Clad in dark, intricate armor that reflects little light. His armor is sleek yet battle-worn, with a signature burgandy insignia on his chest — a marker of house Alein , his build lean but strong, and every piece of his armor is custom-forged for both protection and intimidation.
Beneath the helm, he bears a sharp face — angular features, a furrowed brow, a deep scar, and piercing eyes that have a mole underneath. His hair is dark, tousled, and swept back. Pointed ears hint at his Isldar heritage, and his default expression is cold.
Life Story / Plot Hooks
The Lysandor family, once a modest line of loyal servants, traced their roots to both Regalia and Ellador. Aelthas's father, Thydlea of Ellador, had left his homeland in search of opportunity, settling in the province of Counenne. There, fate introduced him to Isula Lysandor—an Isldar woman already serving within the esteemed House Alein.
Their meeting was not romantic, but circumstantial. Isula was bound by duty; Thydlea, by necessity. House Alein offered Thydlea a position—thanks to the Count's generosity—and with time, the Lysandor family pushed the two into marriage. It was practical: higher wages for Thydlea, and a child to continue the Lysandor name.
That child was Aelthas.
But to his parents, Aelthas was never truly a son. He was a project—a servant-in-training. From the moment he could walk, he was taught not to play, but to serve. His childhood was spent polishing silver, learning etiquette, and memorizing House Alein's legacy. Isula and Thydlea treated him more like an apprentice than blood.
Aelthas was assigned to Lady Alein, a young noble just two years his junior. He was her attendant, her companion, her silent guardian. He studied music, dance, languages, and poetry—not for himself, but to better serve her whims. Over time, teasing banter replaced formal distance, but the roles they played never changed.
-
Confidential documents from House Alein began appearing in the public eye—information that could ruin reputations. Rumors spread from Counenne to the Capital, whispers of betrayal clinging to the name of Alein. After months of investigation, the trail led back to the unlikeliest suspects: the Lysandors.
The Count and Countess were furious. Their hospitality, they declared, had been abused. They had offered the Lysandors not just employment, but dignity—manors, fair wages, and a place in their extended household. To repay that kindness with treachery was unforgivable. The entire Lysandor family was cast out, exiled from House Alein's service and name.
But Lady Alein resisted the verdict. She had grown up with Aelthas. She knew him—knew his heart, his loyalty, his sacrifices. She demanded a meeting with her father, and after a long, impassioned argument, Aelthas was summoned.
The Count issued his ruling: Aelthas would be spared—but only if he severed all ties to his family. He was to denounce the Lysandor name, forfeit all family property, and redeem his lineage by pledging himself to the Regalian military. His punishment was to survive, under the harshest of scrutiny, as a soldier bearing the stain of treason.
At 18, in the year 303, Aelthas joined the Regalian Military. He was assigned to the Union's Wrath, branded a Blackmark—an expendable sword. Raised in noble halls, trained as a butler, Aelthas had never seen true war. The Arlora War introduced him to pain, chaos, and failure. He was wounded, nearly killed on multiple occasions, but he endured.
By the time of the Bone Crisis, Aelthas had learned to survive. When his commanding officer fell in battle, Aelthas took command and led a critical assault to a mini victory. In 305, his leadership during a siege caught the attention of the Iron Duke himself. Aelthas's petition for knighthood was granted.
But the title came at a cost. To Aelthas, the Blackmarks were no longer what they once were - working purely for the Duke. Disillusioned, Aelthas resigned from both the Blackmarks and the Union's Wrath. He transferred to the Sidrine Wall in late 305, seeking a purer purpose.
Later that year, he was deployed to the 2nd Masand. Despite the carnage, he rose to Commander again. Still, his body bore the cost of every campaign. When the Isldar civil war ignited in 310, Aelthas—though scarred—volunteered.
This time, he requested not to lead, but to serve. He joined a platoon of Regalian Knights, humbled by age and memory. It was among them that he first truly connected with his heritage, learning the ancient tongue of Sulvaley and fighting beside his kin.
In the first week, he met Irvannis—a healer with sharp wit and sharper sarcasm. Their relationship began as friction, but soon forged into unbreakable camaraderie. They trained together, bled together, drank and argued late into the night. Irvannis taught Aelthas healing magic; Aelthas taught Irvannis the blade.
-
Irvannis broke formation, chasing after a figure through the rubble. Aelthas, still slowed by his wounds, pursued. When he found him, Irvannis was dying, pinned beneath another man. Aelthas struck the attacker away with his shield and rushed to heal Irvannis. But nerves and grief betrayed him—the spell backfired, accelerating Irvannis's death.
Before he could mourn, the enemy returned, landing a savage blow to Aelthas's head. The fight that followed was brutal—anger against enjoyment. - A final slash tore through Aelthas's face, claiming half his sight and consciousness.

ISLDAR MECHANICS (copy pasted)
- Isldar are natural-born Arctic survivalists who have spent centuries adapting to the cold of Ellador. Not only are they immune to the harm from frost or cold sources, but they do not suffer loss of vision or orientation during a blizzard or weather conditions. Isldar are not affected by Magical Weather Area Effects. Isldar can sing frost into the water, causing ice crystals to form that do not melt when exposed to heat.
- Isldar hold power over the passage of life and death. If they are near a person who is about to die, they can either ensure that the soul passes into the afterlife and is not stolen by other entities or prevent it from even detaching from their body, thus turning that person into an Undead forcibly. Additionally, Isldar can see the Soul Rivers, the natural pathways souls take to reach the afterlife, and can tell if a person has died if they know their true name.
- Isldar who do not follow the Aldurist Religion can put security incantations and prayers on their homes, making them naturally impervious from being spied upon, or broken into. With the OOC consent of other players, they can also use spy equipment to discover what is happening in their Rental Regions.
- Isldar have natural suppressants in their own mind against interference and meddling from the outside. Even with OOC consent given, Isldar minds have stronger protection against any form of Mind Control. Their emotions are also not readable by those who can read and change emotions, unless they specifically let their mind be entered. Finally, Isldar minds also hold strong protections against the prying of Spirits. While they are not immune to a Spirit's influence, Spirits cannot easily detect their vices and ambitions to seduce them.
- Starting Combat in a cold weather environment (with blocks of snow or ice present), Isldar gain +2 Attack Stat (breaking Cap up to 11) for every Attack Emote. This is limited to mountainous regions and Magical Ice Area Effects, but when the snow has blanketed Regalia during winter, this applies to the whole map for a 1-and-a-half-month period between November 15th and January 1st, but the bonus is halved to 1 instead of 2.
