FROM THE OFFICES OF THE AGGREGATES LABOR UNION
A DECLARATION OF PRINCIPALS AND STANDARDS
FORMING THE GENERAL CONSTITUTION OF THE
AGGREGATES UNION CONTRACTING COMPANY
AUGUST 2nd, 307AC
Preamble:
What began as a refuge for farmers and laborers, kings and nobles, for soldiers and protectors, sons and daughters, mothers and wives LIVES in the spirit of this great city we call Regalia! Over three hundred years ago, a band of nobles and citizens banded together under one banner, one dream: to labor and reap side by side and grow our empire for the common good and prosperity of all who work for our glorious future! It is in this spirit that we recognize that labor is the birthright of all Regalians, and vow to form a more perfect union for the mutual prosperity of all our people. We shall do what is hard, we shall achieve what is great and hand in hand, we shall build a better future together.
Article I. Focus & Mission
It shall be the mission and intent of The Aggregates Union to provide the working people of Regalia with a variety of services for the general welfare and prosperity of all. The Union shall be endowed with the power to mobilize and utilize its businesses and subcontractors for joint projects within their scope and skill, as well as delegating and ensuring a steady flow of business to its subcontractors for their general welfare. This shall include:
-The use of hiring several organizations subcontracted to take on specific tasks to a project within their scope and skill
-Delegating and managing carpenter & mason services for district repairs and improvements
-Delegating and managing tool-smiths, armorers, and metallurgists for state-approved services
-Providing a trade market for artisan services by subcontractors and Aggregate Union laborers
-Being middlemen for mercenary sole-proprietorships to provide smaller private mercenaries work
Furthermore, every member of the Union shall be allowed to conduct their business free from interference or coercion without and within. The Union shall respect and value the autonomy of Regalia's laborers and businesses.
Article II. Fair Membership Standards
Under no circumstance shall any citizen of Regalia be denied or prohibited membership to the Aggregates Union on account of race, sex, or religion. Furthermore, no member or business shall have their membership privileges barred, reduced, or denied on account of the aforementioned reasons. It thus stands that each and every member of the Union shall be afforded the same rights, considerations, and privileges of membership.
Additionally, the grant of special treatment and/or special privileges to any Union member on account of their race, social standing, or personal wealth shall be strictly prohibited. Anyone found having provided such treatment to any member or members of the Union shall face intense discipline including but not limited to heavy fines, suspension, and in the case of repeated offenses, the total revocation of Union membership
Article III. Fair Labor Standards
All members of the Aggregates Labor Union shall be entitled to fair wages, safe working conditions, and fair treatment by their employers and the contractors they work under. Thus in the interest of its mission, any business applying for membership to the Union must follow fair labor practices, including pensioning, time off, livable wages, and the right to terminate employment. Additionally, a business applying for membership cannot be found to be employing unreasonably dangerous working conditions and must be responsible for the continued maintenance of work tools and safety equipment,
Thus, any business applying for union membership must meet the above standards to be granted membership. Furthermore, any existing member found employing unsafe worker practices, dangerous or unsafe working conditions, or abuse treatment shall be immediately stripped of said membership, and shall be unceremoniously and publicly ejected from the ranks of the Aggregates Workers Union. Should said business improve their work practices to meet labor standards, they shall be allowed to re-apply for Union Membership after a due period of three months.
