I've been playing this server for a year know, I've seen a lot of things change, not really good changes were made in my opinion. For instance the repair command, it gets rid of the fact that in an actual medieval culture if something was damaged you would bring it to a smith and he will fix it up, because of this command it gets rid of that certain branch of economics and marketing. speaking of marketing the Pious near spawn that hands out Regals every 20 hrs that also destroys a part of Regalia's economic's, which pretty much is decreasing the value of a single regal with how many regals are traveling around from pocket to pocket by a mile thus making it more worthless. I very well know this is a roleplay server but a lot of changes were made that eliminates a system that we so call an in-game working community where every individual means something to the system and supports like Farmers, Smiths, Miners, Loggers, Merchants, Librarians, and much more. it pains me to see once a great economic and governmental system go away destroying one of my favorite things of this server that made feel like a medieval world but virtual.

Comment if you Agree or Disagree.

much like the heckin disestablishmentarianism (look dad i can use big words) separation of church and state, we have a separation of survival and role-play.

the role-players don't want to grind for stats in a darkroom or get murdered by swordsmen, and the survivalists don't want to play dress up in silly costumes. massive has made it so they don't gotta, simple as pie.

smart but I could see a community reliant on niches instead of
IMMA GO GRIND IN A DARKROOM FOR AN HOUR AND HOPE I GET SOMETHING WORTH MORE THAN 10R!!!
or
IMMA SPEND ALL OF MY TIME HARVESTING RESOURCES TO MAKE AN EXTRA 20r A DAY!
or
IMMA SAVE ALL OF MY MONEY SO I CAN ACTUALLY GET SOMETHING!

repair still costs a lot of regals to repair, so the MCMMO trait is still something that a player may want to spend time leveling.

There's something in the works. It's a temporary fix from the removal of voting rewards to comply with EULA. And looking at recent trends, less people are using the quest that when it was first implemented, which means less money is actually flowing in.

That system is still very much in place. Of course, specializing in one specific item probably will end up being a failure, as there are those who could produce exactly the same amount of stuff as well as other things. All about playing the market, and knowing how to compete with the well established players. There's a reason why people choose to visit a specific large shop compared to others.

I disagree with the notion that these changes were made for worse. If they were, why were they added to begin with? Every single one of these changes was made to help players out.
-The repair command was done so players could get a quick fix and then go back to doing their thing. However, in exchange for this quick service they pay a lot of regals, compared to the guy who can just use the anvil or grind MCMMO.
-Pious John was done so that players (safe to say more geared to RPers cuz they don't raid) could maintain the upkeep of their Regalian rental regions without having to go to survival and do things they don't want to do. However, this is a temporary fix and will be removed when the Job Island is implemented.

a community reliant on niches would almost always guarantee that a player either

a) have their own special set of skills

b) be forced to develop a set of skills (or work a specific job)

the first is already in-place and exists, whereas the second is pretty much just downright oppressive (and v depressing_

yeah well... lets look at a good ecomony...... BLURRS+

the stock market is very pheasible on the server, it was proven you can make money without leaving the market area

I don't know my economics so lets use oh idk ireland?

So the people find a specialty... through years of training and their parents support
Maybe it should be a factions responsibility to get a player a good skill

People use these skills to make money and give it to other people for their skills. A huge skill circle

Firstly, Pious John was added as a temporary, I say again, TEMPORARY, replacement to Voting Rewards, because Mojang thought it was a good idea to ban Voting Rewards.
They are planning to replace that with repeatable quests.
As for the repair command, that sounds pretty overpowered. That should probably be restricted to staff ranks.

Thank you to all who responded with there agreements and disagreements, I'm looking forward of what the server is going to do next.
