Today we have a couple PvP arenas, this provides fun for the server's more bloodlust type of people. But they are being driven off from performing to there best abilities!
1. Players are scared to lose good items, and never get them back
2. Not enough space to perform at best in different situations
I suggest a new type of Arena, A war arena. Let me explain it to you.
1. There are 2 or more teams
2. the arena is based on a city with many interesting areas to fight around
3. Class kits, that have different perks and enchantments per kit (and weapons/armour)
The cons of this idea is that it takes alot of time, and space to build. And moderators may have to have help from in-game players during building the arena, second, we would have to have a new plug-in that allows us to have official teams without friendly fire. This could cause lag.
But the positives about this idea is that
1. Players wont be scared from losing items
2. Provides an RP side to PvP arena combat
3. Helps players play as a team and form strategies and eventually feel like a real siege.
The minimal amount of teams would be 2 (Offensive and Defensive), there could be different game types such as Conquest, (like Classic domination), Capture the flag, and Manslaughter (Deathmatch). There should be rewards for being on the winning team and how many kills/captures you contributed.
Some ideas for class are
1. Swordsmen
2. Archer
3. Demolition
4. Pyro
5. Hunter
6. Assassin
7. Beserker

I like most of the ideas - Even though it sounds a bit like TF2 with the classes and such - But this will cause laaag.
 
I know that you copied and pasted it, but don't use below size 3 font, ever.
 
Some comments(Sorry for the caps):
1. The "Oh I lost my items fighting at Remus" is fixed. Ever see those Ender Chests in the arenas? Here's a hint: Put your stuff in it before you leave. And if you are bringing swords and armor into the arena, be prepared to lose it. Treat it like any other PvP situation.
2. I agree with Zanip, this will be IMPOSSIBLE to sustain and code, even if we could get the basic CTF-based plugin and change it. Also, this is starting to sound a lot like TF2, and that just annoys me. (headbang)
3. Give me an example of how it makes fighting difficult in small spaces. I think all of the arenas are a reasonable size, even when there are 10 people in one. And that BARELY happens.
4. Where is the "RP side" to this project? You can do RP in Remus and Skytower, it doesn't matter where you are: As long as you have a group of friends and your imaginations, then you can RP anywhere you want.
5. Yes, I know this is starting to get really long, but let me make one last point: When you said how different players form as a team, develop strategies, and make it feel like a real siege, I was not thinking that. But here is my view: You can make any raid into a siege. And if this is specifically towards the PvP arena, gather a bunch of trusted allies and members and head off to an arena. You guys can team up and fight others, just like in a regular raid.
 
Hardy, I didn't copy and paste this at all! What makes you think I copied it this was my complete idea. And I havent tried TF2 before so I don't knwo what it is like.[DOUBLEPOST=1351900576][/DOUBLEPOST]Imboring I think you don't understand me. Some people like to use good weapons and armour without fearing to lose them.
 
Madeby, I don't think you understand the majority of the server. Most people don't care about losing items because either they don't bring any, or they are rich enough to not care about a diamond sword or two.
