Hello artists of MassiveCraft, my name is HydraLana. Over the years, we have had many talented artists come, go and stay on our server. Some have been staff members, others not, but many have sought to contribute to the Wiki. However, honestly, we haven't been fair. We have been disorganized and forgetful in our approval or disapproval of artwork. We have allowed artwork onto the Wiki that has been incorrect in their depiction of the subject while probably overlooking a few good pieces of correct artwork. This changes today.

This new thread is dedicated to responding to works of art players want to submit to the Wiki. In order to do so, they will need to follow the process outlined below but also be ready to sign the MassiveCraft Legal Agreement. This document, which can only be seen by Rank 3s and Direction Staff does ask for someone's real-life name, as it is legally binding. Any artist who wants to create for the Wiki should be aware of their need to sign this contract. If they are unwilling to do so, we will be unable to post their art on the Wiki. Now, onto the information and suggests for any artist.
  • Any prospective contributors to the Wiki should know that traditional work has a low chance of being accepted due to lighting, paper quality, etcetera. Digital art is preferred but ultimately, it comes down to the quality of the work we are presented with.
  • It should be noted that Flora and Fauna is sometimes a bit tricky to get right in terms of the author's vision or the descriptions given. As a result, we heavily suggest attempting to contact who wrote the article to ask for their vision or for what references they themselves used when creating the article they did.
  • Some articles already have art but it is occasionally bad and not up to current standards. Feel free to make art for articles that already have it bit whose quality is questionable/low.
  • There is something to be said for the subject matter you select, as we recommend drawing content from more recent articles whose descriptions and appearance are unlikely to change significantly in the coming months.
With that done, artist should take a look at the following checklist. You don't need to tick every box or panic if you feel you haven't, but you should try to fit the parameters of as many as you can.
  • Is your art a good example of your work and something you feel is fit to be on the Wiki?
  • Is your art digital? If it isn't, is the image or scan you've taken of it very good and isn't showing light issues?
  • Have you contacted the subject article's writer to get their opinion on your work or asked them to help?
  • Is the artwork usable in a Wiki context for others to view it? Is it a depiction of the subject matter suitable for all audiences?
With all of this done, I now leave it into the capable hands of you artists. Below there a list of what areas of the Wiki we are currently searching for art for as well as examples of each. These examples are both traditional and digital artworks in order to give artist an idea of what we are looking for. There is also a submission form at the end of this post for those who wish to submit art. Happy drawing everyone!

We enjoy the majority of this submission, however, the head of hair is a small issue. The "afro" nature of it doesn't really fit with the animal so producing more wild or stringy hair in the artwork would be preferable. Would you be able to modify this? If not, would you allow us to modify it using photoshop to produce the desired head of hair.

Here's an unedited version redone with messy hair. You have full permission to edit either of these copies to match your vision.

I'll be blunt, I immediately thought of Harry Styles. To avoid further confusion, when we mean wild hair we more refer to what sort of hair a wild man would have (so thick, mullet-like/rockstar style or stringy, less healthy hair). I am sorry but I must ask that you adjust the art again in the hair department. Below in the spoiler, you can see some examples of what we mean:

Hello again!
Sorry about the ogre submission. I'm sure I can find that piece again and start off where I left off another time.

Here, I have a rough draft for the Frosthorn, a troll-like creature with antlers living in the cold north. This is just a rough draft, and I would like to get it cleared before proceeding with the rest of the process. Thanks!

Apologies for the long time it took to reply:
Overall the art is good, but I should mention that this animal is more gorilla-ish, as the lore states "They have massive and thick forward facing arms that support their body along with smaller legs, overall creating a quadrupedal appearance despite the animal's capability to stand upright." Those rear legs are pretty meaty. I would also mention that its ears are very obvious when the lore states that "They also have a pair of large ears, though the hair that covers their heads almost completely obscure them."

"Emperors Pride" The seeds and the sap do not mean anything beyond normal poppy properties in seeds and its sap. I did include a bowl with nice scent symbols above it for the perfume properties. It's standard paper size at 600x600.

I gladly accept this! You'll be sent the contract soon and we'll get this up with the spiffy new article I was reminded to write for this plant.

Novorra's little artist <3 lol nice work tho, looks good

@HydraLana is there a specific art style that needs to be followed or can I use my own style as long as its realistic?

@HydraLana I have a question: would there be interest in example skins for each of the races/subraces? A way to show how the character could be portrayed skin-wise? I know some older wiki pages have these, like the deathlings. I know some of the subraces of certain races have descriptions that are somewhat hard to visualize in skin form, like Haat-Maraya and certain forms of Url. Would there also be interest in a showcase of how the race could look with MPM? I could stylize them as well. Thank you!

The current owner of the artifact suggested I apply to have my art of the Nenya'thea placed in the wiki. I hope it'll be up to par!

I know this isn't on the list, but none of the materials have images. Figured I would whip out some.
Unfortunately, these are rejected.

This has been accepted, and it will be added to the Wiki once the document is signed.

Some art of a Wyldwarped. I thought I'd submit it, since there isn't any Wyldwarped art on the wiki yet (despite the rather page not being on the list).
