A small, groggy groan came from her lips.
The doctor slowly opened her eyes, taking several blinks to get her eyes wider, and then the ringing set in. A loud ringing sounded off like strings of bells between her ears. Her vision was split. It took a moment or two for her mind to settle down, for the ringing to silence, and for her vision to become one again. She stood up in the bed- no... Cot? Yes, cot that she was laying down on. She scanned the surroundings for her glasses, and after a while found them on the table next to the cot. She reached down, picked them up, and gently placed them on her face. Her vision was focused on her surroundings, but she noticed something was wrong. She shifted her vision from the room to her glasses. "Fuck..." She murmered as she looked at the cracked lenses infront of her eyes. She returned her vision to the room around her. Recognising the layout, she came to the conclusion she was in the Greygate Clinic. She stepped forward, picking up her coat which was noticable stitched up by a friend, put it on, and slowly walked to the outside. The light at first overwhelmed her; she had to block the sun's light with her arm. After a couple of strong blinks, her eyes adjusted. She then walked to one of her friends' houses to try and get some answers on why she was at the clinic. However, just as she was passing underneath the gate, something unsual caught her ear.
A guard spoke in his stern voice to his partner next to him.
"So.. You get the Missus anything for Wintertide yet? It's only a couple days away.."
Last she remembered, it was only December 2nd.
"Wait.. What is the date?"
She hurridly asked the guard.
"Uhh.. It's December Twenty-Second.. why?"
The armored man replied.
Her eyes went wide.
20 days. She was out for twenty days.
"Thanks.." She replied, turning once more and heading out of greygate, looking for answers.
Lily Janssen had woken up.
