    Basic Information (Required)
    • Full Name: Virathus Krupp

    • Age: 43

    • Gender: Male

    • Race: Ailor

    • Main Ambition: To make his home of the Jutland a mighty waystation for the Empire’s great navy, and to give rise to respecting the often disregarded Opper Calem.

    • Special Permission: Expert of Battle Command
    Basic Information (Expansion)
    • Born of an old Anglian family that sought the opportunity in Opper Calem, Virathus is a proud man who yearns for recognition beyond the Jut.
      [*]

[*]Following a diplomatic marriage with a Drixaugh chieftan to prevent his support in an aborted raid, Virathus was born to Ambolgrod and Ronnet Krupp. Virathus struggles with the circumstances of the marriage, and his mother’s lineage deeply.

    • A part of the graduating class that saw figures such as his cousin Hamelin d’Vaud emerge, Virathus wishes to call upon the connections he has made to arrange some sort of position that he can use to reassert his family’s standing in the largely inclusive and Anglian Jutland nobility. A major sore spot in which he draws insecurity, he finds himself more motivated than daunted.
    Skill Information (Optional)
    • School: School of Leadership - Discipline of Battle Command

    • Level: Expert.

    • Source: Admiralty Academy, School of Seigwald
    Visual Information (Required)
    • Eye Color: Light Green

    • Hair Color: Auburn

    • Hair Style: Thick short curls

    • Skin Color: Olive

    • Clothing: Layered garments, as is more custom in the north. It is not uncommon to see him overdressed, sporting a tunic, woolen sweater and a jacket overtop of that. The legs of his pants are often tucked into his boots, and plates upon him whilst he travels in the Capital.

    • Height: 6’1

    • Body Build: Toned

    • Weapon of Choice: Light one handed battle axes, or short javelins
    Visual Information (Expansion)

    • Broad nosed, thick browed and with a wide jaw, Virathus often has a stern look upon his face when he is not being engaged. Thick lipped, his mouth is easy to see beneath his beard, often broadly smiling. Mindful of not looking unruly or tribal, he grooms his hair and beard to look presentable at all times. Contrasting his darker visage though, are his bright green eyes, lending a great deal of attention to the world around him. His resting gaze is usually slightly up and to the left, his neck seemingly permanently crooked from a childhood exchange.

    • Standing 6’1, weighing in at 187 pounds, Virathus’ demeanour reflects his martial background quite clearly. His posture is always proper, and movements swift and precise. He has thin hair on his chest and limbs.

    • Often dressed in some sort of uniform, the only liberty Virathus dares to take with it is to wear a tunic that is the colour of his house, or whatever permitted modifications he can make. Out of uniform, he is inclined to wear simple outfits, but will ask tailors to weave him simple designs every now and again. Seeing jewelry as the epitome of wasteful vanity, he carries precious metals only in coin. He is often resting his hand on his hilt (or axe head), as is customary of Warriors of the Jut.
      [*]

[*]Soft spoken and sporting a deeper voice, Virathus often speaks with an artificial shrillness to be better heard. Obsessive with his pronunciation, he will often relate things in similes or metaphors in casual conversation. In relating the truth though, he will often speak in the most Laconic way possible.
    Personality and Abilities (Required)
    • First Paragraph: A jovial and driven man, Virathus is deeply invested and interested in the world around him. He is quick to let his curiosity get the better of him as he peppers acquaintances with numerous questions. Genuine is his interest though, and often he hopes to humour those around him for troubling them. (Curious)

    • Second Paragraph: Virathus though feels an ardent desire to prove himself and advance his esteem; In the Jut, though his family is prominent, he is criticized for his mixed lineage by those who are jealous. This has left him settling for nothing less than his best, and with questions about his intelligence left lingering because of his half Drixaugh heritage, he has ironically become obsessively studious. Though he has some anxiety and self doubt, he hardly needs a positive reflection to keep himself motivated. (Driven/Motivated by heritage)

    • Third Paragraph: Being as proud as he is, he does not condemn his mother's heritage and treats all of his family with respect. Initially receiving training as an engineer for the manufactories of Opper Calem, Virathus begged and pleaded with his father to leave the lands and study abroad. (Respectful)

    • Fourth Paragraph: Since his youngest days, he has been taught that morality is not vague - but a series of personal and factual observances. His mother, though a quick convert to Unionism, still related her old shamanistic beliefs through bedtime tales. In his own learning of Unionism, he came to regard the Holy Spirit as almost an objective, these old tales muddying his beliefs somewhat. Ultimately though, he believes that those who act generously and against tangible evils will never falter, as their spirits are stronger and remain to force progress. (Devout/Moral)

    • Fifth Paragraph (OPTIONAL): Virathus believes that as the Emperor’s nature is divine, that acting against the greater realm is not just treasonous - but a sin of paramount evil. A devout Unionist, his beliefs are affected by his upbringing. Ultimately he yearns to bring about a golden age, but with the constant infighting on the isles, he believes it will only comes whence victorious armies emerge from each dispute. (Pro Imperial)
    Talents
    • Melee Combat: Growing up in the Jutland has meant one thing for certain; the need (and freedom) to prepare for war. Though it was insisted he practice doing battle with a sword, he has taken a great liking towards battle axes for actual battle. Either way, he has been conditioned to trade blows.

    • Detail Obsessive: Given his region providing the sole western port for many miles, it is highly developed and urban planning is essential for all up and coming nobility. Learning of the basics contributing to the manufactories set up, and more broadly being sat to see the blueprints of his family's ambitions - quite literally. Writing, details, problem solving - all are exercises of pride for Virathus, the Jutlandic obsession with productivity and quantity instilled strongly in him.

    • Studious: Inspired by a fellow student, one Johann Eshverd, Virathus has come to view literary traditions as essential to understanding oneself and the cultures of Regalia. He is often seen recording oral traditions, and furthermore, recording both tales and ongoing histories. Hoping to help raise the standing of Opper Calem, he writes often on it as well.
    Weaknesses (OPTIONAL)
    • Principled to a fault: Despite desiring grandeur, Virathus is as loyal as a dog and refuses to lie. He will often accost himself by suggesting others for positions he desires to not seem power hungry or treacherously ambitious, and is compliant with even the most corrupt of his superiors upon summons. Though a booming and forceful commander, he is no hypocrite in his belief the chain of command only works when respected. His silence or plain refusal to answer often is answer enough for those questioning him.
    Personality and Abilities (Expansion)
    • Virathus struggles to remain still whence business does not seem to involve him or important, and can be seen wringing his hands, moving his jaw about or craning his neck oddly. He also saunters with an odd swagger, as the men of the Jutland often will step first and make themselves look taller by pushing themselves up on the toes of their foot slightly.

    • Though prone to long respectful silences, in casual conversation, he may quickly move to joyous talk on drunken revelry as a young man, or his feats swimming around the Stoney Shore. A phenomenal swimmer, and with an alcohol tolerance that can betray even the best man’s liver, Virathus prides himself in his feats of strength and dexterity.
    Likes
    • Seeing displays of pride in one's house or liege inspires Virathus, as his own nationalism is something that drives him to greater heights. He is likely to toast to any house he has no ill will towards, and humour those who find strength through service with praise and quiet notions to future success.

    • With a passion for writing, to hear someone speak on poetry, a tale, or even simply give a good Oration brings Virathus no greater delight. In the Jutland, he often avoided the stigmas of a tribal by being so well versed, and his love of art grew from it. Should someone express themselves in a very odd or animated way even, Virathus finds himself more engaged by the oddities, assuming they are not offensive to him.

    • As someone whose values primarily compensate for his insecurities, he is jubilant upon being praised. Those who are keen to even note things he values may receive a very long winded thanks.

    • A man of sport, he is quick to engage in conversation with anyone who mentions or commits a feat of agility or strength. Those who can relate the oddest or most technical feats gain a great deal of respect from Virathus.
    Dislikes
    • Upon hearing a feat be chalked up to a matter of sex, race, or culture, Virathus is may become curt or downright argumentative. His origins often something he has had to prove himself beyond, he believes the merit of one's abilities and actions should be the only thing observed. Especially defensive is he of Drixaugh, the Anglian culture and the Calem region.

    • To have doubt cast upon him is, to Virathus, a grievous move. Though letting initial comments roll off of him with ease, he may simply become uncommunicative with his peers and superiors who make note to dig at him. Proud to a fault, he can be moved to strike someone who dares to disrespect him personally.

    • Cynicism, slothful behaviour and any other sort of inaction or under-effort may quickly move Virathus to view someone as weak or simply unworthy of interaction. Should someone’s reputation be marred by their lack of effort, he will likely condescend them.
    Life Story (Required)

Born near the pass leading into the Jut of Opper Calem, Virathus was the son of Ambolgrod Krupp and his Drixaugh wife Ronnet. Though the Krupp family was prominent in the port town of Lugdomac, the largely Anglian population of the Jut frowned deeply upon Ambolgrod’s union with Ronnet.

In what seemed to be developing into a major raid in the mid 260’s, the people of Opper Calem were shook by vicious attacks along the border of Drixaugh. In some local acts of retribution, some captives were able to be freed, and related what they knew on plans of a great battle being planned to secure some north eastern manufactories. Most troubling was the news that warband were hidden in the bordering forest, readying to smash more poorly defended fortifications in the south. As a major population center and manufacturer, the Jut was expected to move double pace through this very forest to lend support in resisting the oncoming wave. In a controversial move, Ambolgrod quickly sought the war leaders in the forest via couriers and offered a marriage alliance to any warlord that would break off their upcoming confrontations.

One particularly troubled warband leader quickly took the deal, and Ronnad of the Boney Shores quickly sent his daughter Ronnet so he could deal with his brother’s claim for leadership of his people (an issue he arose only when Ronnad was on campaign). Though the move was prudent, the raid never transpired - likely because similar negotiations had peeled off most of the chieftains and set them against one another. Though there was promise in the marriage as Ronnad had no sons, he soon was slain by his usurping brother, and many locals wondered if Ambolgrod had simply acted cowardly in the face of what could have been a decisive victory, marring the authority of the Krupp family.

Growing up, Virathus' life was largely guided by the stigmas and his family maneuvering around them; though Virathus was a gifted student, he obsessed with improving his martial abilities. A rowdy youth, he fought many other boys who dared to speak ill of his lineage. On an occasion, he cruelly beat a boy for calling him weak, and thereafter the brother of the beaten boy viciously assaulted Virathus. From the incident, his neck is slightly crooked, and being only 7 at the time, took it as a lesson to be more humble and less temperamental. As Ambolgrod restored the family’s prestige to some degree, Virathus gained a free hand to study more. After a fateful encounter with a man from Dorinn, the boy became aware of the disregard his homeland garnered, relating it deeply to himself. Nearing 15 years of age, he wrote his entry exam for the Admiralty Academy and passed, but only after a series of arguments with his father, who expected him to remain in the Jut and assume some of the responsibilities. Compromising slightly with his father, he pursued an education more specifically for the discipline of Battle Command in the School of Leadership. There he remained until this fateful day, intending to use the connections he gained and education he attained to bring glory to Opper Calem and his family...

@PonyoWantHam made the changes, all I wanted to say is I couldn't colour the spoiler so just go to the beginning of the last part/final question (the story) and you'll see the likes and dislikes are now right above it as spoilers.
