and subsequently falls in and out of favor with numerous crime, guard, or unaligned factions. A long chain of events with the Kathar leave her shaken, and Alice is ordered home by Aeralaanys to recuperate.
    • She returns some months later, her confidence and faith restored. She would go on to consolidate a majority of the city’s mages in one group, bargain with a Herald, establish relationships with factions across the city, and support her brother’s objectives.
    • Her ever-proceeding quest for arcane empowerment leads her into the laps of the first two Apostles, leading to her ascension as the first Lector. She continues now, her objective the same as ever, pursuing a higher magical truth.
