With a body shape that can only be described as elegant, thin, and graceful her skin is a beach sand colour and her cheeks are often rosy in the colder months. Sheliu's bones are thin and flexy but very strong, her sculpted muscles are hidden well with her self-control and body training, appearing at most slim and toned, most of her already non-existent fat in her thighs which slim down, making a bit of a triangle proportion.
    • Sheliu typically wears Qipao and Yukata short or long she tends to turquoise and violet-blue, with jade, white, gold accents. Her current wear is a silk, white and violet-blue Yukata rimmed in golden long dragons, and a big one on the back. the detached sleeves come from the tip of her hands to mid-bicep and are mainly white with violet-blue and gold accents; some long turquoise dancing ribbons tailor her elbows, along with similarly silken above-knee socks that gradient from violet-blue to turquoise with gold accenting, turquoise clips and white frilled fringes at the top. She has many different shoes the ones with this particular outfit, her socks actually are pulled taught by them, which are flat violet-blue mary-janes with gold accents. upon her head is a dusty turquoise and jade headband with flowers for tassels.
    • Sheliu's voice is very...stentorian, with a bubbly yet trustworthy tone and an almost fixed speed of just a little fast. Sheliu's Dexai accent is quite strong, but she can speak pretty fluently in common, only not knowing random specific things, like "coat rack", or "architecture."

    Personality
    • Alignment
      • Neutral Good, Sheliu acts according to her heart, which she is confident in often, and will act accordingly. Altruistic and heroic to a fault if any stands in her way of care, or bringing others together, even standing up to bullies much bigger than her, they will meet her sword. Protect the ones you love, no matter what.
    • Personality Type
      • ENFJ-A; Protagonist. Sheliu is tolerant, reliable, altruistic and charismatic, The bubbly and intense Sihai often finds this to her faults as well, being too idealistic, selfless, and sensitive a lot of times.
    • Religion
      • 10/10 The Loong Faith - Sheliu was raised rather traditionally, her faith in the Loong Dragons carries throughout her ideals, personality and even her proficiencies. She believes they are good guides to those in need, and will gladly help others find peace with them as she has.
    Weaknesses
    • Has a shot hip, due to being run through once. It is a weak spot that if struck upon the ribs will cause her to double over, so often she protects it.
    • She's a bit paranoid, sometimes finding dots that actually connect and other times..not so much.
    • Afraid of cows. They're big and scary. like who isn't really.
    Personality
    • When anxious, or frightened, Sheliu tends to mutter under her breath about the events leading up, in a bit of a complaint. She'll rub her lips together when spacing out, and is prone to nail-biting when bored.
    • Sheliu is actually quite good at gardening, she loves peaceful tasks like these.
    • Sheliu is unknowingly a fighter of the lost Eastern blades sword art, which is represented in her dancing, and her fighting style.

    • Sheliu is good at making silken ribbons.
    • Sheliu is also ambidextrous
    Likes
    • Flowers, arranging them, smelling them, and plucking them to give them to a child. She feels they are her symbol.
    • Terrible Smut, Such as The Lusty Allarian Maid, Glasses, and Twenty Tints of Teal. Because it's hilarious.
    • Music, Although for a while Sheliu had no taste for it, as she learned with Wan-Xia, she could see just how peaceful and even meditative it can be.
    • Colourful clothing, from her families Jade and black to her usual Turquoise and Violet-blue Sheliu always keeps a range of colourful attire.
    Dislikes
    • Bullies, Assholes, and bitter people. Sheliu cannot stand it when someone has a problem with themself and takes it out on others, a lecture is in order. One for the better most of the time.
    • Kaffee. Sheliu much prefers the sweeter teas over the dead and rank taste of kaffee, plus it makes her too jittery, she's already off the walls, she doesn't need any help.
    • Confrontation, not from fear or anxiety, but from wanting to keep things running smoothly with no problems around her friends and various groups.
    Relationships
Wan-Xia; Was Her great uncle, who she looks up to as often as she can, and often seeks wisdom from him, even though their views vary in conflict.

Gen'ming; Sheliu and Gen'ming are naturally inseparable, Sheliu loves him to a fault and would help him with anything, and she knows he would too.

    Life Story

Sheliu was born in Beian along with her twin brother Gen'ming, to the couple Xianji-Fem; a versatile artist and circus performer, and Ki-Xia; an alchemist and hard study

From the moment Sheliu was a conscious ten-year-old she had shown to be quite a brave child, always protecting her brother from bullies.

Sheliu was also quite altruistic in her youth, always finding opportunities to help others in various ways, whether it be helping an elder cross a street, or helping the kids her mother trained while she was off with her father, who spiced his alchemy lessons with a bit of sorcery, which Sheliu took quite the liking too. Sheliu

Spoiler Optimistic, her stalwart personality shone through and through, only running into problems when she devoted too much of herself to too many people or being too sensitive when receiving criticism. As one could imagine Sheliu grew up close to her immediate family, Sheliu's brother was often off studying with their father, giving Sheliu more time with her mother who reinforced her ideals and personality, which showed in her unique arts. Stories from her father gave her wisdom, and when they practised alchemy and sparred, it reinforced the will she had with the strength to back it up. She was a kid who could walk the walk and walk the talk. spoiler

She'd grown into a knowledgeable and agile teen, who became a formidable young sorcerer; unbeknownst to her father. and confident in herself and her path as an aspiring alchemist, up to the point of the Emporers festival, where Htai travelled to their Ingdi and gave an inspiring annual speech, this particular one spoke of majesty and shedding hope everywhere one could and of sorrowful happenstance to be shed from; It was the speech of balance. This speech shifted her disposition to that of a view that she had, and heavily agreed with but wasn't quite aware of before, one such that of a protector's values.

Sheliu felt to be inadequate after the Emporer's speech, but at least she knew where she was going and who she was, which would help her grow. From then on her father told her the stories she asked for, and inspired her to be a protector, just as the Emporer was. This led her down a rabbit hole of sorcery and arcane knowledge, where she grew even fonder of magic. Her mother meanwhile continued to teach her the various uses of her arts and the meaning behind them, teaching her tolerance and giving her the predisposition to be a great leader. While her brother's mere presence reminded her of herself and reminded her she had something to believe in.

So Sheliu set out to prove herself worthy of this hope, defending the weak and those she held dear at every chance she got; spreading her ideology to those she helped, and those she defeated. She eventually established and become the leader of The T'fuha't Ku'en or Defenders guild, which she formed of people that decided to follow her ideals. Comprising of all kinds of Sihai, they had one goal; "To provide, protect, and aid all those who need it." Though Sheliu saw great potential in such an idea, the semi-peaceful lands of Dexai were not the right place for it.

There wasn't an obstacle that had gotten in her way by the time she was a young adult, but she still felt it inadequate. Going as far as to seek out the many spies said to be within the walls of various Ingdi. This would eventually lead to her being beaten and left for dead outside Somewhere outside of the places, Sheliu was devastated by this loss, and reminded of the hope she sought.

After this, Sheliu travelled to Collegiate d’Évraux a diplomacy school, seeking knowledge of the peoples of the world. She learned how to be diplomatic and understand different people. This proved to be an important step for her to eventually go back to her home, to see her parents, who were proud but worried. Sheliu's father did indeed give her hope, teaching her sorcery over the next few years. Her mother also began teaching her of other, less dangerous outlets that she could pursue. Such as the story of her great uncle Wan-Xia, who pursued music, despite it being so frowned upon in Zhong culture.

So Sheliu set out to find Wan-Xia, with each of her parents bestowing one of their swords to her-(?) along with a Jade necklace passed down from an ancestor before her journey. Upon meeting Wan-Xia, he would give her a Sheng, an instrument she practised with as much as she could, finding some meaning in the few pieces of music she learned. Sheliu realised that to be a protector as great as The Emperor, she would have to protect herself too in the process. And with the guidance of the Loong, she was sure she would achieve it, optimistic to a fault.

Sheliu aims to find her balance in Regalia, with plans of restarting her guild and aspirations to be the best version of herself. Most sane sihai

    Trivia

The names of Sheliu's Dao and Jian are D'ena'ra(Truth) and Kui'n(Ego) respectively.

Sheliu's Jade necklace was a parting gift from her parents and came from a dusty tote, of ancestors items.
Sheliu's name actually means "Strong-willed flower in the breeze". Because before she was a child, her mother had a thing for bouquets, must've been Sheliu all along.

Sheliu's favourite sword-dance- is called D'ra Fu'n'fen T'ieh'luc (The Flower Dance) and is more expressive with flowy lines, and graceful whips and twists, composed as if it were the choreography of a dancing flower.

Heads up. You cannot have any connections to actual royalty and nobility and whatnot without a special 'Canon Backstory' perm (which isn't terribly hard to get I hear, but still needs to be gotten), so this connection to the Emperor can't be canon. Additionally, Skysteel can only be gotten through the use of player-quests/noble-progs. You can't get it any other way (meaning, you can try to get it at some point in the future, but not via backstory).

@Katiesc I believe I've done it, sihai changes update, proficiency update. translated most of kit from before, which was apparently heavily magic based, so changed some dynamic to reflect as such. also switched dynasty

Katiesc isn't staff anymore. You need to change your app from "Needs Re-Review" to the "Needs Reviewer" and wait for someone to pick it up.
