Backstory/Plothooks

The blazing sun hung high in the sky on a gentle March afternoon, casting its warm glow over the quiet streets of Licatta. It was a day like any other, yet everything was about to change. In the heart of the town, a new Salvatore was born—ushering in not only the promise of new life but the beginning of a legacy that would ripple through generations to come. The air was thick with the scent of spring, as though the earth itself had sensed the significance of this moment, and even the wind seemed to pause in reverence. It was a birth that would echo in the whispers of the town for years, as the story of this Salvatore would weave itself into the very fabric of Licatta's history.

Ciro was raised on the steadfast values of his House, instilled in him from a young age: honor your family, protect those who fall under the Salvatore banner, and above all, never betray your friends. Yet, from the very beginning, Ciro proved to be a defiant soul, one who would rather challenge these teachings than follow them. It wasn't long before he earned a reputation for tormenting his cousins and siblings, pushing them to their breaking points with relentless bullying and humorous cruelty.

As he grew older, Ciro embraced the rugged Montanian tradition of boxing, channeling his fiery spirit into the sport. He became a frequent participant in the impromptu matches that sparked throughout Licatta, where fists flew and pride was on the line. In the ring, Ciro found an outlet for his raw energy, though it was clear that his true nature—wild, rebellious, and unapologetic—was always just beneath the surface. Though, after a big win, Ciro was approached by his uncle to go secure the package for a new product they were going to throw into rotation, a lot rode on this considering this new narcotic was looked to be the new generation of drug, and that the package was to be secured from the port from the Zhou Triad. Whilst Ciro wasn't the smartest, he had brawn, and if the Triad meant to stiff them they knew Ciro wouldn't go down without a fight.

The day had finally come. The Salvatores and their allies, clad in their finest attire and heavily armed with swords and crossbows, made their way to the port to meet the Triad. Tension hung in the air as they settled in, awaiting the arrival of their counterparts. Soon enough, the Triad arrived, bringing with them several cases of the coveted narcotic. But just as the deal was about to be finalized, the Triad's boss, Oyabun Kenishi, issued a chilling order: all Salvatores were to surrender their weapons. The moment the word was given, chaos erupted. What began as shouting quickly escalated into violence, and in an instant, the port was soaked in blood.

Ciro, standing closest to the Triad's soldiers, was one of the first to be struck down. He collapsed into a pool of his own blood, certain he was dead. In those final moments, as the cold grip of death loomed over him, something within stirred. His vision darkened, and everything went black.

When Ciro awoke days later, he found himself alone in a cave along the Licatta coast, his body stripped of its clothing and covered in dirt, blood, and grime. Disoriented but alive, he staggered back to the Salvatore Keep, his mind clouded and his body broken. He sat before the Padrino, recounting the events—how the Triad had betrayed them, how the deal had turned into an ambush. But as the days passed, rumors began to swirl. Whispers spread that Ciro had not been a victim of betrayal, but a willing accomplice. Some claimed he had plotted to seize the Padrino's seat by aligning himself with the Triad, betraying his own family and slaughtering those who stood in his way. The most damning piece of evidence? No bodies of the Sihai were ever found.

Despite the absence of clear evidence, the damage was done. House Salvatore decreed that Ciro would be exiled to Daenshore, severing all ties with the family. He was to live the rest of his days in isolation, far from the influence of his bloodline. Yet, there was an unspoken understanding: if the day ever came when Ciro could be of use to them, they would find him. Until then, he was left to navigate the world on his own, carrying the weight of betrayal and the scars of a legacy he could no longer claim.

During his years of exile, Ciro kept only one connection to his past—a bond with Dante, a brother to him. Though isolated from the family, Ciro fought to survive, returning to the ring and earning his living through brutal bouts. It was during this time that the notorious Vulture Syndicate took notice of him, offering him a position as a footsoldier. Eager for a new purpose, Ciro trained under their ruthless tutelage, honing his skills with a sword and, despite his naturally brash demeanor, learning the delicate art of stealth. For years, he lived the life of a Talon of the Vulture—loyal to the Syndicate, driven by their dark goals.

However, everything changed when Dante was chosen to become the next Padrino. The Salvatores, after years of investigation and the fading of the rumors that had haunted Ciro, sent word summoning him back. They extended an olive branch, offering him a return to the fold. The Vultures, aware of the significance of this moment, encouraged Ciro to make his way to Regalia, to meet with his family once again. There, they promised, he would be given missions within the city, though caution was urged—he was to tread lightly and avoid arousing suspicion among the Salvatores.

Now, Ciro stands at a crossroads, torn between the life he's built with the Vultures and the family he left behind. The pull of his past beckons, but the future remains uncertain. Time will tell if he can reconcile his loyalty to his old family with the lessons learned from his new life, and whether he will ever find the true meaning of family—perhaps in places he never thought to look.
