• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

I attempted to play a Maiar back in the noob days, but I never really saw an IG benefit from them that allowed evolutionary physiology to work well.

The only RP hotspots viable for aquatic Maiar are the harbor an, that's about it. And even then, there was no point to RP underwater or swim around, because you would never find another player that ICly was swimming around. Meanwhile, the beefy Maiar were the only real opportunity to RP on land, purely because waddling around all day with no benefit of it makes no sense to me.

With this said, I suppose mentioning the 1.13 update, given that it is going to revamp the ocean biomes in vanilla. While Regalia is a custom map, some of those new blocks will only be viable in the water. So you will have new blocks available, but no way to implement them into a build. So the only viable option would be to spruce up the water on the map. And by doing so, there is a new area perfect for diving and, yup, Maiar.

Furthermore, we have a lore item for diving, Wodnik's Jelly, but zero RPability with it besides hiding in shit water (which gives you sewer maggots). Having an underwater district and/or shipwrecks to explore may bring some love back to Maiar.

I acknowledge that I'm relying on 1.13 a lot for this suggestion, but maybe holding off on removing or changing Maiar until the update comes around is a good idea.
