I had an idea! Scary I know... better name pending, the idea is called the Essalonia Collective. It would be a group of allied or truced factions that work to build & maintain infrastructure across Essalonia like Roads, Tunnels, Bridges, and the signposts telling people where the next faction is located and what one can expect to find there. The group could also designate different locations for specific types of gameplay - perhaps build & maintain a handful of sites for PvPers to battle each other in an immersive and interesting environment, locations for large scale trade, and sites for extensive roleplay outside of Regalia.

At the very least we'd need some sort of inter-faction cooperation to set up a roadway network between friendly factions across the upcoming map post-reset and post-massiverestore.

What are your thoughts on such an organization/group?

I'd definitely be interested in sponsoring this anyways as part of my empire.
 
Elche would like to join this and come up with designs and schematics for a high speed subway system intended for inter factional player and material transportation.
 
i've tried talking to marty about putting in a gravel path like ithania (but updated with new blocks). Idk if he's gonna do it or not but i just wanted you to know i gave him my opinion on it.

Don't! Let the players make the paths. The only place where gravel paths should be is the spawn, since players can't make paths there so we can just extend them from said spawn.

I love this idea. I hope to help once my faction and I are settled in.
 
I was just thinking about this the other day lol. I would like to help as well! Perhaps we can even do a sewer underneath for fast water travel (perfect for the new swimming mechanic) and for vampire/slums role play. It can also encourage players to make hidden bases or a black market branching off from the sewers, too! Another idea is that we can have railway tubes connecting from a community auto-farm (or manual) to factions with hoppers waiting to receive the goods.
 
The only Flaw I see with it is, what if one of the friendly Factions become a Enemy right after you were done making a Road, bridge, etc. for them.

Then you can always deconstruct the road, or just not maintain it - resulting in grief over time destroying it anyway. Plus, this is mostly for people to travel & explore, I don't expect all the factions that participate to stay truced forever and the group would just be for organizing construction - ex, what materials, where the road/structures would be, and what faction is expected to maintain what parts of any given road.
 
Reminds me of the old Daendroc Restoration group. I'd be interested in joining and maintaining infrastructure or prettifying landscapes.
 
The thing I'm most excited for with the upcoming reset is the death of Massive restore and the return of roads, so count me IN

Celetil will be sure to make a great road leading from spawn to the Bervenian Empire's planned location as soon as we good visit-worthy builds set up.
 
i would love to be on a team of workers digging out the roads and filling them in we could even sing songs together
 
whoa are they gonna be deep like ithania roads? will they have minecart rails? lol im thinking about this now

Maybe, maybe not. That would be among the details discussed by the group - would we build underground roads ever? Grave, Sand, Stone, what are they made of? Stuff like that would be detailed, probably based on the environment it's in.
 
Fun idea, make small checkpoints that can be trade areas for either RP or actual faction trading kinda like a /tp salemslot but not breaking any rules.
 
Now that the new world has opened, are we going to wait until established towns are up before making the roads, or are we going to start making some? And when this happens, will the road construction be coordinated or whoever wants to build a road can build a road? Lastly, should we have a special banner or signpost signifying that "this specific road you see here" is owned/upkeeped by the Essalonia Collective?
 
I think everyone is going to want to get their towns up and secure before they begin working on road systems, roadwork should be coordinated to ensure everyone has access to resources and knows which roads are being focused on at any given time, and we can come up with a banner design if we want. Or maybe just use a sign lol
