A Indeterminate Future Of Massivecraft Lore

I haven't interpreted anything @Cpt_Manta_Ray has said as flame. I apologize if anything I said sounded heated. That wasn't at all my intention.
No, neither of you have, I just suggest maybe moving away from the topic of Thylan and Torrp getting removed to avoid being locked or this actually turning into an argument.

ok back to the original reason for the thread(which has been answered to some extent). Should we fear that the race that our character is is going to be deleted and should we use pages that haven't had an update in x amount of months and veer away from them?

In my opinion; no. Most races have a decent enough player base that they won't be removed. Out of the three races you originally listed, two of them were frequently played- Maiar and Rashaq are everywhere. I doubt that staff would remove a race unless very few people played it and rewriting the lore seemed like a waste of time. There are also races that were used to powergame and ended removed for that reason (the bird race, dunno their name), but there doesn't seem to be much of a problem with any races at the moment. Even wulong are represented, and Naylar, while few in number, have impacted the roleplay scene enough not to warrant a rewrite.

I can mainly agree with this statement, though how do we know which lore is soon to be rewritten as putting work into a character just to have the lore behind it rewritten. Like, at the bottom it says when the last update was done, I think we should have like a "don't swim for 30 minutes after eating" rule but more like "don't use lore that hasn't been updated in x amount of months"

I don't think there should be a rule like "don't play lore that hasn't been changed for x months". Rather, I think people should check the rewrite list. With the vampirism changes and magic rewrites, along with some other announced lore projects, I would say staff have their hands full at the moment and it's less likely that a rewrite will come along quickly and suddenly.

can I get a link for this and I think this thread can be concluded? @hetalianpasta

I am going to say no as well. Even if very few people play certain races, as long as at least one of those characters is well known, I feel like they act as the spokesperson for that race. As long as people know that race is played, and it's played well, I am willing to bet that the staff won't consider removing it. Because after all, these races are supposed to be rare, not poorly played.

See everyone? Not all discussions end in a flame war!

(I swear to God that I am joking. I guess you can say that I'm just....Kidding Around)

Hur!

Hur!

Hur!

Screw Y'all, I think I'm funny! XD

No. The pages in question had very specific circumstances, but as of now no race page is really 'out of date' except for yanar, being as there are no specific seedlings for some of the newer Elven races (which will be resolved eventually). At least, to my knowledge.

I mean, you probably can make a more cannine-like tigran if you lost your thylan char.

Actually, the lore rewrites and changes are pretty standard. When I first joined, Dakkar were called Agni, Maiar were water spirits, and there was no such thing as Ailor, just Human.

I actually really liked the agni and I have done a bit of reading on them. I tried writing a lore page on them but ehh

i have never met a thylan or a mekket. i've met like 3 tigran. i've met like 2 dakar not including my own though i have heard there are more. i've met like 3 Ur not including my own but those Ur are all pretty well-known and important. i've met one maiar.

my point - beast races aren't anywhere near as common OOC as Ailor/Nelfin/Chein-Ji/Qadir, and that makes perfect sense to me because they're not as common IC in Regalia.

Thylan were outdated and uncommon, they died, i have never seen another Dwarf-Yanar, Yanar are out of date...
OH NOES!

I prefer to play unpopular races and interbreeds because I like to be different(I don't know what's wrong with me)

This literally summarized the thread. You didn't pick the concepts because of their deep relation with another race, or their intricate backstory. Just because. Nobody else wanted to play it. Old concepts are dumb, but only played because people want to be special snowflakes. Our server dislikes special snowflakes and as such takes actions against it.
