Civics Minister of Regalia

On the state of the Civics Ministry:
I am exceptionally pleased, my fellow citizens of the Jewel City, to state that I believe the Civics Ministry is rife for an era of perfect function. Since its inception over one year ago, I have tirelessly sought what would be our ideal form; the functions, practices, and core of this ministry. And now that it seems a calm has settled and our state government is in a new iteration of its own, I find it prudent to submit this missive as an explanation of the ministry, and why your support is more crucial now than ever before.
Each week, the Civics Ministry spends approximately fifty-thousand regals for the functioning of soup kitchens, orphanages, and various social welfare programs. This number, naturally, is subject to change, as new needs arise for regular care of our citizenry. But, it can only grow, so long as support for our initiatives grows in tandem. That is to say, that the blessed coffers of the esteemed peerage will take responsibility for the suffering of the less fortunate, nay, even the common rights assured to each citizen of common blood, for security, dignity, and safety.
As such, I will soon be implementing a recurring monthly system of rewards for those patrons of the Civics ministry who donate with frequency. For a minimum of ten thousand regals, any noble house will be notated as a Patron, and a friend to the common man. Not only will their coin be put to excellent use, but we shall also use this opportunity to establish a bond between the high peerage, and the esteemed artisans of our fair city. For each month, an artisan will be contracted to create an exclusive, limited edition trophy of gratitude. This may be so flexible as a limited-run production of perfume, or a unique piece of blown glass, or even iconic jewelry which will serve as a personal reminder and show of your commitment to to goodly works of this ministry. Furthermore, choice artisans will have a chance to see their wears displayed in a manner most public and favorable to the peerage, who may seek them for further business. (Patron Society Thread)
Separately from the Patron donations, an increased frequency of Fundraising events will no doubt occur. While I am merely a minister, and cannot force generosity into the hearts of my peers, I do hope that they will share in the joy of these events by participating with their coin. If not for the pure joy of charity, then perhaps for the good sport of contests, auctions, or other such recreation. And, upon that note:
Upcoming fundraising events:
An Alchemy Competition
A Golem Fighting Tournament
Each of these events promises to no doubt be a spectacle, as well as a display of Regalian ingenuity and skill in the alchemical and engineering arts. Furthermore, I hope my fellow peerage will join me in enjoying the bragging rights of the winners of these contests. While fundraising events are costly, the true reality is that the fun is only a secondary concern. In truth, we face a humanitarian crisis- the refugee influx from Carrhen.
We as an Empire ought to lend our hands out to these refugees, to the families fleeing conflict and violence. We must act swiftly, not only to support the good noble houses who bear the brunt of this financial expense, but in the spirit of love and respect for the lives of all who turn to this Empire for the promise of safety. It is for their sakes, that I implore all noble families to engage with Civics fundraisers, no matter how frequent- because the costs will not delay, even if our purses remain clutched.
On other Civics matters:
As a reminder, we plan to continue with the Cultural Expo and Gala on April 29th, open to all commoners and nobility alike, who wish to engage with an evening of high class appreciation for the varied cultures and history of this Empire. All noble families should submit at least one display, with families who have deep roots in multiple cultures to consider offering multiple. We eagerly await an evening of education and respect for our diversity, under the banner of one Empire, one Emperor, and a shared good will to the people with whom we share His love.
OOC Note:
There's a LOT of Civics activity this month and planned for coming weeks! I thought it'd be helpful to show what we're up to and why there's a sudden push, as well as collecting all our links in a single place.

To note, there is no legal ic obligation to donate to the Civics, and I don't want to give anyone the impression that it's required. HOWEVER it is absolutely Sivrid's job to squeeze coin from the houses, and she will try to call out those who do and do not donate. So beware!
My hope is that the fun of the wacky events we host will make up for bleeding coffers, and that the bragging rights and potential to win cash prizes will make up for it. Consider it like legal betting! Could you donate one coin and turn it into five? We won't know unless enough people participate, so hope to see you there!
The second use of Civics events, naturally is to be equally fun for nobility and common rp, and to let groups who may otherwise not interact or be on the same side be able to mingle. I'll keep trying to host events that let people show off their skills and whatnot ic, so stay tuned! And join our discord for updates on future events!
