Usrat Al-Galeiyuun
Name: Galeiyuun (Gal-ee-yu-un)
Sigil: A fox under a sun, usually portrayed as smiling.
Words: Piety, Prosperity, Pride
Colors: Red, Green and Gray
Family Culture: Qadirqi
Values: Pride, Prosperity and Piety
Fashion: The Galeiyuun family's sense of fashion is quite bastardized in sense due to the various cultural influences the family has been omitted to. Firstly comes the family's roots of high Caliphene clothing, of which is usually brightly coloured silks with lavish and intricate designs imprinted on it. Secondly, due to the second line's proximity to Regalian culture it has adapted some Alt-Regalisch quirks of fashion including the open shirts and tighter style of clothing. This concoction creates a unique style of fashion which is unseen before.
Religion: The Galeiyuun family are worshippers of the Shambala with their secondary line overtime becoming unionists, albeit adapting with Qadiriq culture and viewing the sun as a representation of the Holy Spirit.
Business/Trade: The Galeiyuun family are merchants between the gateway of Farahdeen and the Regalian Empire. They also function as a jeweler family, delving into mineral extraction and creation of expensive pieces of finery sold to Regalian and Qadir nobles alike.
Base: The ancestral home of the Galeiyuun is the Caliphene Republic located in New Ceardia and a secondary line based in the Regalian Empire, although as of now, both lines live in the Regalian Empire.
Physical Traits: The family's traits have been slightly altered due to some interracial marriages with other races. Their skin tone ranges from a cream white to a tanned brown. The male members of this family tend to range from 5'10 to an impressive 6'6. The female members of this family tend to range from 5'8 to a 6'4. The family sport either jet black or copper hair and their eye colour is a fine brown.
Family History: Born of ancient blue blood and of great ingenuity, the family was founded in the early days of Sultan Baziah Muktin II, the year of 225 AC. The family branched out of an influential mercantile House, after a dispute between two brothers of managing the patriarchy. The younger, Mehmet Galeiyuun, retained relations with the current Sultan, being his head of falconry, was given a position as an advisor and granted a fiefdom to govern. Simply on instinct Mehmet was careful and poised on his movements, taking slow steps to become the Sultan's most prominent vizier and founding the Galeiyuun merchant business, embracing the techniques and tricks learnt from his old family. By the year 232 AC, Mehmet's wife, Sadiah, bore him a son: Suleiman.
Inspired to continue his work due to the birth of his son and heir he would begin to look towards a higher apple to reach for, the Sultanate Empire. Keeping a diligent eye on both fronts, he would make it his mission to travel to and fro the Imperial Court, trying to vy for the Sultan's favour. Until on the spring of 241 AC, he would finally succeed, befriending the aging Sultan and securing a place among his council, styling himself as Grand Vizier Mehmet Galeiyuun, Emir of Alusyiana. During this period of time, his wife bore him two more sons, Selim and Sahin, the year 243 AC. Content with his rise, Mehmet would rule his Emirdom and give confident council to the Sultan diligently. Age being the only boundary he couldn't surpass, the ambitious Mehmet would pass away in the winter of 252 AC.
His son, the 20 year old Suleiman, succeeded him as the Emir of Alusyiana and given a lowly military advisor position in the Empire, as a nod to the honourable service his father before him provided. The inexperienced Suleiman wouldn't reach for much and would focus on his military career, leaving his family to be operated on the watchful gaze of his mother. His military career left short by a blow to the spine on a campaign, would leave the young Suleiman crippled by the year 267 AC, at the age of 35. Soured by his physical disability, Suleiman would shut himself away and abandon his role as military advisor, to govern his small Emirdom and manage the mercantile business in the comfort of his home.
With business succeeding the family would become decadently wealthy, the younger brothers, Selim and Sahin developing a renowned reputation for outrageous behaviour and grandeur parties and soirees. Sahin was rumoured to have sired a dozen concubines and even more bastards. Selim however, fortunately, grew to embrace a more beneficial talent of jewelry making from a passing tradesman and with that begun the Galeiyuun's venture into the finer art of jewelry making in the early years of 270 AC.
The three brother's coffers were satisfied with the rising popularity of their pieces from Qadiriq courts. Seeking to expand their trade, Suleiman would send his brother Selim to the west; Regalia.
Selim would begin difficulty attempting to adjust to the hostility of the Regalian Archipelago. Eventually bribing his way into a marriage to a Baron's daughter. The wedding, fully paid for by the family, was the prime opportunity to flash their wares and wealth. Selim would soon quickly bare a daughter and a son, Ahmet and Ahsana. Things begun to look better for this secondary line as business slowly begun to improve and the Ailors of Regalia got used to this unusual culture, thanks to his Alt-Regalisch wife, Karoline von Calendratstien. Eventually Selim would be convinced to convert to Unionism and upon that the Regalian branch would boom in trade, nobility buying its precious pieces for weddings and for personal want to own such an exquisite piece of unique jewelry.
Across the ocean, Suleiman's story is one of struggle. The crippling blow to his hip dealing chronic pain confining the weak patriarch to a wheelchair. Although this did not hinder the ambitious man, who, slowly becoming confident with his weakness, would return to the political scene of the Empire and flaunt the name of his family, coveting for a place on the Sultan's council. Decades passing by, he would rise slowly if not surely until an opportunity arose. The Sultan's death. Succeeding him would be his young heir, needing of a new council to rule the Empire until he reached of age. The aged man would quickly take heed of this opportunity and shower the young Sultan in gifts and invite him to the lavish parties of the Galeiyuun, albeit Suleiman never took part of. His move proved successful and within a year, the now experienced Suleiman would reach the position of Vizier to the Sultan.
With both lines of the family comfortable with their position, they would continue to prosper through wars and peacetime, the trade always ran between east and west and jewelry was always needed. At the beginning of the year 304 AC, the young Sultan would be deposed by his older, warmongering uncle. Suleiman unable to do much would have perished during the escape of the young Sultan. His family, under the guidance of the new patriarch, Mustafa and his mother, Neseli, would sail for Regalia seeking safety under the younger Sultan and the Regalian Empire.
