• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Well long story short, the "flavor" signs that are so common in the sewers can't be used in Regalia because of lag they are causing.

For that reason, I suggest a new plugin, "MassiveFlavor" ... sorry I couldn't resist.

So the idea is really simple, to prevent a lot of work for the tech staff I propose to base it on MassiveLock. The idea is really straight forward, as you know you can lock blocks with the plugin above and use /visualize to show these locks.

The same mechanic can be used for MassiveFlavor, essentially it does the same things as MassiveLock, but instead of locking the block you can type in a description. Then players can use the /visualize command to show blocks where people added a description and for example right-click it to "read" it.

Well, I am no Rper so tell me what you think, additional notes below.

Additional Sugesstions:
  • Limit /visualize to a radius of 5 blocks around the player to prevent lag
  • Limit the ammount of Flavor's a person can create, to prevent "spamming"
  • Make a "Flavor" dissapear on breaking a block to reduce staff maintenance (No tickets needed to remove them)
  • Make it more intuitive to use, i.E. no groups of locks/ Flavor's like in MassiveLock
  • TBA

Or you know you could market it and make the city into warp regions.

While that would in theory solve the issue it also had some huge drawbacks, especially for players with bad internet. Not to mention setting up such regions and especially keeping everything up to date would be loads of work.

im a little late to this party... but you refer to the signs that say stuff like about the RP environment?

Yup, they're like the pop ups you used to get in the park, or still do in the greenhouse thing, just way better and easier to not accidentally spam your whole chat with.

This would be great for a lot of things. IE, someone gets stabbed. Add a flavor for a blood pool on the floor. Etc.

You could make it so flavors only last for 10 hours as well, so they fade with time. And make it so you can list your active flavors and edit or remove them from anywhere.

There should also be a max to prevent too many flavors at once. I'd say six or seven?
