The stone hearth in the decorated Songaskian home erupted, sending a burst of light through the room. The giggling of a little girl echoed through the area as the flames cast her shadow dancing across the ceiling. A silhouetted head of hair projected against the walls before the three year olds head shook in laughter along with a few soft thumps against the ground as the flames erupted again. Fathiyaa had awoke in the night, sneaking out of her room to the hearth once again. For the second night this week the little white haired girl was seated in front of the night fire toying with the flames, her hair flickering between snow white and a dancing fire.

Fathiyaa like the other Songaskians of the world, was born with the world flow abilities, similar to that of the dragons that gave life to her people. The simple ability to make the fire to ignite caused the little small child to lose her mind. When she’d first discovered this power, her mother was preparing a pot of kaffee for the family. Nasheera had started a small fire in the cookstove and instead of waiting for the fire to grow on it’s own, she simply lifted her hand. Her hair shifted from it’s usual snow white to a dancing orange flame falling down her back and the fire in the cook stove erupted.
With her hair still ablaze, Nasheera turned toward her little girl, Fathyaa had the biggest smile on her tiny face and her eyes were as wide as her mother had ever seen. From that moment forthe when Fathiyaa saw her mother's hair shift she knew she was different. Even at her tender age she knew something about her family made them different from the Ailor. She knew her family, with their snow white hair, dark skin and dragonoic features were different.
