The Holy Divine Inquisition was formed by order of Lord Chancellor Delmotte on the 9th April 308AC. Established from a coalition of devout and mainly Holy Divine Church Unionists including The Kreiguard Company: an esteemed mercenary band, The Marienritters: a devout order of knights under the service of The Holy Divine Church, The Regalian Arcane Collective: a purist movement of scholars and remnants from the old Crimson Inquisition. The Inquisition serves to safeguard the tenants of Unionism, feeling it had been diluted in the recent years among Regalian Society, they now stand a devout and coherent force dedicated to upholding the doctrines of Unionism within the Holy City and serving as an army for the Holy Divine Church.
Due to it's unique formation as a coalition of four main groups the Inquisition follows a more federalised command structure, with three High Inquisitors from each main group selecting a Grand Inquisitor to oversee and command the Inquisition as a whole. The Order's first Grand Inquisitor being Wolfgang Kreiburg, previous Kommandant of The Kreiguard Company whom was selected unanimously by the First Divine Commission; the upper command cabinet of the Inquisition first chaired by Hochmeister Wilheim of the Marienritter, Alexis Morgan of the Regalian Arcane Collective, Titus Cretch of the old Crimson Inquisition followed by Alaric Keen of The Kreiguard Company.
The Inquisition now stands firm to enforce the grand laws of Regalia across the Holy City while ensuring the good doctrine of Unionism is realised upon all who call it home.

The rights entrusted to The Holy Divine Inquisition are given in trust that they will be used to safeguard the populace of the Holy City from crime and to act as the Holy Protectors of the city; these laws enable them to do so effectively. Atop of general Guard Charter rights the Inquisition also gains access to a number of specific rights exclusively to uphold the role of Religious Protectors.

Due to the nature of the coalition-based formation of The Holy Divine Inquisition the order is divided into three sub-groups, similar in fashion to a boarding school's housing system. Each of these three divisions is headed by High Inquisitor of whom assigns one captain from their own rank roster. Under these captains lies the traditional rank-and-file inquisitors, with highlighted ranks like drill instructors, field surgeons assigned as the need arises. Under the typical rank-and-file lies the recruits, recently joined individual who are yet to show themselves worthy of the title of inquisitor. Above all of these ranks lies the Grand Inquisitor, a rank which oversees all aspects of the Inquisition and is selected by unanimous vote among the High Inquisitors.
The head of The Holy Divine Inquisition in all regards, responsible for overseeing the distribution of responsibility among the order and representing it politically. They have full power to recruit, demote and punish members of the Inquisition whenever appropriate.

The second highest authorities in the Inquisition, these Inquisitors can command any of the rank and file regardless of division. They are responsible for the care and overseeing as well as punishments of their own specific division and report outstanding incidents to the Grand Inquisitor.

An honorable rank given to those with outstanding leadership capabilities. These inquisitors are next in line to overtake their respective High Inquisitor's position. The command troops in the field regardless of division and are called upon in the Divine Commission for their on the field experience and tactical prowess.
Ⅳ - Inquisitor - Ⅳ
The rank-and-file of the Inquisition, these men and women have been entrusted with the rights to uphold Regalian Law and act as Protectors of the Faith. The serve as the front line against all who would do harm to the Holy City or Unionism.
Ⅳ - Recruit - Ⅳ
The lowest rank in the Inquisition, these men and women are new enlistees who have yet to prove themselves to take to the streets in enforcing Regalian law.

This institution represents the Officers' Cabinet of The Holy Divine Inquisition, acting as both an advisory council to the Grand Inquisition and as a strategic and reports bureau. It sees votes take place, reports inspected, internal and external policy planned among other responsibilities. The current chairs of the Divine Commission include the Grand Inquisitor, High Inquisitors and other designated individuals such as Officers of particular renown, The Grand Arcanist and Head Surgeon. Similarly Julius Peirgarten sits on the Divine Commission as Pontiff of the Holy Divine Church, for which the Inquisition serves as the church's army.

Another outcome of the nature of the coalition founding of the Inquisition, the Grand Arcanist oversees all other Arcanists within the Order, of who fill out other ranks within the Inquisition. These Arcanists are responsible for research and theory on behalf of the Inquisition, gaining sole responsibilities to conduct tests and research which prove useful to the Inquisition.

The official rank for the leader of The Holy Divine Church among the Divine Commission, this position is an advisory body to the Commission and Grand Inquisitor himself, offering insight on religious knowledge, investigatory strategy and political advice due to the occupant of said position often garnering long political careers.

The Holy Divine Inquisition does not strive for fame nor glory, it's members should not expect fame or fortune but should serve in knowledge that they are at the forefront of the defense of Unionism and all it's values. Because of this all recruits are expected to swear oath to be a Unionist with the order strictly forbidding all other faiths within it's ranks. Those who serve are expected to be hardworking and proactive in their service with extreme competence and leadership skills expected to some degree at all levels. Should there be doubt of your faith, or exceptional demonstration of incompetence the Inquisition will not delay in executing punishments ranging in scale and severity. All must be prepared to lay down their lives should they need to for the Holy Divine Church.
