Aloria Story Progression Tylleronde's Game

Months after the Bone Horror Crisis and the occupation by Freya Lo, many in the capital spoke lofty words of conquest and world domination in the hopes that the far extended world was too weak to resist Regalian hegemony. Indeed, even elements of the government had already prepared to go on personal missions to prelude military conflict with far flung nations, but there were also more cautious elements in the palace. With the Crown Prince shaping up to be a martial leader, diplomatic forces within the Palace started scheming to ensure the prevention of a future collapse of the Empire under the strain of aggressive warfare. This lobby was mostly led by Bonace Tylleronde, 4th baron of Guisard. Tylleronde was a long serving diplomat of the Empire that had been active during the Chrysant Wars days, and had brokered numerous agreements with the Allar and the Great Alchemical Court of Alchemists. It was mostly by his view of the world, that the diplomatic factions in the Imperial court started supporting the view of “Ordre de toutes choses”. By this term, Tylleronde engineered the idea that the while the world was weakened, a great political storm was coming, and the Empire should endeavor to deny its rivals the time and possibility to isolate it. Tylleronde’s allies began working to ensure the Crown Prince would not declare war on practically every race, while Tylleronde himself began scouting the diplomatic landscape in the shifting world order.

It was obvious to Tylleronde that the Ailor would all support the Regalian Empire, so his focus was primarily with the other races. His first endeavor was with the Allar, perhaps a less obvious choice, but given Tylleronde’s career, the first and most pliable option. The Allar had, since the Chrysant Wars, been relatively isolated and mostly involved in internal conflict due to the lingering presence of the Slizzar and the occupation forces by the Regalian Fleet. Certainly, while a vast part of the Allar population lived within the borders of the Empire, and while the court of Alchemists was de-facto controlled by Empire Scholars, the Allar had never been fully integrated into the Empire’s southern borders. Tylleronde lobbied day and night, mostly with the military commanders of the south, and in due part also with the local Allar rulers, to form a more cohesive political bond. Eventually, Tylleronde prepared a wholesome package of deals which largely revolved around the concept of citizenship: The Allar were to gain first rank citizen status (though would still be considered non-Humanum), thus lifting the oppressive Marked rank regulations, if all Allar states would subject themselves to Suzerain status of the Empire, and the Allar would declare themselves allies to the Ailor at large. This act was reluctantly approved by the Crown Prince, who mockingly named it “The Ztrillian Accord”, after a particular Allar that his brother had granted Humanum status in a previous tenure. With the Ailor and Allar now formally forming some sort of ironic alliance (given the fact that the Ailor performed genocide on the Allar no more than 15 years ago), Tylleronde named this new political union the “The Crown Alliance”.

Much to Tylleronde’s expectations, the world at large was not entirely oblivious to his attempts, most certainly not the Songaskia. The Songaskia Massaya had been wooing the Altalar Elves for quite some time, the Altalar who had been disgruntled recently due to the utter abandonment the Regalian Empire forced on them, choosing the Orcs over them. Tylleronde monitored the diplomatic chatter, and eventually concluded that the Altalar were not a viable diplomatic option. Elven revanchism was at a high, and the Altalar naturally gravitated to the heretical Songaskia with their frequent magic usage. Before these two races even formally signed an agreement, Tylleronde already labeled them “The Magic Covenant”, referring to them as such in letters back to the Palace. With this supposed Magic Covenant forming, Tylleronde’s diplomatic world view of the Ordre des toutes choses became more apparent. Tylleronde was not alone in his views, others across borders in other Empires viewed the situation with much the same conclusions, and so the race had only just begun, the race to draw lines in the sand and form the great alliances of races for the inevitable showdown to become the new hegemonial power over Aloria, and to claim the vast open fertile lands that had been so conveniently cleansed by the Bone Horrors.

Elsewhere yet, sinister forces were conspiring for less grand political schemes. The Shendar had long wished to expand beyond the borders of their islands, but lacked the foreign backing to draw up arms against the Avanthar mainly. They found a new common ally of convenience in the Saivalthar, who equally loathed the Avanthar for denying the resurgence of their Elven Empire. Nobody pretended this alliance was anything else but two races intensely hating each other, but choosing to hate others all the more, and thus, by Tylleronde’s vision, this alliance came to be known as “The Blood Pact”. Formally speaking however, this alliance was not intended to play ball with the greater alliances that engaged in the game of hegemony. Rather, this force was entirely aimed at the destruction of any world order, regardless of its allegiance or focus, and as such, the situation on the global theatre became more complicated.

Time would tell how Tylleronde’s ventures would succeed, many more races and nations were exposed to the Bone Horrors and the eventual showdown between the various political unions. Diplomats were sent out in all corners of Aloria, at least for as far as the patience of the Crown Prince would last, the ruler who continuously longed for military conflict, both to cement his rule, but also to strengthen the Empire which risked another era of Pessimism following the recent defeats and economic downturns.
