A reflection on victory.
On the siege upon the Bastion
Balthazar IV - January 23 306 AC
Most revered Servant of the servants of the Spirit. Our beloved sons, brother and our beloved daughters both present and future, health and apostolic benediction.
Upon the mountain of the Unionist faith: The Holy city of Regalia, wherein the sincere devotion of the faithful of the Empire has thoroughly reclaimed the Bastion in our city. Among all the distressing difficulties, we are refreshed by the truly heroic display of bravery and constancy of spirit which the Regalian forces have shown before the Emperor and the Spirit. Enduring through foul magick and unworldly forces, preferring extreme danger to their own lives rather than to give up on their task to safeguard the holy Gauntlet which they desired to preserve forever incorrupt and intact.
It is by the bravado and heroism shown that the Lord Commander Edmond Du Pont has been rescued from the wretched conditions he was tortured and jailed, steadfast in his loyalty to the Emperor. Among heroes that stood out are
Jared Kade who lead the bulk of the forced against the cultists, it is by his charisma and leadership that no casualties have befallen the Regalian forces.
Vulmar Ravenstad and Hengest Harhold, who have both subdued the warlock in the castle and secured Edmond Du Pont in a storm of chaos and in danger of their own life, fighting through cultist and beasts alike.
And finally, Rudolph von Rohr, a Guardsman who during the fighter held his ground defending his fallen officer against unfavourable odds.
It is to the regret of the Sancella that so many other heroes were lost in the mayhem, and have not been observed with the recognition they deserved. We commend the efforts by which men struck with gentle hand, ensuring no innocent slain, and no wicked made a Martyr.
Finally, we beseech you, the faithful, by the Spirit's mercy. Assist us by your prayers to that the Imperial Spirit may abide in us and that your decisions may not falter. May the Spirit who has given you the desire for agreement grant the blessing of peace to us all. Our life is to serve the Spirit, whom we hold in reverence and pray to with confidence. In this we impart wholeheartedly, our most pious blessings.
