This is also a Suggestion:

People have been shouting 'I'm a vampire!' and such in global a lot lately. This server is crap and I am seriously about to find a new one. I want the roleplay server I joined a year ago. I'm saying we give serious consequences to such acts and start our server anew as a complete roleplay server (any conversation of the outside world has serious consequences). I joined a Medievel Roleplay server (with McMMO, Factions, and Vampires). Not Cobble Block city PvP server. Give me a roleplay server or I will QUIT![DOUBLEPOST=1357019487][/DOUBLEPOST]

Also, I want vampires to be feared, as they would in Medieval times. Remove the PvP servers and make Vampires OP. No one fears vampires these days.​

well, the prob with oping vamps is that then all will become one. The only way to weed out roleplay will be to add a whitelist. People even changed races for pvp reasons.

no one is forcing you to stay here, I agree the RP portion of this server is dead, I have a few great rp players in Aldur, but among the 10-15 year olds there are very few interested in roleplay, there is a reason I leave all channels other than F: when I join.

Well, they aren't all dead. The server is still trying to be true. It's the influx of noobs to a good, known server. They look for factions, not rp. Thats how I got here.

If you see a chicken, but call it a duck, that does not make it a duck, this server advertises itself as a RP server, there are floating buildings, and blatant violations against the laws of physics for construction during the time frame this server aims to create, they have been reported, many months ago, and they still exist. This is not a RP server any more, this is just another pvp-minecraft-cobblestone-server, unless you can isolate yourself from everyone else, then you have a RP city, on a PVP minecraft - cobblestone server, which is what I have done mostly.

Floating Buildings-Magic. This server may be able to be both, can it not? Fantasy is not a time period really, just a rough tech period.

This is how I feel about threads like these.



Remember the following facts:

• This server currently runs on 5000 logins per day, while the staff counts less then 10 active members
• We do everything we can, every day to both tell people things out of roleplay (with regards to floating shit and ugly nonrp houses) are not allowed and punish people
• Roleplay exists in certain locations to a great degree. It's not dead.
• We as a server believe players can make their own roleplay, we don't want to pre-chew everything for them. We provide a setting and an atmosphere, not a way to roleplay or what you should spent your every minute doing.
• Different players maintain different standards of roleplay, we cannot enforce a single way "to roleplay" on everyone, lesst we turn into an autocratic shitty server where the staff doesn't give a potato for the players.

I want alot of things, most of the things I want are actually the same thing you want. I want the ugly shit to disappear, I want the roleplay ruining retards to get banned, and I want this server to be a better roleplay atmosphere. I and other staff spend hours every day trying to make it better, but we are understaffed and overworked, all of us. I also want vamps to be more secretive and less whorey, but we lack even enough coders to simply keep up with the bugs and exploits people keep coming up with.

Want to make the situation better? Apply for staff membership. Can't/Don't want to apply for staff membership? Organize people in the community to create enclaves of safe and proper roleplay, police your own facilities and work to achieve what you want.

Going on the forum, ranting about how the server is shit and the admins are lazy fucks does not help us, nor does it help you. It demoralizes the staff, they feel underappreciated for the slavelabour they (sometimes - if many times) perform without any reward and it makes you seem like a spoiled child.

If i Could only like that twice....not to mention a full roleplaying servers with this large a base would go very poorly due to a good deal of the single player role players or so to like I call them Aka the role players who believe they are the hero of the universe. With that in mind large scale roleplaying is a difficult task because the majority of people in order to emulate a true medical society would need to accept dull and meaningless lives.

Just throwing this out there because I think it applies. In my case, I RP a lot more when those around me are RPing as well. Especially those who've been around longer than me (not hard to do xD) as I look to them for guidance. And I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of other players are the same way. I was going to sit down and write up a profile for myself one day, then stopped and realized no one around me was probably going to pay attention to it. RP on the forum itself would be a different matter though.
As it stands, I'm still keeping up the dwarven mason who was mysteriously transported to these lands and is just trying to get by while honing his craft. But I'm playing it as a character in a game, not role playing it as myself, because as soon as I meet someone else I'm brought back to game level instead of life level.
I'm not bothered by this, I enjoy that level of immersion. But I'm pointing myself out as an example for others to see and understand.

MonMarty nailed it so I don't have much else to add other then I'm sorry you feel this way but when I roleplay I seek out the roleplayers and avoid the non-roleplaying PvP 360mlgdubstepmonsterenergy kids. Very simple IMO. We are a roleplay server but we can't force players to roleplay. Also a good tip is to leave all channels except the ones you feel you can roleplay in. I only roleplay in s: y: and w:

I have played on a role play server with a much larger player base than this and it runs fine, however that is made much easier due to a whitelist. You will never be able to force people who join a PVP/Factions server like Massive to RP.

Anyways, I like Massive how it is, I can rp with friends when I want and there are Rp events occasionally. However I believe there could be more lore, more rp events and in general more rp. I disagree with Eyebrows though as such changes would be too drastic and sudden

I'll tell you one thing. This is the best big role play server you will ever find. 99% of all other "role play" servers allow griefing with tnt on faction land and don't match up to this.

General chat is an OOC channel, is it not? I use mun bubbles (()) for any ooc in say or yell, otherwise they're IC. Sometimes I bring tells IC or OOC, depending on the player.

I believe the world is just so massive (no pun intended) at this point, that our roleplay is in niches and small clusters.

As for vampires, I just write their names on a list for later hunting. Some Vampires ask me for blood in /say. So I tell them that I'll give them all the blood they need outside (because I'm IC and allowed to be a Tricksy unfair hobbit *cough* Elf. ) I then proceed to stake them with a wooden sword.

It doesn't help that 95 of every 100 Vampires are the Drizzt of Vamps, in that they're very nice people who are simply misunderstood. If I were human and somehow turned, I would RP being unable to resist these incredibly strong urges. I would eat my own family and slowly succumb to the monster I am.

Therefore, I call every Mary-Sue "good" Vamp a dastardly liar. >

Anyways, I hope you find the rp you're looking for.

Well, some older vamps should be able to learn to control there hungers, with this also being accelerated if they were in a vamp faction as a fledgling.
And eye, that would then make the plugin obselete and kill it. As said, only way to truly get pure rp 24/7 is by whitelisting the server.
