Aleck walked silently about the Pillars of Blessings, tracing his left hand loosely across the stonework as he admired each and every one. He noted the small pieces of paper within the orifices of the pillars, smiling somewhat as he recalled the stories of the wishes and deeds the Emperor Theomar once performed for his faithful citizens. His gaze dragged upwards as a Sermon of Unionism closed to an end and he uttered a small, faithful chant at the end of a communal prayer. Within moments, he stepped aside for the floods of citizens leaving the sermon and once the path was clear, he made his way towards the altar where he was met by an elderly man in priestly robes.
He dipped his head to the reverend, even bowing. "Father Howlester, thank you for attending." They made small-talk, the two of them speaking of their homes in Gallovia and of how different life was outwith the Highlands. Eventually however, they stopped their chatter and moved onto more pressing matters. Aleck took a knee before the man, lowering his gaze to the ground afront him as the reverend started reciting a special blessing.
In the meantime, a young, pretty Daendroque Woman arrived outside with her family. They talked for a while, speaking of their excitement and giving congratulations to the young woman. Finally, the bells tolled and indoors the blessing had been concluded. Aleck rose and stood to the right of the priest. Those in attendance that moment rose, however sparse or dense the crowds may have been. Slowly, the bride's family made their way in, the more distant relatives entering first and taking their seats before the woman was brought into the Cathedral by her father, their arms linked.
Once her father had brought her to the altar and found his seat the couple were instructed to kneel, following along as laurel virgin olive branches were placed upon their heads. They then rose and the ceremony began. Loudly, he called out over the crowds and recited the Sacrament of Harmony word for word. His reciting of the creeds was flawless and with each recital another symbol of an eye of holy water was drawn unto both of their foreheads to imprint the creeds unto their souls.
He started then emptying his flask of holy water into the font, once again reciting more from the Sacrament and once the flask had been emptied, after a few moments had passed he called out. "Now as the two bodies of water, once separated have re-united, so shall this Union now be seen as one by the Sancella and State. We declare Alexander Dunmore and Luzia Ortellani married by the State and all." He took a breather, a very short pause and continued. "The couple may now mark their Union with a final seal in the fom of locking lips, much as I, Reverend Aethelred Howlester, Reverend of Unionist Divine seal this marriage before the Imperial Spirit!" The reverend then offered a light smile and softened his tone. "You may now kiss the bride."
The pair shared in a moderately long kiss, parting lips after a few short moments and finally the reverend called out over the crowd that they may now congratulate the couple as he took a few steps back and allowed the couple to go about speaking with those who attended the ceremony.
