    Life Story
Kara, Daughter of Fendric, was the firstborn child of her family, a wealthy noble family living in The Cains of the Free Jarls close to the northern coast. Most of her education came in the form of homemaking skills under the tutelage of her mother. Despite this, throughout her childhood, she took after her father in being headstrong and stubborn, which led to many family quarrels as she grew and matured.

At 19, Kara was arranged to be married off to create ties between her family and the head of a band of mercenaries. Yet, rumors surrounded her soon-to-be husband; he was abusive and had killed his previous betrothed on their wedding night in a fit of rage. Fearing for her life and furious with her family, she stole her family’s Knarr ship with plans to flee south to Hvitskag and, later, Nordeskag to seek out her self-assured fate. Yet, this plan would not come to fruition as a storm blew her north and stranded her in southern Jorrhildr.

One week later, Kara would be found by Urlan of the shore-roaming Whiteland Throngs emaciated and slowly burning chunks of her boat while the rest acted as a roof. Yet, despite her hunger, she still rose to defend herself on shaky legs and could barely hold her axe. Thoroughly impressed by the woman, they fell on her and hauled her over their shoulder to their encampment in a nearby Seraph ruin. Although she was offered willing symbiosis, Kara’s headstrong personality led her to try to resist. The Oorl worm would bury through her torso after a day of being locked in a cage with her creator, Jökull, sitting silently nearby.

It took months for Kara to come to terms with her new identity and, eventually, begin her years-long feud with Jökull. Left with no connections to her home, Kara was dead, and Ýja was born from the body. Feeling violated, she set upon Jökull, and the two would fight for many years until Frederick and Raymond Kade arrived at the front of a Regalian war host. After her war chief was humbled, Thong was sent to Elladaor. Even though it took years to settle into her new home fully, she still pursued Jökull and, at the age of 33, killed him in a fierce duel. Yet, his death did not bring her happiness.

Although Ýja remained with her Throng, she became increasingly despondent and mournful of her years of burning hatred for someone she had mixed feelings about. Her rage turned to silence. In boredom and seeking distraction, she threw herself into hunting to fill the gap left in her psyche, hunting animals, fame, and lovers. Yet, none of these activities succeeded in fulfilling her restless mind.

Ýja left for Regalia seeking a newfound purpose…
