For this writing, I must remain under a pseudonym. I, as of returning to Regalia, have noticed a sudden surge in organised crime. This, and the petty poems made by those who say they have a cause, have made Regalia increasingly dangerous.
How are we, the people, meant to defend ourselves against people like the Taliko Beggars? Whose gang wars with the Creed Thumpers continue to take place in our city. The pure fear that they instil into the people through their violence should not be tolerated and I call on those who protect us to be harsher on them. The Jarsdel Pub was recently shut down, and that is all I have heard about these people being stopped! These gangs may have corrupted our protectors, putting them on their payroll and turning a blind eye to their crimes.
I have written on the issues that plague us before and I will do so again and again if need be, because these things that happen must stop as soon as possible. Organised crime is dangerous to all involved. I have learned that after the Jarsdel family have taken over the Slums they have been watched closely. Watched Closely isn't good enough! It does not make us anymore safer! You have proof through written descriptions of their battles, which have been written by their own enemies! Their violence has been recorded, and yet nothing is done. No arrests as far as I am aware, but I am told the investigation is ongoing. So, after indisputable proof, why no arrests?
I mentioned that the pub owned by the Jarsdel's was shut down temporarily, but why? Because a corpse was found there! From this we can speculate a few things.
Was this a gang setup? Did the Beggars send a body there to frame them?
Or was someone just lazy?
Who knows? All we do know is that this war puts everyone in danger if caught in the crosshairs and arrests must be made as soon as possible! These gangs are starting to gain territory, such as the Creed Thumpers have gained power over the slum's. So, what are we to do if they take over our stores? Invade our homes? We cannot simply surrender to them because of their violence! We must not show fear in the face of death, or violence. These men are just humans. They are not beasts, they are men who's power lies in numbers. One man may do damage, but they are their own downfall. If they are identifiable by their signature haircuts, or something of the sort, then the victim of a beating can identify them in a broad term. By using violence, they hurt themselves in the process. Of course this culture of 'Snitches Get Stitches' holds great sovereignty in gangs and one can not identify them without being beaten again, or even killed. This shows their intimidation tactics, and therefore shows that they know they will get caught if identified.
All I've just explained can happen if we do not stop them. I do not say they have done so because I simply do not know what they have done, but I know what they are capable of doing and achieving.
I have to sign off with a pseudonym for my own safety, because if I share who I am I may be beaten or killed...Or, I may be left alone. Who knows? I am not taking risks though.
