For those unaware,
It seems my House's event ended with a kidnapping instead of celebration. A Corsair has chosen to overstep themself and kidnapped the Vassal Baron and Duke of House Morathes. It is likely only by Juvin's intervention, by inspiring me to choose finishing celerial work instead of attending this event which saved me from a similar fate. Piracy is almost expected in the South Rivel but there can be no kharma gained from abducting nobles who've done nothing but protect and serve their people.
It is often a preference of the Asha to deal with matters regarding our people within our community, but on this occasion the action presents a possibility to threaten fellow peers. For if this Corsair succeeds in this ransom it will signal to every other Corsair and pirate from the Rivel to Silverwind that Peers can be take without retaliation. I know many families can imagine why Corsairs might desire to target them next.
The Duke Morathes is my family, I will comply with the ransom of course though the requested ship will need a crew. Of course, whose to say what people would be crewing a civilian ship or even what they'd be capable of. In light of this we shall happily be taking any mercenary, noble, knightly, or freely volunteering souls desiring to join this crew and be rewarded.
After all the ransom will require "guards" to escort it to the exchange. And of course the guards will ensure the retrieval of House Morathes' members.
