"I cannot imagine how the clockwork of the universe can exist without a clockmaker"- Voltaire

Theme:

✧➣House Icons: Cactus Wren
✧➣House Colours: Dark Blue and Orange
✧➣Races: Qadir primarily, although few Sundial Altalar
We may be open to more, although would need good reasoning behind it.
✧➣Family Culture: Traditional Qadir culture, seen in the Hadrityas.
Although, this is not enforced, and is slowly being drifted from. Even with the family now having a small group of Sundial Altalar in their folds!
✧➣Family Trade: Clockwork Engineering
Some do deviate from this, usually becoming guards to the family's travelling caravans. Any work outside of the family business/trade are traditionally shunned upon, although this is slowly disappearing.

✧➣Family Values: Innovation, creation and honest work.
The engineers of the family are held above all other members, however, if any ill-doings are committed through their trade, such as selling weapons to those who have ill-intentions, they will swiftly be disowned.
✧➣Social Status: Commoner.
Although, throughout their history, many of the family members have ascended to the position of Hadritya Elder, but this is on an individual to individual basis.
✧➣Religion: Traditionally worship the Esrah Alwattah.

The history of the al-Ali family is fairly standard by Qadir standards, their history being traceable back to the Great Storm, finding themselves firmly settled within Al-Alus. The family rose to prosperity through their clockwork abilities and devoted worship to the Esrah Alwattah, much of the family finding themselves falling into Clockwork and/or joining the Priesthood of the Esrah. The family maintained their traditional way of life, and lived with relative peace amongst themselves, until the prior Patriarch to the family, Talal al-Ali, was discovered to have stolen schematics from the family, leading to the family elder, Jaffar, to cast him from his home, where he turned to joining a travelling caravan, where he soon met his eventual bride. This sparked much turmoil in the family, as Talal was, for the most part, universally adored within the family, leaving behind the mystery as to his motivations to such a betrayal. Due to his children, Aska and Birc, being born outwith the influence of their family, began to drift more and more from the more traditional teachings of the past.

If you wish to get involved, please send me a message on discord (M0llymaukTealeaf #3822) with your character concept, and we can work on it to fit in with the family. In the early stages of setting this up, we really need some help in fleshing out the family tree! Look forward to hearing from you!
The majority of the family start their training in clockwork tinkering from as early as they can, although not everyone takes this proficiency as easily as others. As a result, many of the family turn to training as guards to protect their travelling caravans, moving from Hadritya to Hadritya. Other members turn to joining the Priests in Al-Alus in the Hadrityas. Typically, they held the traditional values of the Qadir in high regards, although in recent years such things have become less and less prevalent, especially amongst those immigrating to Regalia. This is not to say that such ideals are non-existent, just on the back burner when compared to other values, which differ greatly from individual to individual, much to the dismay of many of the older family members.
As per usual, we would ask that you behave in a friendly and civil manor OOC and act within the servers rules. Be a good sport, don't hold OOC grudges for stuff that happens IC (just because someone's character hates your character doesn't mean the player hates you), don't meta-game and just be an overall chill person.
We expect that after applying to the family, you will be working towards, or already have an accepted character application. There's no rush to get it all done and dusted, but as long as you're slowly building it up, all is good. If you need any help, feel free to ask in the discord!
We would much appreciate if you're character doesn't become one which you quickly shelf and never touch again. We'd love it if you could be at least somewhat active in the family affairs, and join in on the fun!
We really encourage you to make your family member to fit yourself. We would love as much diversity as possible within the clan, and don't want to take your creative freedoms when writing them up. All we ask is that you don't go too "out-there" in concepts and totally going off the rails and ignore the family lore, as well as the pre-established lore found on the wiki. Remember, this is a rather traditional Qadir family, which is slowly becoming more progressive and integrating itself into Regalian society.
